Despite how horrible his father is, he doesn't blame him, flat out refusing to believe his father was a bad person. He was close to his mother and was absolutely heart broken when she decided to leave, clinging to Tonio after her absence. As an adult he sees both Angelica and Vittorio as he kids and tries his best to give him the good life he believes he had- though sometimes he's not very good at it
