Immortality… So, the boy had already picked up on his inhuman age from that remark alone, hmm? Quite intuitive, although Klaus wasn’t sure that was the best way to phrase it, especially now that his clock had presumably restarted. But explaining how he wasn’t exactly immortal would require fessing up more information than he would like to give to a stranger. A boy he’d just met needn’t know his backstory, no matter how much useful information he was spilling himself.
Bright blue stayed locked onto the comforting golden eyes that watched him so critically, remaining ever stoic even when the other’s hand moved to graze his chin. His gaze grew more intense as his privacy was further invaded, but otherwise he gave no sign of reaction; diverting attention solely to listening and observing. “I take it these… ‘other worlds’ have a habit of destroying themselves often, then? That is quite a shame..,” was the only comment he could offer as he mulled over the boy’s words. It was disappointing to think humanity’s suicidal desires were left unchecked even in worlds outside his…
His attention was taken away from those thoughts quickly enough, however, seized entirely by the talk of the so-called ‘Unversed’. They were made entirely of negative emotions..? That would explain why their aura seemed to resonate so greatly with that of the Mother’s… “I see… those levels of negativity sound more on point with the creatures I saw. If that is the case, I must find a way to return to Regnant post-haste and eliminate the threat. My Kingdom has enough troubles with negative emotions as it is already.”
The mention of splitting one between light and darkness was a rather interesting tidbit. Such a thing was possible..? Intriguing… “I do not believe anyone from my planet has any power like you have described, so it is likely from this apprentice you speak of. I have encountered a visitor claiming to be from another world lately, though he did not go by the name of Vanitas. …His attire was similar to yours, however, now that I think of it.”
Brows raised at the mention of this land having been part of Earth, the information only further convoluting matters. Being out of his time would be an adequate explanation, yes, if it weren’t for this time period appearing to be similar to his own. Was this perhaps an ancient civilization, from long before the ultra-scientific race of the last era of humanity..? “This ‘Gregorian’ calendar you mention does not sound familiar at all, I am afraid. We use the Landbeorht calendar, which is said to be an adapted version of the calendars the ancient Technolomies used. As for the year, it is 5004; though our records do not predate that of the prior extinction of humanity… So I cannot say how helpful that number will be to you.”
He was caught off guard by the invite to the child’s castle, the level of hospitality the other was willing to show once again defying his expectations. Before Klaus could properly express gratitude for his kindness, his ability to trust this stranger was called into question. Of course he still saw this boy as suspicious, though not enough of a threat to deny his offers. Magical capabilities or not, one human alone posed no danger to someone like Klaus, and curative spells made poisoned food irrelevant.
“You are my only source of help in this unfamiliar land, and likely the only one with the ability to bring me home; do I have any choice but to trust you? I will not hesitate to strike you down should you turn on me, but otherwise I’ve no one else to put my faith in as of now.” He said with a nonchalant shrug, taking the boy’s hand without hesitation. “Besides… sitting down for lunch sounds wonderful right about now. But please, do not worry yourself with my tastes. I am not a picky eater, so I shall be grateful for whatever it is you have to offer, I assure you. …That is… as long as it is not sour. My tolerance for that is quite low, especially when it hinders the sweet delicacies of dessert.”
“Yes... it’s a sad thing to see, but Worlds are in a constant cycle of destruction and recreation. They fall to darkness, and eventually, emerge--whether through natural means or being awaken by the guardians of the worlds, called Keyblade Masters. There’s rather few of them, anymore... only a dozen or so wielders, only a few Masters, compared to the old hundreds and dozens, respectively. There was a... disagreement over how to protect the Worlds, the legend goes, and brought the world to this cyclic ruin. My...” what does he call Master Xehanort. Well, time travel was already on the table, so the truth sufficed. “...my future self, the man I will grow into in a half-century, wishes to break this cycle, but some initial damage will be done to fix things... and others do not agree with the notion of sacrificing the few to save the many. They greedily, naively, think that they can save everyone...” he frowns. Too personal. Back up. ...wait, someone else had a dark cloak?
