This will allow you to "double dip" your revenue, just like the other greedy streamers (I'm looking at you, Disney + and Netflix) by adding advertising revenue to a subscription-based model. Remember when TV was free? The networks got their operating revenue and profits from ad sales. Subscription-based models were originally sold to the consumer on the premise that the subscription fee REPLACED the ad revenue. Eventually cable and satellite started sneaking ads onto their channels (and movie theatres began showing commercials before the movie). People briefly complained, but the enshitification stuck, because, where else were we going to get our entertainment from? Ooh, streaming channels! Offered to the public as a new way to pay only for the stuff we want to see, without having to sit through those pesky commercials breaks every 5 minutes! Oh, wait, hang on...
