unleash me ( wizard's tower as a prison)

I love thinking about how in the game, the player character is referred to as "The Hero of Baldur's Gate" even though it was absolutely a group effort.
Then imagining Gale as a Professor teaching his students and one of them in class one day is like "Mr. Dekarios! Is it true that you're married to the Hero of Baldur's Gate?"
And Gale just looks utterly flabbergasted like, "You do know that I am ALSO one of the Heroes of Baldur's Gate, right?"
Too Sweet
Weaver of wonders - Gale

I never realized this until now, but there’s a nice little dialogue callback/parallel that can happen with Gale’s Act 1 and Act 2 romance scenes.
First, you have to fail the magic lesson with Gale in Act 1 (but don’t fret: if you weren’t already aware, you can resume the romance in a follow-up scene that features one of the sweetest Gale lines in the game).
When you fail the lesson, Gale will say this:
Then, in the Act 2 romance scene, when Gale shows you his Tower and tells you about The Art of the Night, you can comment that you like how he’s ‘remarkably upfront about his intentions.’
And then he’ll say this:
Now, this dialogue can happen whether or not you’ve failed the weave lesson. But I just love the idea that along with this line being an honest confession to Tav about who he is and how he loves, Gale is reassuring Tav that he would never toy with their heart the way that Mystra—a coy, fickle goddess—did with him. 💜
Had the day off, drew a wizard :>
With @miurgen permission, I made a "sexiest man alive" edit on this photo. What an incredible piece of artwork!!

"Only that I find you quite irresistible. Even illuminated by such rotten light as this place produces."
Sister post to this one: “I accept. I’ll marry you, Gale Dekarios!”

“The happiness I never dreamed I could deserve”
I’ve never shared this commission on here that @sh0_sh1n (bluesky and instagram) drew of this beautiful moment last fall. But since these two just had their baby in my fic the timing felt right. 🥹
Please appreciate how pretty Gale’s hair is and his Howl Pendragon outfit
I had the distinct pleasure of commissioning @trashmancer to paint Gale and Rhyme for me, and I have to tell you, I nearly cried when I saw the finished piece. A future moment of happiness for my poor doomed idiots, look! There's a light at the end of the tunnel for them, and it's the light of a warm fireplace, a safe home, a sleepy cuddle. It's there and it's real and they will get there one day
Thank you so, so much @trashmancer I know I already wailed at you over emails but this is such a gift. Thank you 💕
Do you ever think about how Tara spent a year – an entire year – tending to a horribly depressed and traumatised Gale. That she spent so much time and energy going out to find him magical items, bringing them back.
And then maybe one day – after a year! – she finally got him to venture outside again. To walk in the streets with her, maybe take a little trip to the beach.
And maybe she had to cajole him, tell him that yes, something bad happened, but the world isn't laughing at you. Nothing bad will happen if you just... come outside with me. Maybe shave first.
So Gale comes with her, because all his arguments are worn down and he knows she's right. And he's looking around at the water, in the middle of saying You're right, Tara, I needed this.
And this giant nautiloid – the first seen in hundreds or thousands of years - just appears in the sky, hangs there for a moment, hoovers up Gale, and disappears again.
No wonder she's cranky.