“Perhaps from my world, but unfortunately quite common garb. Allies and enemies alike have them. He taps below his eye. “If you see one with a black coat like mine... allies have from sun-gold to fiery-amber eyes, enemies tend to have cooler tones, such as blue,” he scoffs slightly. “...no offense to you. Golden eyes are simply a blessing from my future self,” who would be on this man’s world? Xigbar for scouting, perhaps? But who would be with Vanitas... nnn. Sora wasn’t stupid enough to wander into unfamiliar worlds. Perhaps Ansem seeking out a fresh, tasty World Heart? Or it could be a Light, causing chaos in a corrupt world, turning the Worlds against the Seekers before they even arrive.
“Mmm... calendars change frequently in month preference and the like, but rarely change years, as it causes too wide-spread of confusion. If you’re from 5004...” he taps his foot. “Humans would be 9000 or so back now, so... it’s more likely you’re 3000 years in the future,” he wasn’t made of robot bits or had similar high-capacity tracking, so the extinction would’ve happened during those 5000 years, not before. Unless there were multiple ones, but... that was mostly irrelevant. “...ah... that’s not too bad. I can do some skipping around until I find a Landbeorht calendar starting, and skip time forward or back from there... it’ll take a bit of time to prepare for that journey, however,” he pauses, briefly. “You may be here longer than expected...” he sounds none too happy about it, but not exactly enraged.
His only source of help? He just wanted him gone. But he was being kind, if slightly aggressive. “...I suppose...” he looks... embarrassed? “You really needn’t keep off-handedly threatening me, I’m going to eventually take offense,” lips press thinly; he looks serious, but he’s just thinking of what to create. He hated people that weren’t picky... it caused the need for too much creative input on his behalf. “...certainly you at least have a favorite meat, fruit, vegetable, potato? I assume Earth hasn’t changed so much that the food availability is radically different,” he presses a kiss to the other’s hand when it’s given, soft and delicate; shifting such that he’s standing mostly-beside to lead him through the labyrinth of the city toward the castle.
“...how does peppered lemon salmon with elotes dressing and fried potatoes sound? With a desert of...” mental spin of a roulette, “...I’d typically recommend keylime, but that’s quite sour... perhaps just a bit of sherbet to top things off?” a soft smile. “If that’s too heavy for lunch, we can ditch the potatoes and have the salmon on a bed of elotes,” an idle shrug. “Up to you,” he squeezes his hand slightly. Such beautiful hair, such freely given trust, such confidence in both himself and his strength, but without the grating egotistical air that usually accompanies such. Perhaps he won’t be too bad to... tolerate.

Ah… so he decided to offer his knowledge willingly. Klaus was a bit surprised at that, seeing as how quick the other was to jump to hostility and threats seemed to greatly reduce the possibility of civil discussion. But he was nonetheless grateful for this pleasant outcome, relieved that he may not have to fight a child he just met.
The boy’s words were intriguing, although just how much weight they held to Klaus’s situation was debatable. As far as he could tell, the monster that was summoned as an example to accompany the lecture appeared to be nothing like the monsters he had been dealing with. The form was like unlike anything he had seen from those bizarre creatures, but most of all the eyes were different— carrying the same hue, but not the same shape.
Regardless of such, Klaus still listened attentively to what the other had to say. While it was possible this had nothing to do with him, if he truly had crossed over to another world, then it would be beneficial to know as much as he could about it.
As he neared the end of his explanation, the boy removed his hood and jumped down to greet him. It seemed he was just as young as Klaus had expected based upon his voice and figure, perhaps slightly older than he’d estimated. All the more reason not to get messed up in any trouble with him, even though the morals to not raise a hand against those younger than him had long since died. He watched the boy carefully as he invaded his personal space, mostly undisturbed by his advances. A close eye was kept on him in case of sudden attacks, but otherwise Klaus allowed the child to poke and prod at him as he wished, keeping a steely composure through it all.
He took a moment to mull everything over before shaking his head. “Hmm… what you say sounds logical, though I believe there may have been a misunderstanding somewhere. I have lived long enough to watch my planet suffer through death and revival many a time. And while human emotion is undoubtedly still plagued by the burden of negativity, I am certain my planet is not dying presently. Its end was prevented months ago.” He should know— he was the one who was killed to put an end to the destruction of humanity. And rightfully so, given how it was caused most entirely by his own hand.
