Continuing the idea of church AU with Duke!Medici x priest!Grisha.
Iāve written some fragment for this AU šš English is not my first language so.. sorry for mistakes and poor grammar, ehe~ Enjoy š«¶
Note: Grigory is a full name for Grisha. I thought it was more suitable for this AU.
His hands smelled like incense and dry herbs. Medici closed his eyes for a second, capturing the moment, before tearing his lips away and pressing to the hand his forehead.
"Holy Father", he smiled as usually and straightened up.
"Duke Medici", Father Grigory answered with a nod and a weak smile.
He always smiled like this ā barely noticeable, with only the corner of his thin lips, as if neither be able to nor willing to show more. Medici wondered, how did he smile to the abbeyās children? He has never seen Father close enough to witness it when those boys were playing around him, but was pretty sure that Grigoryās gaze always softened and was filled with warmth.
"Did you want to pray today? I can call for Father Aucucius, if youād like to", asked the priest.
"No need", answered Medici with a smirk.
Heās always thought that Father Aucucius was way too prideful for a mere Deacon. But even if it wasnāt for him, Medici would decline the offer ā after all, he wasnāt here for sermon.
"Iād like to listen to you, Father."
For a moment, Grigoryās gaze stilled, but he took control over himself quickly.
"I see", he tilted his head slightly and the sunlight highlighted his eyes. They looked amber. Mesmerized, Medici parted his lips, he could not tear his gaze away.
"You shouldnāt give such obvious preference to the mere abbots like me, Duke. Well, let's go to the prayer room then, I'll give you a sermon."
Of course, Medici knew what Father Grigory has meant. The Grand Duke of Tuscany, the ruler of Florence, and nephew of the current Pope couldnāt just visit the ordinary abbey to listen to sermon of a specific priest. People mightāve thought he wanted to make the priest an archbishop and promote him to the papal council as his own man to strengthen the familyās power. Father Grigory himself has been always telling Medici that he didnāt want to hold such a high position and that the actions of the Duke put him in a difficult position. Well, Medici sincerely tried to not bring troubles to the priest butā¦ Following the tall, handsome figure of the Father Grigory, he couldnāt help himself from feeling the heat in his heart. He wanted to touch this silk hair and put there a kiss, wanted to stay as close as he could smelling the incense radiating from the Fatherās skin, wanted to drown in the sunny-golden eyes and their warmth. It was his little heaven. The only place Medici wanted to return to no matter how far heās gone.
now that I think about it Grisha to Sasir parallels with Mr. Fool and Mr. World in so many ways
1. Both gods created the other to help exercise their own authority
2. Their dynamic is worshiper and their god
okay thatās only two thereās probably more I swear but more interestingly I also thought of a bunch of Grisha and Klein parallels/contrasts
1. Both are from modern day
2. Both Grisha and Klein represent pillars of the universes (or at least close enough at their prime)
2.5. More interestingly they represent pillars of the universes whose original selves famously hated each other and their hatred and scheming is what caused the two to be transported into lotm and become gods
3. They contrast in terms of Grisha climbing from the ground and Klein being released from the (Chaos Sea being underground vs. the Sefirah Castle being at the top of the spirit world)
4. They both immediately start religions upon arrival
5. They also both lead secret organizations that are literally op (Rose Redemption by technicality and the Tarot Club especially post-coi)
6. Both had to deal with the awakening will within them forcing them away from activity
