Oh, this was too much fun.
Even though she was just beginning to learn about them, these human creatures FASCINATED her; their habits, their mannerisms – every little thing had her mind in a somewhat euphoric state. Yes, this was far more interesting than watching from afar… she needed to get hands on with her toys if she were to pull them apart and see their true nature.
Silver eyes observed their subject carefully - had he noted their change in colour? This detective as they called him, the smartest one in the WORLD, would he think anything of the shifting of red hues to their now celestial like state? Oh, she could wonder ( if only she could pick apart his brain and see how it functioned ), but perhaps it was the thrill of the chase that TRULY excited the creature. Long, slender ears drooped as he spoke to her, disappointed by the question – was it really not obvious?
‘ They say you’re the most intelligent man -’ no, he was no MAN – a mere boy at most, ‘ alive; I’m not interested in anyone else.’ She had learned that these mortals enjoyed FLATTERY, though the corner of her mouth quivered at the mere thought of complimenting the stranger before her. It meant nothing, though in order to observe she would have to play to his weaknesses – if only she could find such things. ‘ You like puzzles, don’t you? Work it out. ’
the rate at which this creature had seemed to figure out L’s usual mindset surprised him into silence for a moment. looking out around the area, clear of people, as a little gust of wind hit him right in the neck, interrupting the train of thought that was so close to consuming him already. this was WEIRD, to say the least.
returning to his previous, focused state took a minute or so, and L finally propped a thumb, facing outward, on the parting of his lips. somehow, the placement there was a mixture of comforting and that of helping --- often it made him think quicker and think more conscisely -- a bad habit, to any OUTSIDER, of course. L wondered what this shinigami would think of his very human mannerisms and little quirks.
it takes a moment before he’s even ready to speak again, being defeated by finding no SOLID conclusion, and with the irritating gust of wind that chilled his spine. why did this have to be OUTSIDE? ‘ so, intelligence has something to do with why you’ve come to me with this... quite alluding thing. perhaps you want me to use it, or perhaps --- DISPOSE of it?’