“Your help is much obliged, although I believe my situation may be… different than you think. Perhaps the monsters I have seen are not those you speak of?” Closer inspection on that dragon-like creature only solidified his belief of its differences. “The ones I have seen are a tad different than this creature, I believe… Their negativity is more potent, and their eyes are not quite the same. There was a distinct flare to the shapes their eyes took, the designs looking more like… crude portrayals of expression than anything.”
Was it rude of him to so calmly shoot down the other’s claims? Klaus certainly hoped not, but he couldn’t deny the possibility. He gave a slight sigh, deciding to focus on the other things the boy mentioned instead.
Consumed by darkness… hmph. As if such a weak negativity could affect him. Now that he thought about it, it did seem to disturb his senses and taunt the darker patches of his eroded soul, but it was still nothing compared to being set aflame by the torments of God’s despair for centuries.
“Your concern is noted, but I have endured darkness realms deeper than that which brought me here. I am not terribly worried about it.” He offered a proud smirk, hopefully lightening the air a bit. “But regardless of mishaps, my entrapment is still a dire matter, yes… I am from Earth; the Regnant Kingdom, specifically. Though I am uncertain that such names will help you, if we are in as drastically different a world as you say.”
“An immortal?” he laughs, a soft chuckle--more in amusement than disbelief. “How fascinating. No wonder you’re so unaffected by darkness,” that hand goes from chest to gently place his finger beneath his chin... and intense expression with golden eyes, though he eventually lets him go and looks away. “It is good to know your Home World is safe; of anything, the state of Worlds is something I will gladly be incorrect on... they are such finicky things,” a small frown. It wasn’t that hard to plunge a World into darkness, from what he understood of his elder--the less people, the easier it was. Did he come from an area with minimal population? Or simple very corrupt populace?
“Ah, Unversed, then...” then Vanitas was off terrorizing worlds? Awful. “My... Master has an Apprentice that can summon them. Dangerous critters, yes, more made of negative emotions, instead of just negative memories...” he strokes the Ryu Dragon on his shoulder, and then dismisses it. “In my World, said Apprentice, Vanitas, is the only source. But his creation was that of ripping darkness and light apart, so such may have been done to others... hmm,” he frowns slightly, trying to organize his thoughts.
“...this World was once part of Earth, so perhaps it won’t be that difficult. What calendar system do you use? It’s about 1800 AD, by the Gregorian calendar... but... mmm... I doubt we use the same calendar... I’ll have to look up when your style of armor was used. You’re more likely out of time instead of space, though as Regnant Kingdom is unfamiliar, you may also be half-way across the World,” thinking, thinking... he glances at the sky for an estimate of the time... probably nearing lunch time.
“I can take you to my decrepit Castle-church atop this hill, offer you lunch, then we can begin research on your exact time and location. Once we have both of those, I can easily send you back,” he tilts his head. “I’m not from this time, myself, so traveling through time is quite easy...” and a quip of a smile. “What’s your favorite entree, side, and desert? Or your top handful,” a short pause. “That is... assuming you trust me?” he offers his hand out to the other to lead him, palm up.

“Are you willing to join me on an excursion?” Empty halls and endless silence wore down the hardiest of constitutions and lack of company did little to ease the problem. “I know you are often busy with your own duties and tending to our own castle but perhaps a small break is in order.”
Anything to escape the white walls he felt were closing in around him. Anything to escape condescension from those who considered themselves his superior. Anything for a friendlier presence.
“Perhaps we can find a place to dine… no, wait. Do you refuse food prepared in restaurants or is that only for certain individuals?”
White walls and white halls, he never stayed here for long--a night or two at most. But he did want to check in with his elder and Xemnas on occasion, and right now he was relaxing in the Grey Room, trying to decide what to do for dinner. He could get take out before he returned to Le Mont, or making something here, or go shopping... so many options, he’s a bit surprised to see Saix arrive.
As beautiful as ever, with that soft blue hair, and cold gold eyes. Yet, today, there was almost an air of... sadness. He pities the Nobody, wondering just how much emotion he can feel, with his muted Xehanort-fragmented heart. He stands, stretching slightly. “I would love to go out to dinner with you, Saix. ...my avoidance of food is only from those I know, strangers are fine. I do not enjoy most meals prepared for others, as the average chef has no culinary capacity, but I am willing to tolerate,” he reaches up, stroking his cheek softly. So close, so fast. “Especially for you. ...who’s paying?”

