Elyse & Chris’ Mt Coot-tha wedding
This week on the blog we take a look at Elyse and Chris’ recent Mount Coot-tha wedding. We created a relaxed and textured bouquet for the day featuring white garden roses, tulips, spray roses and lisianthus, with seasonal white and grey-green foliage. The attendant’s bouquets followed the theme, as did the men’s buttonholes and the ladies’ pin-on dress corsages. The images below are courtesy of Naomi V Photography.
1. Wedding dress designer? Madison James 2. Suit designer? Reuben F Scarf 3. Hair and Makeup? Rachelle Barrett Hair and Makeup Celebrant? Nigel the Celebrant 4. Venue? The Summit at Mt Coot-tha 5. What inspired you for the theme of your wedding? I’ve always loved the classic, understated look of a white wedding complemented by simple greenery. To make it feel more ‘us’, we went with white roses and native foliage for a relaxed, authentic version of that classic look. 6. What is your favourite flower? Daisies. They didn’t work for the look I wanted, so I found a dress that had them embroidered into the bodice. 7. Who was your photographer? Naomi V Photography 8. Highlight of your wedding day? Celebrating with friends and family, and the surprise slideshow Chris had prepared for the reception. 9. Favourite part about the florals we designed for you? I loved the relaxed shape of the bouquets. They smelled amazing too!

Hair and Makeup – Hair by Jade at Olive Eco Hair and my makeup was started by me and finished by my sister in law Cassidy. Venue – Our home in Clear Mountain What inspired you for the theme of your wedding? We wanted a rustic/antique theme for a simple garden wedding at home. What is your favourite flower? I love wild flowers. Who was your photographer? Photographer was Kath at KGB Imagery. Highlight of your wedding day? Being at home with our closest family with us. Krista & Daniel’s Teneriffe wedding
Today we’re taking a look at Krista and Daniel’s recent Brisbane wedding, with a Q&A from Krista below. With a ceremony at the beautiful Latrobe Chapel in Paddington and reception at Cutty Sark, Krista chose a bouquet featuring cream and white toned florals, including garden roses, standard and spray roses, along with lisianthus and disbud chrysanthemums. Succulents, berry foliage and gum were added to compliment the blooms, while the bridesmaids’ bouquets featured orange and pink toned florals as a contrast. The flower girls carried babies’ breath posies, and wore babies’ breath flower crowns. Reception flowers, as in the bridesmaids’ bouquets, were in bright tones.
1. Wedding dress designer? – Wendy Makin Bridal
2. Suit designer? – Roger David
3. Hair and Makeup – Amber and Sarah
4. Venue – Ceremony – Latrobe Chapel (Paddington) and Reception – Cutty Sark (Teneriffe)
5. What inspired you for the theme of your wedding? – That was a question I constantly got asked throughout the planning and to be honest, we didn’t really have a theme (eek!). We just wanted a relaxed, but elegant wedding and and so generally I was just picking things that I liked and praying that it would all come together on the day (which thankfully it did!!)
6. What is your favourite flower? – I don’t really have a favourite….
7. Who was your photographer? – Family friend
8. Highlight of your wedding day? – Dan’s face when I walked down the aisle (awwww!!) and my parents reactions throughout the day.
9. Favourite part about the florals we designed for you? – Where do I start…..I must have been the most difficult client with no theme and no real idea of what I was after, just a list of things I knew I didn’t want (haha!). I absolutely loved everything you came up with – without me being able to describe it you picked and arranged flowers that were so me and completely gelled with everything else I had picked for the day. My favourite part was probably the colours chosen and the way you incorporated succulents. Absolutely stunning!

Adrienna & Sam's Ocean View Wedding
Adrienna and Sam recently tied the knot at Ocean View Estates, set in the hills of Ocean View on the Mt. Mee tourist drive. Adrienna chose a medium sized, unstructured wedding bouquet featuring proteas, tetragona, sea holly and native foliage, providing a beautiful complement to the bushland setting. I love Valentine’s Day.
In the midst of planning my own celebrations for Valentine’s Day, I found myself caught amongst the ‘theme’ of the celebrations – deep reds, romance and all of the sweetness. I drove immediately to the always trusty Northside Flower Market and picked up a variety of foliage and red blooms to create this simple and romantic bouquet! All I needed was the beautiful Brittany and we were good to go.
Here are a few frames from my “Valentine’s Day inspired not-quite bridal shoot”!
