Please don’t tag as “abo” as it’s a slur for indigenous Australians! Omega verse etc work just as well thank you!! When I say the above slur I mean “abo” and the like

So, if I say “I’m queer” and I am, I am not using a slur, I’m using a reclaimed term to describe myself. If I say “you’re a queer” and you don’t mind that; then it’s a reclaimed slur. If I say “you’re a queer” and you DO mind that, then it’s a slur and offensive.

I cannot say “I’m an (the above slur)” as I am not and have not reclaimed that slur. That word is still highly offensive to indigenous Australians and it is still actively used as a slur. Same as the N-word in US America.

YOU DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE IF SOMETHING IS OFFENSIVE TO OTHERS.

You don’t have to understand it, you can just block people but you don’t get to say “well actually” to people responding negatively to a slur.

No. If white people started using the N word or neurotypical people started using the R word as a “short hand”, or “abbreviation” for another thing, all hell would rain down upon them. Again; you do not get to choose when a slur is a slur unless in reference to yourself.

I can feel the US American from here. Rarely have I heard the N word and similar words that are typically used on African American people, but I still wouldn’t say it. Because I’m not an idiot and I see that other people do not like these words as again, they are slurs.
