PLEASEE I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT PAUL AND PAT 🫣 Does Pat have deeper roots on his want for the leadership to be given to him that stems from more then thinking Tord isnt a good fit for it? Also Does Paul have darker desires to do more then ask questions about the human body? So at the end of the day, Pat and Tord have a similar way of thinking which is why they both clash so much. Both have an inflated sense of self that kinda puts the thoughts or feelings of others out of their mind... for a little at least.
Pat thinks Tord is just a crazy nerd skirt-chaser who's image of himself and charisma is grand enough to build a cult-following.
What pisses patryck off the most is that Tord is GOOD at what he does and his insane theories always end up proven. Tord can't ever be humbled if he's always RIGHT.
And thats what makes Patryck so angry all the time. He feels that without himself, Tord's plans would fall apart, and in a way they would. Pat is in charge of all the comms, recons and making sure everything is working properly behind the scenes.
But Pat worked his way up to right hand. He's so close but in the end, he doesn't have Tord's crazy way of thinking. His plans, his inventions, his drive they are all Tord's. He can't invent a time machine or a robot or plan an attack so elaborate and large it takes over half the country.
But because Edd doesn't exist, there was no harpoon to launch itself directly into a prototype robot to expose a weak spot in the engineering.
Edd was never present to humble Tord, Tom wasn't there to challenge Tord, and Matt wasn't there to keep tord guessing.
Tord is now in hiding because of the flaws in his systems and his weak points never being exposed to him. Pat blames himself a little for that. Because in his head, he's already the leader.
TLDR: Both of them are so egotistical that they believe that there isn't enough room on the imaginary pedestal they made up for both of them.
MOVING ON TO PAUL'S DARK THOUGHTS
yes. @flygutzz helped me with this one i'm sure you can tell.
So yeah Paul has a lot of thoughts about taking things apart, specifically bodies. Despite this, he doesn't like to view himself as a monster, he's just fascinated by it. He'll listen to Yanov talk about the furry fandom with a happy face, and then bring up "degloving" like its no big deal.
The rest have learned to sorta try and get Paul to stop talking about it by just straight up being direct abt their discomfort, but at the end of the day he just wants someone to talk to about it
However, this doesn't make him completely innocent. He still finds it hard to understand why people are so unnerved by cutting limbs off something. He's not stupid he just sorta doesn't have the empathy for it.
He's still a sweet guy! He's just macabre.
