I was planning out a much different idea, but it was not turning out like I had hoped. So here's a Sleepy Simon
So I did post the sketches of these quite some time ago, but I finally got around to actually coloring them in...
I'm still figuring things out with this particular dynamic, but the gist of the idea was: Simon can get particular cravings due to mutation stuffs, and Grace being the oh-so-eager Science Freak he is, allows Simon to satisfy those cravings; for science of course. . . . Things don't go exactly as planned, but Simon is satiated and that's all Grace could ever hope for. The rest of it however, he can unpack all of that tomorrow.

Well after milling about, I am finally putting together my own refs for both Project Hail Mary and Iron Lung before Artfight, but here's the progress I've done so far for Grace's ref!

I am currently working on some references for both Grace and Simon, but while I'm in a better place to relax again, why not keep that motivation going with some requests? And it doesn't just have to be PHM or IL either; I am trying to get myself familiar with drawing everyone, so if y'all wanna request some Rygos and/or Mark Egos, go for it! Eridians are welcome too! Feel free to comment on this post or send me an ask directly!

OP, this OC is beautiful - point to note:
This eridian could not have be slept on until it was a large eridian, so this might have been seen as a ostegensis imperfecta type disease amongst eridians(FRAGILE), until they grew past their support threshold. This might be why they don't mind being climbed on; they didn't get to as a kid.
Can you imagine how Grace would cry if he found out the full story of Archie??

I am so glad I remembered this post (I nearly lost it within the notes) But this was so lovingly put ;-; I think Archy's younger years on Erid was definitely something I want to cover and draw, eventually. Here is a little bit of my ramblings that may or may not stick: With Sandstone being the way it is, I would like to think that their carapace was definitely fragile early on, and they weren't as coordinated with their body and limbs as they are now. Most of their time as a pebble was just them learning how to move and not tip over as often, maybe inching along like a caterpillar on their more bad days. Their carapace has eventually hardened enough so tip-overs and crashes no longer damages them, but they still have those old scuff marks/scars on their underside. So after years of others seeing Archy as fragile as they do, it really motivated it to prove they aren't that fragile little pebble anymore.

So It's been a minute since I've done any art for Archy here, and I WILL hopefully make more soon, but here's a small addition; a height chart!
I figured it would be better to give others a better idea just how sizable Archy is compared to everyone.
I've been seeing some very fun/cursed Eridian Ocs circling around, and I wanted to finally toss in one of my own..! Meet Tall Creature, Archy!
