Some say that iduna confessed her past to agnarr on the night of the accident, but if we see in the photo that iduna gets on the boat, she is not wearing her handkerchief, nor at any other time than that of frozen 1, but on the statues of ice. . from frozen 2 iduna wears her scarf, for which iduna confessed her past before the accident, and left her scarf to anna and elsa before leaving.
One day maybe I’ll understand why Disney chose to promote Into the Unknown for Best Original Song while ignoring the best song in Frozen II.

I'm 100% sure that in th beginning of Frozen II Agnarr had no idea that Iduna's Northuldra. If he did he wouldn't habe said 'I wish I knew who saved me'. Of course Iduna knew his story. He surely told her about it at least once. She didn't look very happy when he mentioned it. It's a very sensitive topic for her, too, because unlike him she lost way more that day.
The next thing is the real hc. I think after singing the lullaby to the girls she told Agnarr the truth about her past. I'm sure they haven't talked about it for a very long time and now that the memories come back again she'd think maybe it's time to say it.
And then I think the accident happened right after her confession. Agnarr's obviously okay with it, after all she did save him and was the love of his life. And Anna did ask Elsa if they want to build a snowman later. It would also explain how they could the in the grand hall so fast and why they're still completely dressed in the middle of the night. They surely talked for quite a while and then heard Elsa's call.
I don't think they got out of bed, get dressed and be as wide awake as they were when they were asleep till then.
From then on they started to reseach about magic and chose a secret room to put all their research in, in case Anna happened to find it. Pabbie did say it's better that Anna didn't remember.
Although I'm not quite sure how they could search in the wrong sea...If they looked for Ahtohallan the whole time then it's obvious to go north -as the lullaby says. It would only makes sense if they tried to find more magic related stuff like books or probably other people who could use magic.
Maybe once they couldn't find any more clues, they decided to go to Ahtohallan. Iduna also drew the route and their destination on the map.
Or they really didn't figure out which sea the NORTHERN wind meets. Okay, yeah it could be that they just followed the wind, who went south at that time. Then that would be unfortunate.
Credits for them to work so hard to help Elsa and bring the girls together again. Too bad it didn't work...

Agnarr paused outside Anna and Elsa’s room and turned to his wife.
“Iduna? Should we tell them? They’re old enough to understand, especially Elsa.”
The Queen met her husband’s gaze with sad eyes.
“I would love to. They need to know where they come from, why I always have this scarf.” She gestured to the purple cloth around her shoulders. “I just don’t want to put them at risk. Elsa already has her magic… and this…I’m afraid people aren’t as accepting as they once were. We will tell them, soon I hope. I’m tired of living in a lie of who I am.”
Agnarr pulled her close and hugged her. “Soon.”

The map they found on their dead parent's ship, which was taken on board when Agnar and Iduna set sail on that doomed voyage. The date on the map is 1840 in Roman numerals. So dates of 1836 have to be wrong.
The numbers are here,
top left in Roman numerals. It reads MDCCCXL. M = 1000, D=500, C=100, L=50, X=10, V=5, I=1. Roman numerals are normally additive, except when a lower value comes before a higher value. So MD=1500, CCC=300 and XL= 50-10 = 40. This gives 1500 + 300 + 40 = 1840, our date on the map in Roman numerals. QED

Sweet moment
This movie is full of sweet moments. In this short scene, Elsa sees the memory of her mother telling her father about the truth about her past and where she’s from. Observe Elsa glancing back and forth at Iduna and Agnarr and the interactions between Iduna and Agnarr.
1. Iduna is initially looking down, avoiding eye contact, with a worried look on her face. Even though she’s safe in Agnarr’s embrace, her hand is on his chest, ready to push away and keep her distance.
2. As she says “and where I’m from” she looks up to make eye contact with Agnarr, her face tense and worried about what he might say or how he might react. Elsa knows Iduna is about to disclose that she’s actually Northuldran, and shares her mother’s worried look. Her eyes dart to look at Agnarr worriedly, and then back to Iduna.
3. Agnarr says “I’m listening”, moves his face closer to Iduna’s and extends his hand to caress her face. I think he also pulls her closer to himself (there’s a slight flexing of his left elbow) At which point, Elsa makes a little smile. She glances back at Agnarr and notices he is smiling at Iduna.
4. Iduna sees the gesture of love, and the love in Agnarr’s face and she relaxes. She reaches up to hold Agnarr’s hand and tilts her head into his caressing palm, closing her eyes and smiling, reassured and at ease.
5. Agnarr simultaneously draws Iduna even closer to him (if you look carefully there is a slight gap between her bosom and his body, which closes up)
6. Elsa looks back at Iduna and she too is reassured, her smile widens and her expression says “awwwww Papa!! Way to go!!”

From the scenes of where these pictures of both former kings of Arendelle come, it’s easy to see how much they differ, despite being father and son. Runeard was a very ruthless, two-faced, power-hungry tyrant who only pretended to care about his family, servants, and people when all he really cared about was the power his rank as king gave him. As a result, he was obsessively determined to protect it at all costs and wouldn’t hesitate to resort to fighting and murder if he felt he risked losing it.
On the other hand, we never see Agnarr exhibit the same lust for power being king granted him like it did for Runeard. And if Dangerous Secrets is anything to go by in support of this, Agnarr was extremely reluctant to be king when he was thrust into unofficial kinghood at 14. Then a few years before turning 21, he learned that his mother ran away when she could finally no longer take living in a loveless marriage with his father into which she had been forced. That and his friendship with Iduna showed Agnarr was much more reluctant to be king because he didn’t want to be forced into marriage with a princess just for the good of the realm as opposed to love.
But since there was no Arendellian law saying he HAD to marry another monarch, Agnarr and Iduna’s love prevailed, and he vowed to be a better man and king because of his love for Iduna. Then it lead to them to have two beautiful girls whom they loved dearly as well. And despite they mistakes they made and the distress they had seeing Elsa grow up to be so turbulent, Agnarr and Iduna still loved each other and their girls up until their deaths. And the image of their last moments that Elsa conjured up from the remaining water on their shipwreck shows that all too well.
Although I would like to know how shutting the castle gates any kind of effect on Agnarr as a ruler of Arendelle, positive or negative, it showed that for him, family came first. But for Runeard, power was all that mattered to him, and he only saw Rita and Agnarr as assets to his power, not as his family.

I just finished Dangerous Secrets and I’m thrilled by it!
I wrote a ton of notes as I read the book and have organised them into two mega posts, this one focuses on all the references that @marimancusi made to the rest of the Frozen universe in the book. The other post will be focusing on scenes within Frozen-verse that now have a new meaning because of DS. These posts are 100% original.
Naturally, there are spoilers. Avert your eyes if you do not wish to be spoiled! There are references to Frozen (1), Frozen 2, Frozen 2 deleted scenes, Forest of Shadows, and one outside of Frozen! Each one will show a tiny portion of the text followed by an appropriate screencap.

Forest of Shadows References
Much kudos to Mari for not only tying up Frozen 1 and 2 in DS, but also making references to Forest Of Shadows by Kamilla Benko! (which was released first, before F2 in fact)
1. Blodget the baker and her shop, Blodget’s Bakery, were mentioned in FoS multiple times (best butter cookies in the world!)
2. Huldrefolk are a key people group in FoS
3. Sorenson is also a key character in FoS. In FoS, it is briefly mentioned that Iduna visited Sorenson in the past and painted his ceiling. So it’s a very nice touch that Sorenson is “introduced” or referenced in DS.
4. Fear is the enemy of Arendelle - just like the Nattmara in FoS that was created by Elsa’s fears.
