I've sent in a load of propaganda but for our own enjoyment I'll also add that same propaganda to this post :)
before I created this blog I was debating whether I should create just a general blog for everything ever or a fandom blog specifically for sparks. and then I realized that every thought that comes out my head has something to do with sparks so it would be kind of pointless in the end

first encounter with the classic Ron Mael shuffle….
I’ve been taking up boxing and it becomes about 200% more fun if I listen to whomp that sucker while I do… something something “immersing myself in the sport”
other thing making me giggle to myself in the middle of my shift today was repeatedly rotating the phrase 'straight john waters' irt ron mael in my head
there’s potential for a beautiful friendship here….
Sparks have mentioned today that the designer of their new live album was Julie Vlasak after a lot of pressure from fans.
I don’t think it was her explicit intention to use ai, but upon reverse image searching the astronauts featured on the album cover, it’s very easy to find near-identical stock photos and stickers online that are made with ai.
I can understand that not everybody is able to identify gen AI at a glance, but these are very clearly labelled. Yes, I am disappointed, but I overall believe in her talents as an artist. I don’t know if I would exactly call it fair to devalue her work, either; the album cover has been seemingly made through photo manipulation —using AI stock photos in her efforts or otherwise.
I would like to see the band address this in some way, but I don’t think they’re willingly using AI to make this cover. I dont think its fair to denounce them or decide that they’ve suddenly chosen to start supporting AI with the release of this album, and I definitely don’t think it’s fair to accuse them of being “secretive.” this album is still a very new announcement.

- Singing in the shower
- Goofing off
- Prayin' for a party
- Pretending to be drunk
- Pulling rabbits out of a hat
- Running up a tab at the hotel for the fab
- Tearing the place apart
- Falling in love with myself again

Good question! I've thought about it, but realized that ultimately I like to just do things my own way. You know, just dick around - that's all I do now really. I could even say that it can be a little bit like fun sometimes.
how inspiring — I’ve often thought “When will I get to do it my way?” myself. Hearing your example makes me feel giddy giddy! unfortunately, I can try with all my might, but i still want to be like everybody else. being likeable and popularity are both so important to me.

my fav thing about early sparks is how ron writes all these witty, audacious, surreal lyrics and then gives him to his brother who sings in a register only dogs can hear and an accent no one on the planet has
