If it meant earning a vacation sometime soon, Karat would put up with anything.
It wasn’t that the DLN felt overworked or anything, no. It wasn’t issues with his coworkers, either, or even a case of missing his family. (Which he did, but not enough to seriously consider allowing himself bodily harm just to get out of work, of course.) At least... It wasn’t an issue with any humans he worked with.
Diamond Woman was lovely-- Both in personality and appearance. She was fun to work with, learned quickly, and practically lit up the room around her once she got comfortable. The perfect replacement for one expired Karat Light-- Though it wasn’t that he was supposed to be dead and her taking his place that put the robot in pink off. No...
As rude as it probably sounded, it was that Diamond was... Well, a girl. And he... Was not. Well... Karat didn’t think so, anyways! But the fact of the matter was that once she’d turned up, he’d began to wonder-- Why did they do that, anyways? Had they flipped the replacements for his other siblings, too, or was it just Diamond...?
...Just what decided gender for a Robot Master, anyways? Was it predetermined by the creator, or did the randomizer in the IC Chip have a say in it...? Did a robot brought online as male have to stay male...? Even if it was starting to feel like there was a mistake somewhere? If it wasn’t getting in the way of their job, it would be fine to present as something else, wouldn’t it? Who decided this? Hmm...
The rose-haired youth had been pondering this for weeks now, but had gotten nowhere. And it’s what he’s doing right now whilst walking home from another oddly uncomfortable day, though the sight of a smoothie bar not too far off catches his eye, and he changes his course accordingly. Perhaps something sweet would help put him back at ease... And once he got home, he’d maybe try talking to Neo about this-- Or bounce ideas off Flourish via text...
Unfortunately, the detour would serve to teach Karat Light that one ought to be very careful what they wished for.
