ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds

I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study

after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines

et voila

and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)

Yeah the Crow(<crow's name). Gen find it in the forest with broken wings and wanted to eat it but couldn't make himself to kill the bird. So they partners in crime now! Crow also disturbingly good at talking in human.

With this re-design, I am sure someone is going to see him for the first time and wonder if he is an actual freaking kitsune with the fox tails and “ears”, and the presence of the crow might give a stronger impression of Gen having walked out of some kind of mythology.

Oh definitely he would lean into it so hard, that Senku would be having a breakdown at the side cause he can understand the villagers falling for it but the morden timers???

He understands Yo, maybe a few others but Niki?? Ukyo?? And he is pretty sure hyoga is just going along with it due to a deal with Gen or something.

He would put a stop to it if Gen wasn’t making full use of it for his manipulations (which is mostly in his favour) and damn does he looks Smug about it

Also why does Gen have a Crow?? Did he tame it? In the time he was out? And why was the crow which he knows has the intelligence of a 7 year old child helping Gen with his magic tricks.

No one believes that he's a god (Except for Magma and Yo) and Ishigami villagers don't even know what a kitsune is(?) He have a massive trickster vibes in design but that's all. It's just another mask for people to look at.

As for the Crows reason is surviving. It's smart enough to understand that "if you stick to that human you survive".

Yay I'm finally done with my AU redesign for Senku! Here's some notes:

Made him a bit buffer (but stamina still shit) because I'm not really catch with how he made a whole ass spear arsenal and tree house alone at begining of manga if he canonically weak.

Boy those shoes. Those soft fucking potato sacks is NOT the most practical choice in your situation Senku my boy. Yuzuriha totally read Senku and Taiju a lecture about story of the shoes once and he never forget it.

Yuzurihas talks about ancient sewing techniques is sure save him when he woke up ass naked in a wild.
