Personally, I absolutely adore the paper and bookcloth combination on this bind. I got the cloth a while back for free and I’ve been waiting for a chance to use it, and then my friend Cam got me this paper as a gift! It seemed way too perfect to not use!
This was a very exciting bind, because it gave me the opportunity to try something completely new, gilded edges!!
Although it didn’t turn out perfect, I’m still super proud of how clean it ended up. Plus, I personally think the flaws make it better :D
The typesetting here was very exciting for me. A few months ago Ty held a tattoo contest for the fic, and I couldn’t not use them when I saw the two finalist designs. So I went ahead and contacted the artists, and they both said I could use them!!

@delazeur 's Questions Answered features a prickly 'red' Hawke and the most organic emergence of a throuple I've ever seen (plus, there's never enough Alistair/Anders in my book).
Caralyn's thorn motif ended up on the cover (very fun to paint, I'll have to do more painted covers) and title page(s); & red and gold honestly work for all three of them.
Second book was for a valentine day exchange. I don’t read anything Dramione or HP. But this was a fun one. It’s called Between Us Flows the Nile by thebrightcity. Sadly with the all of the illegal fanbinding that’s been hitting Etsy, the story has been since taken down. But it was fun to experiment with a more 1920’s, art deco Egyptomia feel to this. The story is a 1920s Egypt sort of The Mummy AU. Beautifully written. The lesson I learned with this one is to go with the flow. Enjoy the journey! Also fancy foiled paper doesn’t print well on printers. 😅

I had the chance recently to bind this for @robininthelabyrinth recently and I had a lot of fun with it! I'm not very familiar with the fandom and I had a great time getting to know the characters (albeit an AU version of at least one of them) while figuring out how I would design the book.
The marbled paper I found for the endpages (a red/gold chevron that I thought was reminiscent of a lightning bolt pattern) had such straight, even lines that I got the idea to set one stripe of it as an inset band on the cover. I'm pretty happy with that, might do something similar in future book designs!
One of my auction winners for Fandom Trumps Hate requested this fic for their book. This is not their copy - this is one I made rather quickly because I had that familiar gotta-make-something compulsion. Their typeset will have more thought put into it, not just done in an afternoon to get it printed.
I also won't trim the bottom margin twice on the winner's copy. Oops.

Art Heist, Baby! was one of the very first jegulus fics I read, and eventually became my second-ever bind. The original binding for this fic was done over the course of a single weekend, which makes me cringe a little now—but I am still so proud of this typeset and the bind itself, despite its flaws.

Eventually, I found that the structure of my previous binding was less-than-ideal, and I decided to rebind my copy. Given that I couldn't change the typeset, I spent a lot of time deciding on a cover design, and eventually settled on using Ivan Aivazovsky's Ship on Stormy Seas (a painting synonymous with this fic) as inspiration.
The process of turning the boat from this painting into something that could be used with a single shade of HTV was difficult, but I eventually settled upon a design I was happy with after messing around in Illustrator for a couple weeks.
When I removed the cover from this bind, I also trimmed and painted the edges, sewed double-core french endbands (two-tone, to match the bookcloth), and reinforced the spine (though I couldn't do much for the pre-existing swell). Overall, I am thrilled with how it looks, and with how my original typeset fits with my more developed design style.

Good Omens 2 appreciation post for that moment after Nina has just rocked Crowley's world with the revelation that no, he isn't slick and yes, it is glaringly obvious to everyone just how head over heels in love with Aziraphale he is.
Crowley takes himself off to the french restaurant and is drowning his sorrows in a bottle of wine while having the realisation that he's been following the angel around like a lovesick puppy all day with no other possible agenda other than to be around him.
And then he sees Aziraphale and whistles him over but the angel is too busy to join him for a wine in the middle of the day and Crowley tries to divert questions by complaining that he's scared Gabriel/Jim is gonna smite him and he'll be well and truly smote, no, smoted? Smited? What's the word he's looking for?
And the angel gives him a knowing look and says:
"Smitten, I believe."
PERFECTION.
GRAMMATICAL CORRECTION AND DIAGNOSIS IN A SENTENCE.
AZIRAPHALE JUST READ HIM LIKE A HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE BOOK AND DOESN'T EVEN REALISE HE HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD.
This is my new favourite double entendre.
Smitten as the past tense of Smite. And the exact reason Crowley is drinking in the middle of the day.
He's realising he's smitten, your honour.
I hope Neil closed the laptop with a dramatic flourish after writing that line. Hell if I'd written a moment that perfect I'd take a victory lap of the kitchen and then call someone to tell them how clever I'd been before I pop.
