Adding on to yesterday’s post because apparently this is my algorithm now. I didn’t even know about this blind but that checks. And as she says it says something more about the culture itself and not just her.
She is surrounded by enablers including her own family. I think this is why I give her grace to when she has done some shitty things in the past. Her brother became this drug addict and he rides his sister’s coattails any chance he can. Idk what he even does, he’s just famous for being her brother.
Then you have the parents. Her parents are divorced. Her mom lives so far up her ass and loves the attention herself. And even though she’s clearly struggling, her mom even leaves a public comment on her video stating “you look amazing!! I love this!” What a weird thing to say after days of people saying woah something is not ok and even her IG promo post gets flagged.
And because I’ve fell down this rabbit hole, apparently her dad is the worse offender. They actually fell out of touch for years after she cut him off and I guess only recently made up. Fans said that her dad loved the clout and fame. He would constantly talk to fans online and would do lives on his IG or whatever. In one live, he called her on the phone, put her on speakerphone and within minutes she found out he was doing a live at that moment where thousands heard what she thought was a private conversation. She cut him off after that I guess and a couple years later mended whatever their relationship is. But it just proves the money and fame is more important than their own daughter/sister.
Of course no one is going to publicly shame her but there is no concern, no stepping back saying this isn’t right. I think of the fact she was a child star involved with Nickelodeon when all that Dan stuff happened. And sorry idk I think it’s weird when parents let their kids get involved in the business regardless. Like the kid could want it but I guarantee the mom wants it more. So there’s already that tone. They overly sexualized her character for a kids show and while it’s her experience to tell if something happened or not, her parents obviously didn’t protect her. I mean even when she released one of her first albums, her mom was in a video saying how great it is and she can’t get over how good it is. Like ok mom glad you’re proud and supportive of your teenage daughter singing about getting railed so hard she can’t walk right.
Celebrities become ecosystems and no one wants to lose access or be cut off. It stops being about the person and more about the business and what they can do for everyone. I’ve always said money doesn’t necessarily change the person but it sure changes the people around you.
It makes sense why she might develop a disorder now. It’s about control. She has no control over anything because her family is like more, more, more!! And obviously her team makes money off her and if she’s not working, they lose out. She has zero support.
