As a part of Stern's International Studies Program (ISP) I was able to spend a week in Saigon, Vietnam during Spring Break! It was an amazing experience, and also served as a great flashback to my previous semester in Asia. It was great not only to see the country, but also to explore the way business is done there with 200 other Sternies. I had fun with some old friends, and met some new ones as well. Overall an incredible week
Some photos of Shanghai that I forgot to upload. The first one is Tianzifang, a shopping street in the French Concession. The other ones are from around People's Square, around the Shanghai Museum. So sad that it's almost over!!
Last week Shanghai saw the highest pollution levels in recorded history, reaching almost 600 (New York is usually between 20 and 30). Needless to say, everyone felt quite sick, and it was pretty awful. Thank God we made it through, though!
This semester was about experiences, travel and study, but most importantly, about people. I will never forget hanging out with an amazing group of friends here in Shanghai. While some of us will go back to New York and some will stay in Shanghai, they will always be some of my dearest friends. One more week for home!

This is what I like to call impulse buying. After learning how to play Mahjong in class, I decided to buy one from Taobao (an online marketplace) for about 45 RMB (about US$8). Taking it back home is gonna be an adventure since it’s quite heavy…
I ended up eating scorpion at Nanguoluxiang in Beijing. Crunchy, weird and honestly tasted like nothing.
Last day in Beijing: Visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven
Second day in Beijing: We visited the Great Wall at Mutianyu (and took a slide down!!). We also went to the Summer Palace.
First day in Beijing: We went to the Olympic Park and saw the Bird's Nest. Afterwards, we had an amazing Peking Duck at Ya Wang (Duck King)!
The Google Photos app made this gif without me asking it to, and I think it's pretty cool. Well, as you can guess, I went to Beijing this weekend! I'll post more pictures in a bit.
Pollution can be really bad in Shanghai. A couple of weeks ago it reached 300 particles per minute (a measure of air pollution), which is considered to be hazardous. It made everyone sick, and we were advised to stay indoors! As you can see from the picture, you could barely see anything, and the air tasted/smelled funny.

I also downloaded an app to monitor pollution. While back home we're used to the day being sunny, rainy or cloudy, in Shanghai you must add a fourth option: Polluted.
The Shanghai Metropolitan History Museum under the Oriental Pearl Tower has really cool depictions of the lives of the Shanghainese throughout the city's history.
