And none of that are character flaws, it's her ideals, and she strives to respect that and not let life force her out of what she believes in

The discourse I find lacking on the new Wuthering Heights movie is how Bella Swan would react.

Give me Book!Bella, Movies!Bella, and Fanon!Bella. Do they all agree? Do they fight over it? Is Book!Bella the only one invested in the adaptation?

How much does Edward have to hear about it? Does it make him glad for the first time that he can’t hear Bella’s thoughts?

Is Recipe-site trolling her mother?

Has Alice had a vision of the box office numbers and refuses to tell Bella?

Is Carlisle chiming in with his personal experience of living through the late 18th century and Brontë years? Does it back up anything a Bella has been preaching?

but what if Obi Wan was so unsure of where his life was going, about wether or not he wanted to be a Jedi that he desperately wanted Satine to ask him? Because if she did, and he regretted it, it wouldn’t be his fault. It would be hers and he could live with himself easier even if he loved her.

but what if Satine knew this? For this reason and because she knew he was meant to be a Jedi, she never asked. She would not be the reason he lost everything, the source of his regret and guilt. She knew what he didn’t: that he was meant to be a Jedi. Even if she wanted him to stay, she could never make herself ask for it. No matter how much begged in the pouring rain.

She couldn’t. Not now. Not after the war, not after the uncertainty and the unstable leadership she had established. They had different paths now, and no matter how much his tears hurt to see, her veil obscured the most of it. People always assume you can’t see when hidden behind one, but Satine always found she could see just fine. It was just easier to pretend she didn’t.