As if the angels were not already enough to deal with, there was yet another new threat cropping up in the Regnant Kingdom; one that had never before been heard of. They seemed to come in a wide variety of appearances, ranging from humanoid to beastly, and even some that looked like inanimate objects at first glance. There was only two similarities Klaus had noticed from the few times he had come across them the past couple days— they all had glowing red eyes designed in strange patterns, and were brimming with an energy that made his skin crawl in a familiar way he’d wish he could forget.
The aura they emitted bore an uncanny similarity to the energy Mother Qualia was made of, one of pure negativity that rolled over his skin and brought images of roaring black flames back into his mind. And while he was certain that they held no direct connection to Mother, that did not change the fact that the copious amounts of negativity they held bore into his soul even deeper than the angel’s presence did. He had to make quick work of these enemies, if he wanted to avoid the risk of their energy drowning him in a flood of his own negative memories… and hopefully find and eliminate the source as soon as possible.
He was currently standing up against a slightly more powerful variant of those creatures. This one was considerably larger than those he’d faced so far, donning impenetrable indigo and gold armor that made getting hits on it far more annoying than he’d like. He ducked under the disks it shot at his head and used the opening it left to get behind it, and unleashed a flurry of thrusts at its unprotected rear before ramming it through with his spear.
Unfortunately Thousand Strikes didn’t do quite enough damage to take it down, and the creature tried to make a run for it. A black flaming portal opened not too far away to which the monster made its escape through, and while its appearance sent chills running down his spine, Klaus couldn’t let it escape. Without thinking he charged straight through it, not caring where it might lead— only thinking of pursuing his target until eliminated.
Once he emerged from the darkness, he found himself in a city he’d never seen before. He had been all across Regnant and never once seen anywhere quite like this… so where was he? Another Kingdom, perhaps..? That would be quite some distance to travel, but…
He was broken out of his confusion by a sudden voice from above and he immediately scanned the area, clutching his spear tight. Soon enough he caught sight of a cloaked boy looking down on him from a rooftop, clearly disgruntled by his presence. The claim of private property would normally have had Klaus giving his apologies and retreating, but the energy crackling across his arm made it clear that this boy was both hostile and suspicious. And given how the monster led him here… perhaps even the culprit he was looking for.
Klaus ignored his threat, not intimidated in the slightest by him. It was just another boy with the gall to believe he could do him harm. Such arrogance will only leave the child with severe injuries, and Klaus would rather not be the one to put him in his place. He glowered up at the other, watching him keenly in case he decided to make any sudden movements. “I would prefer you answer my questions first, if you wish for my swift exit. Tell me, are you the one responsible for setting those… negative creatures loose in my Kingdom?”
Negative creatures? No doubt Nightmares... there were no Heartless here, after all. This World existing in a state of lucidity, not quite sleeping, not quite awake. It allowed for waking and sleeping visitors both, as well as Dream Eaters to frollick about. They usually kept to themselves, however, as the young Master was uninterested in cuddling with a hundred needy Nightmares.
Ugh. Such gall, from a puny little fair-haired intruder. ...well. He was probably bigger in him in both height and width, but that wasn’t... relevant. Probably. But he did want him gone... so civility seemed an effective enough path.
“No,” he spawns a Ryu Dragon nightmare beside him, effortlessly. “I can control them in proximity, but what they do outside of this World is not relevant to me, nor controlled,” he pauses. What’s the next question? Get rid of them? Where did they come from? “Unfortunately, this means that the World you hail from has fallen to darkness, and is asleep, awaiting its inevitable death when it is fully consumed; these red-eyed creatures come from the sleeping world’s nightmares, negative emotions that the people who ‘live’ there are feeling,” he gestures, the Ryu Dragon curling around and sitting on his shoulders.
