Cannot believe this has to be said but for crying out loud, don’t bootleg Starkid content.

Especially don’t bootleg content that was specifically behind a paywall.

Especially don’t have “fuck you Starkid this ain’t gonna be just for backers” in the description.

Starkid posts all its musicals for free (FOR FREE!) on YouTube, something that is INCREDIBLY generous of them. This means that that’s where they get a chunk of their profit from.

Now for something like Workin Boys, that was locked behind a paywall. Why? Because it was for people who supported them with profit. For a large company, I can understand this being a frustration. But Starkid is not a large company. They are, in fact, a very small company.

When you take something they got profit out of and uploaded it for people to watch for free, that means that they aren’t getting that money. That means there will be NO MORE things like Workin Boys.

If you wait, there’s a good chance Starkid will release it on YouTube eventually. On THEIR channel, where they can profit off of it. If you take advantage of them, they will not do fun things for us.

Technoblade never dies

Not genloss but still so important to me. It’s been a year since the video “so long nerds”

It feels weird to say I miss him, when I didn’t know him personally, but I really do miss him. He truly did help me get through some of my hardest months. I really wasn’t doing well when I discovered him, but his videos somehow made the hard things going on around me a little more bearable. His humour, his voice, his ability to keep going even when things weren’t going his way was and is a huge comfort. I can’t really put into words what he meant to me, but he really meant a lot. Still does. He’s done so much for us.

I don’t think I expected to grieve so much for someone I never met. But there is just so much about him that’s so dang relatable and inspiring and makes me feel connected. I don’t think I even expected him to die. I was so sure he’d be fine. I was so sure it was just a hard season of life and it would be a story that he’d use to make jokes to make us laugh. But then a year ago that video showed up. I put off watching it until late in the night. Didn’t want it to be true. But it was. And I’ve been missing his uploads ever since(however infrequent). I’ll watch his old videos, I always will, they are beautiful memories. But that’s what’s sad, there will be no more new memories to make with him. So I will treasure what he has left us with. And remember every time he made my hard days a tiny bit better.

Just wanted to say thank you guys for supporting generation loss because with how everything is going on the internet if you weren’t so damn supportive of it I’d be very scared of my career right now with where these sites seem to be trending.

Gonna try and figure out some ways to really get it going quickly so that I can make it the main thing I work on other than streaming :) getting an actual project manager for it soon which I’m SUPER pumped for! So thank you guys again :D

Genloss deserves more

K I saw someone else post about it and I went to find it and lost it, but if I see it again I’ll reblog

Anyways. Ranboo, and the rest of the cast for that matter, deserve some freaking recognition for genloss and all the time and effort and passion that was put into it. They rented a whole freaking mall for it, ranboo got 2nd degree burns because of it, and the whole thing was so incredibly detailed and made with purpose. It twitch or some other content creator reward thing (I don’t know this stuff) doesn’t give ranboo and the show some sort of recognition I’m going to be so upset. This has been years in the making and deserves so much hype and support

Thank you Ranboo and crew for putting your everything into creating this and I can’t wait to see what comes next

I think it’s be funny if those I’d us obsessed with genloss just start to doodle or scratch the genloss logo on everything we can put it in. Preferably don’t break any laws, avoid the Mona Lisa and such. And just spread it everywhere so people will begin to question what it means and also just in support of ranboo and the show

There’s a decent amount of us, I bet we could actually do something people start to uneasily notice. If not get them to join us, at least we can scare them a bit with this random symbol popping up places(carved into benches, written on recycled Starbucks cups, scratched into other surfaces)

Spread the trauma. Make them watch it. Give SFM a bigger audience

carving the symbol into benches sounds cool until you remember that if you're caught you can be criminally charged. for this to be widespread enough to actually make people curious/aware of genloss, there would definitely be legal consequences for at least a few of us. people would likely also assume that it's hate/gang related which both comes along with additional laws and guidelines about removal, and might prompt a more significant law enforcement response.

it's potentially alright to put the symbol on whiteboards at school, draw it in chalk on local sidewalks, wear pins with the symbol, paint it onto your clothes in bleach, stuff like that. use discretion, take into account where you live and who you're around, and be aware that you might legitimately scare people and face consequences for it.

but definitely don't do anything more under any circumstances. don't do anything permanent (or semi-permanent). be careful not to actually scare the people around you (lest they call law enforcement for fear of potential violence bc of the unknown ominous symbol).

i know the risk is minimal, but the risk is also not zero. it's just not worth it. let's not do anything that could legally be considered mischief.

