The 33-year-old founder and president of Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, Inc. in Philadelphia will appear on a variant cover of “Invincible Iron Man #1.”
“I had never seen a black, woman superhero is crazy because little white boys have so many [with whom they identify]: ‘I want to be Iron Man!’ ‘I want to be Batman!’ ‘I want to be Superman.’ ‘I want to be Han Solo!’ When you are a person of color, you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel to find someone you can identify with. I always felt like I was watching other people’s adventures,”
THAT’S how ya do a cover!! #Love it!

And he was dead ass😭
What pisses me off about this whole encounter is it occurred in the 60s. During or right after the Civil Rights movement. There is no way she was unaware of the injustices against black folk and their struggle to be recognized as human beings. Nowadays when I hear white folk make comments like that I know they are grossly ignorant of history. Yet, here she was living in the midst of one of the most profound and history changing times in history and be totally oblivious. They can’t use the n-word because it was us getting blasted by fire hoses while being called that. They can’t use the n-word because it was us getting strung up in trees while being called n*goers. They can’t use the n-word because it was probably the last thing Emmitt Till heard before he died. They can’t use the n-word because it was the white supremacists’ battle cry before bombing our homes and communities. Never plead ignorance.
No hate, it’s only facts.✊🏿
They are trying with Afros.Unfortunately, I’ve seen it