“This is another dream world, which I am sustaining to keep it from the black depths below. It is connected to both the World of the dreaming and the World of the awake; you are not welcome, regardless of state,” he pauses, pulling his hood back; perhaps such aggression will calm when the intruder realizes he’s dealing with a ‘child’... and he jumps off the roof, landing in front of him, fearless. If he got here due to the Nightmares, he must have followed them through... he’s not sure how to get him back. Ugh. Time to try to be charming or whatever.
“It is very brave of you to leap through a dark portal after these creatures, but very dangerous. Think of this as an afterlife you just slipped into--but not one meant for you. You’re quite lucky you weren’t consumed by darkness,” pokes him in the chest, on his armor; leaning quite close. “You’re trapped here, and neither of us are happy about it. Do you know the name of your World? We need to get you home, before...” a sharp frown. “Well, I’d hate for you to be lost here.”

@kuraussu started following you
Someone blond had arrived to the Castle, wandering the city below. Probably just an inter-dimensional traveler, teleported to the wrong location and got a bit scrambled. He certainly wasn’t a monk, and his garb was... certainly not of this period. Whether that meant he was from an older time or an acting troupe, he was uncertain.
Xehanort stares down at the man from atop a roof in the city, hood up; he leans over to make his voice clearly hear, contempt obvious on his expression. “This is private property, and you are not welcomed. What’s your business here? Speak swiftly, else I remove you from the equation entirely,” lightning sparks threateningly along his left arm.
[ CONTINUE; post ]
A strangled snarl rumbled in his throat , glaring daggers as he struggled under the others weight . The strain on his neck wasn’t painful , not yet , but the force was starting to sting . ‘ The fuck are you gonna do about it ? ’ He mouthed , not fond of the idea of giving Xehanort the satisfaction of hearing his choked voice . He attempted to hit again , thrusting his knee up into his crotch . ‘ I said get off ! ’
“Maybe I should choke the very life from you,” other hand on his throat now, pressure and nails, every intent to suffocate him at least until he was gaping and gasping. There’s a noise when he’s kneed in the crotch, letting go of his throat and rolling off, cupping his balls. “The fuck? That’s playing dirty.”
The last place Vanitas wanted to be was underneath Xehanort and hard as all hell, but guess where he managed to find himself? Growling softly, he swung his leg up to connect with the young Master's side. "Get off of me. And more importantly, get out of my house."
He felt victorious, having the frail Vanitas pinned beneath him. He was fully under his control, no choice to submit to his every whim. --Or, apparently, kick him in the side with enough force to bruise. He hisses in pain, grabbing Vanitas’s throat and sinking nails into it. “You’ll pay for that.”
We’re an English Unicornis party in NAUX looking for a few new members! If you want Gold Crowns and have a passion for LUX collection, we want you! We’ve got a ton of LV99s, we just need more people hittin’ them and absorbing down that sweet LUX. Message or send an ask to unicornorts or chiunion with your ID#, in-game username, and your Discord handle. (We’d prefer messages, as tumblr can eat asks.) Be sure you have a NOVA of LV150+ and are available for at least two bonus times before applying. If you’ve applied before, don’t be afraid to apply again!
Unicornis Party for Crowns
A bit late in the week, but we’re lower than expected rank-wise due to losing a few members last month. (Lotsa people wanted to go off and mentor their friends who started playing because of 2.8.) So we have three slots open that we want filled ASAP!
January crown week we ranked 18th, and December we ranked 14th. We’d like to keep the security and stability up, hence our desire for some LUX-thirsty members. We already have a few members with LV99 raid bosses and several others with LV70+ that’ll be there by this weekend.
We have Key Art #1 partner medal (+7 SP) that makes grinding RBs much more effective, and an entire list of utility medals and guilted Tier 3 medals, all unique! There’s also a couple members with HD Ursula for HS Event (though they’re not up right now, so you’ll have to wait until next week!).
You can check out our join page for the form to submit. I’d generally say that having LV150+ Nova should prove to us that you are strong enough to handle yourself. But most of all, you must have a lust for LUX! Be available for at least half the prime times! Regarding our party structure, we mostly have very high-end f2p and c2p in our group, with a few whales in the mix–so it’s unlikely you’ll be lower than our lowest or higher than our highest, so don’t worry about not fitting in. <3
Message, submit, or send an ask with the form if you’re interested!