Yes I agree. We don’t want to actually harm people or vandalize property. And we definitely do not want to make people feel unsafe. Speaking from someone who is generally quite paranoid, the last thing I want to do is make someone worried about a group scratching symbols into their neighborhood fences and parks. Genloss has so far proven to be an amazing fandom and we don’t want to harm the way a newcomer may look at it. Be respectful, be responsible, if you are doodling the logo, avoid permanent places that aren’t just pieces or paper. Be aware of how people could perceive it and if people ask tell them what it is without trying to be secretive or sketchy about it

i think this has huge fanart potential though!! like a dense city scene with showfall symbols and merch and billboards all over the place. the idea of showfall being completely woven into the fabric of society yk? if showfall could be seen in public as often as nike swooshes and apple products and mcdonalds’ golden arches. how far might showfall’s control extend? if they have so much power within the walls of the abandoned mall, why wouldn’t that power extend outside as well? imagine if people in-universe were so devoted to showfall that the logo was spray-painted onto every single empty wall

Also yes that fanart idea sounds so amazing!! I mean just imagine the symbol almost glaring out at your from everywhere, absolutely terrifying. I could even see like the goo from Slimecicle getting stuck to places that mysteriously make that logo or wires from the security monster secretly twisted in someway to represent the logo. Also imagine everyday window panes with the logo?? There’s so much potential for it to be anywhere

escape au where all they want is to forget about their time at showfall but it’s everywhere. escape au where charlie just wants to be charlie, not slimecicle, but kids wearing showfall media shirts keep coming up to him saying “goo goobie!!” and asking for selfies. escape au where strangers compliment ranboo on his “acting skills” every time he goes to the grocery store. escape au where sneeg can’t go out in public around halloween time because half of the plastic skeleton decorations have name tags labelled “frank” and all he can see is the rotting flesh and dried blood of his friend. the popularity of showfall is so tragic because even if they did manage to escape, they’d never really be free.

The showfall media and genloss logo trigger something in them that’s more than just trauma, it still has some sort of control over them. Some may be able to fight it off more than others. Ranboo and Charlie and Sneeg are not just battling these devastating flashbacks, but also the urge to go back, make the other cast members go back with them, and maybe even gather new potential cast members.

There is no escaping showfall media.

Escape au where they develop a permanent Color blindness to red and green, unable to tell when something is really that Color. Charlie pricking his finger on something and panics when he thinks his blood is green

There is no escaping showfall media

Even if they make it out physically, even if it for once is real, it will never seem real. They will always feel like there’s still a chance they’re just part of another episode. They constantly contradict they’re intitial decisions and thought processes, forever terrified that someone is making that decision for them

If all three of them escape, if somehow niki and Austin and the other streamers made it out, they would never trust each other. They’d lose contact for fear that one could still be working for SFM. They’re lose contact in case they themselves were unknowingly working for SFM

a journal would be SO GOOD. like, it has the potential to be so compelling because there are really good reasons for the characters to be absolutely Going Through It. fics that completely create the characters’ suffering from scratch definitely can be really good, but it’s so special when the suffering is built into the canon and then applied in a new context yk. 

goddamn it,, i very well may actually start writing a fic,,,,, although of everyone involved i only really know ranboo well enough to write a fic abt him but i think a fic about charlie would be so so so much fun to write. i might marathon a bunch of charlie streams with fic writing in mind,, or maybe i’ll write ranboo after all,,

