We filmed performances of a couple of songs prior to our album release show at National Sawdust in New York in October. This is a live version of ‘Game Show’.

The song was one of the earliest ones from Are You Alone? and went through a few different phases. The lyrics were quite different initially. Emotionally it’s not like the rest of the songs on AYA but the song is one of our personal favorites.

Majical Cloudz Has Opened For Lorde, Would Open For Pope Francis: Alt In Our Stars Podcast

Montreal duo Majical Cloudz is getting ready to release its second full length of life-affirming minimalist synth jams. Last Friday (Sept. 25), frontman Devon Welsh came through Billboard’s New York office to discuss Are You Alone?, out Oct. 16 on Matador. It just so happened Pope Francis was in town on the same day.

“Are You Alone?” is a song about life! People doing things and feeling things and falling all over the place! Lots of emotions! Just trying to keep going! Sometimes it’s easy! Sometimes it’s hard! It’s a song about caring what happens! To other people!
