Hey everyone! So the GSA at my school is one who is actively working to make life of LGBT people easier. We’re trying to get things like dental dams sold in our local stores (rather than just condoms), we’re trying to get a more inclusive (and not abstinence only) sex ed going, and we’re making packets for the teachers to hopefully help them to better understand what it is like to be LGBT.
On that note, if you have anything you think we should probably include in out hand out packet things, please let me know because we’re trying to make this the best thing we possibly can.
So far, we have decided on having a transgender page. This will explain what to do if a student tells you that they are trans and have expressed a want to go by a different name and or pronouns. We have also decided that we want to explain they/them as being used for a single person rather than a group.
We have also decided to do a section on what to do if you suspect that a student is LGBT. The main focus of that one is not asking about it and not talking to anyone else about it.
Another thing is that we’ve decided to create a how to on how to react in general when a student comes out to you with things that my GSA feel like are important (like not acting surprised, but not acting NOT surprised, ya know. Abby from Love, Simon pretty much nailed it).
We’re also going to include resources like books to read, YouTubers to watch, LGBT specific suicide hotlines, and things like that.
Again, if you have any further details or suggestions, please share because we’re trying to get something put together that will end up helping out a lot of students that come through our school.

Hello everyone and welcome to this brand new account!. We are Not My Choice, an account dedicated to trying to break the stigma of mental health and bringing LGBT issues to light.
We have a book on Wattpad here that shares the stories of a few people who have come forward and allowed us to share. We are always looking for more to share so if you’re interested let us know and we will get you set up as soon as possible.
Our Instagram (however inactive) can be found here if you’re interested in that.
If you need or want to talk to anyone, feel free to message us either here, on Wattpad, or on Instagram and we will get to you as soon as possible.
Let us know what you would like to see on this blog and we will make it happen.