I think it’s be funny if those I’d us obsessed with genloss just start to doodle or scratch the genloss logo on everything we can put it in. Preferably don’t break any laws, avoid the Mona Lisa and such. And just spread it everywhere so people will begin to question what it means and also just in support of ranboo and the show

There’s a decent amount of us, I bet we could actually do something people start to uneasily notice. If not get them to join us, at least we can scare them a bit with this random symbol popping up places(carved into benches, written on recycled Starbucks cups, scratched into other surfaces)

Spread the trauma. Make them watch it. Give SFM a bigger audience

carving the symbol into benches sounds cool until you remember that if you're caught you can be criminally charged. for this to be widespread enough to actually make people curious/aware of genloss, there would definitely be legal consequences for at least a few of us. people would likely also assume that it's hate/gang related which both comes along with additional laws and guidelines about removal, and might prompt a more significant law enforcement response.

it's potentially alright to put the symbol on whiteboards at school, draw it in chalk on local sidewalks, wear pins with the symbol, paint it onto your clothes in bleach, stuff like that. use discretion, take into account where you live and who you're around, and be aware that you might legitimately scare people and face consequences for it.

but definitely don't do anything more under any circumstances. don't do anything permanent (or semi-permanent). be careful not to actually scare the people around you (lest they call law enforcement for fear of potential violence bc of the unknown ominous symbol).

i know the risk is minimal, but the risk is also not zero. it's just not worth it. let's not do anything that could legally be considered mischief.

Yes I agree. We don’t want to actually harm people or vandalize property. And we definitely do not want to make people feel unsafe. Speaking from someone who is generally quite paranoid, the last thing I want to do is make someone worried about a group scratching symbols into their neighborhood fences and parks. i think this has huge fanart potential though!! like a dense city scene with showfall symbols and merch and billboards all over the place. the idea of showfall being completely woven into the fabric of society yk? if showfall could be seen in public as often as nike swooshes and apple products and mcdonalds’ golden arches. how far might showfall’s control extend? if they have so much power within the walls of the abandoned mall, why wouldn’t that power extend outside as well? imagine if people in-universe were so devoted to showfall that the logo was spray-painted onto every single empty wall

I could even see like the goo from Slimecicle getting stuck to places that mysteriously make that logo or wires from the security monster secretly twisted in someway to represent the logo. Also imagine everyday window panes with the logo?? There’s so much potential for it to be anywhere

escape au where all they want is to forget about their time at showfall but it’s everywhere. escape au where charlie just wants to be charlie, not slimecicle, but kids wearing showfall media shirts keep coming up to him saying “goo goobie!!” and asking for selfies. escape au where strangers compliment ranboo on his “acting skills” every time he goes to the grocery store. escape au where sneeg can’t go out in public around halloween time because half of the plastic skeleton decorations have name tags labelled “frank” and all he can see is the rotting flesh and dried blood of his friend. the popularity of showfall is so tragic because even if they did manage to escape, they’d never really be free.

Yessss but plot twist. They appear to have escaped but they never will. The showfall media and genloss logo trigger something in them that’s more than just trauma, it still has some sort of control over them. Some may be able to fight it off more than others. Ranboo and Charlie and Sneeg are not just battling these devastating flashbacks, but also the urge to go back, make the other cast members go back with them, and maybe even gather new potential cast members.

Escape au where they develop a permanent Color blindness to red and green, unable to tell when something is really that Color. Charlie pricking his finger on something and panics when he thinks his blood is green

Canonical vs. Irl

Anybody else think about how we all doing our best to support ranboo and show how much we loved the show and really want them to make more but in the same way we are also supporting showfall media to be able to make more sick shows to use us as social experiments and be cruel to the cast members. I know there’s a difference between the irl and canonical but it’s still interesting to think about

We’re still in this social experiment almost. Where we have seen how terrible SFM is and yet still want more

Things get concerning when you start to blur the line between life and reality. A little spooky but it’s fun
