Bobbi is being moved to misunderstoodcreatures.
Steve followed her quietly out into the hallway, each step taking what felt like herculean effort. Whether it was due to the deterioration of the serum or to the strained relationship between he and Bobbi, he didn’t know. It was likely a mix of the two, with emphasis bending toward the tension for the moment. With all his might, he wished for things to go back to the way they had been. When they were happy. When things were (mostly) uncomplicated.
That would never happen.
Even if they managed to find peace with themselves and one another, their relationship would never have the capacity to go back to the way it had been. There would always be lingering memories of these times, and a potential fear that the cause for the tension between them might surge back to life at any given moment.
He barely waited until she had spoken to break in with commentary of his own. “You’re the donor,” he said, a bit of unbidden accusatory intonation seeping into his words. “You know you could die, Bobbi. It isn’t just about me anymore. Why didn’t you tell me?”
And then, one more stupid, stupid comment slipped past his lips before he had the good sense to stop it from doing so. “And I never meant—He’s my past. Whatever was there before, it’s long gone by now and I—I never meant to hurt you like that.”
Bobbi listened, head tilting to her side and quieting the huff that was threatening to escape her lips. The roll of eyes remained though, "good one Sherlock."
"I am not going to. As I said, the donor's procedure is less invasive and quite fast. It has less complications than an apedenctomy. I've been through worse. I'll be fine."
A big part of her was upset about the fact that she was trying to reassure him; he had hurt her more than what he could possibly know, more than she'd let anyone know. "It's not personal, I would do it whether it was you or Bruce or anyone else in the team. And I've already signed the papers. Now, my bone marrow can go to you or someone else, but the donation is happening."
And then he spoke again, she could feel her eyes going glassy and her jaw aching from how hard she was clenching it. Wetting her lower lip and sucking at it for a moment, she tried not to go red with rage and actually make sense with her words. Breathing out through her mouth, she took the smallest step closer to him.
She wanted to be angry, she really did.
"You lost him and now he's back and that is... confusing. I would be confused."
Clearing her throat she went on, "Clint is my past and a member of the team and I--I never called you Clint because when I am--because when I was with you I was with you."
Breathing out again, she took another step closer to him and pressed her lips to his cheek, staying there a second too long and trying with all her might not to cry. "Sign the papers. It may not even work but it is your best chance."
@thcslavicshadow (v2 clintasha / v3ww, aka bucky was at the rescue raft thing)
Being locked up was never good. He had the layout mapped in his head already, he was pretty confident he could crack the code to check where they were holding Wanda or crack someone’s head enough to get the intel. Now all he had to do was wait for the next guard shift change and work his magic. He had escaped worse places.
There was no need for it when the lights went off and the Cap came in, shieldless. He said Buck was getting Wanda and that the ship was ready and he just knew who was piloting it.
Once he walked into the ship, he rushed towards Nat, “took you long enough.”
Clint’s words struck a nervous chord in him. He couldn’t imagine that it would lead to anything good. The entire group, by now, knew that he and Wanda were…involved. And he knew how Clint thought of Wanda. He couldn’t imagine it would go any better than the conversation with Steve. He just had to approach it far differently if he wanted to avoid getting shot with an arrow. “Yeah,” he said. “I’m good to go.”
Clint could see the fear in Bucky’s eyes--or at least he hoped he saw that. “Bucky, this isn’t going to hurt, I’m serious man,” he joked patting him on the back. “I mean it may get hot at some point when we’re getting the good but according to cat man it should go smooth--”
Starting to walk out of the compound and towards the van he narrowed his eyes and stopped. “Oh I know. You think this is about you and Wanda, right? It isn’t. I mean, I don’t need to warn you, I’m sure you already know that if you hurt her, well, I never miss.”
“I actually wanted to talk to you about uhm--something that happened to me a couple of years back.”
“I’m totally fine. And I mean that in the most sincere and non- ‘I-say-I’m-fine-but-am-totally- not’ way. Promise. But hey dude, I’m glad you said something. Not a whole lot of people here would. They’re all grumps.”
“I think you need to be a grump in order to get a job in this place,” Bobbi retorted with a little smile on her lips. “I’ve personally taken a bow of not taking anything entirely too seriously. A day without laughter is a lost day, right? And it’s even better when you’re mocking someone like... Loki.”

He felt so stupid when Bobbi had caught him in such a state of distress, only nodding at her offer of tea. His head returned to his hands as she left, yet he didn’t begin crying again. Taking a few deep breaths, Howard tried his hardest to regain his composure.
After a few minutes, he walked into the kitchen, finding a seat at the table. He didn’t know what to say, glancing at her before beginning to play with his nails. It wasn’t often he had cried in front of people. It always made him feel stupid and weak, at least, that’s what Grant had always told him what his crying was like.
“I’m sorry.” Was all he could say.
Walking out of the room, she made her way to the kitchen, putting the kettle on and crossing her arms over her chest, waiting for Howard to come when he was ready. Bobbi wasn’t sure what was going on with him but she never recalled seeing Howard cried--he was an awful lot like her in that way. She had interrupted him and couldn’t help but feel she was intruding--and yet she didn’t want to leave.
Talking had helped her in the past--not that she was even remotely reluctant to do so at first--but maybe it could help him with whatever it was that affected him so.
Hearing come into the kitchen she looked up at him and poured water in two mugs to make the tea and then walked towards the table, setting one carefully in front of him. “Don’t,” she muttered, eyeing his hand.
Physical contact with another human being was not something she did-not outside the training rooms but if it could help him... She reached carefully for his hand, giving him enough time to pull away if he wanted. “I’m sorry--I was worried about you. I should’ve knocked harder.”

Howard’s shoulders shuddered visibly as he cried bitterly into his hands. Thinking he was alone, he sobbed loudly. He startled badly when he heard the door open, turning around quickly with an amount of fear in his eyes.
“Oh, it’s… It’s you.” He said, clearing his throat and sniffling. “Sorry. I’d like to be left alone for a little while.”
Bobbi had had this nagging feeling all day long and she couldn’t quite place it. It wasn’t a thing that happened often and being who she was she mostly ignored it but when Howard failed to pick up his phone the feeling turn into some level of worry.
Heading to his home, she knocked to no avail and then tried the handle, noticing it was opened and going in agent mode instantly--only to find him sobbing in one of the room.
“Howie? What happened?” to his request hoever she nodded. “I could--okay... I’ll... I’ll be in the kitchen making some tea, okay?”
“That’s, uh—” not something she hears quite often. “-really sweet of you to say.”
“It’s the truth-” Bobbi replies with something resembling a smile. “I just wanna make you’re gonna be okay.”
Bucky looked over at Clint for a moment, brow furrowed before his expression relaxed. He gave a slight nod before grabbing his jacket. “I’m surprised you didn’t ask Sam.”
“Well I thought about it but then he’s keeping Bobbi busy so...” he shrugged it off. “Besides I’ve been meaning to talk to ya for a while now. You got everything you need?”
“Wow, somebody came prepared.” Natasha commented as she averted her attention from the adamant blonde to the male by her side. “Did you get your horrible dosage of vaccines before arriving Wilson?”
“Can’t say that I did. Did you get your horrible dosage of vaccines before arriving Natasha?” Sam answered in response going along with the woman’s little game. After a moment or so, Sam ended his part and laughed,” We’re just messing with you. Good to have you here.”
“Then I guess we should get you all started. It’s a good thing I brought plenty,” she was only half teasing of course. Unfortunately it had taken her longer than expected to get off everyone’s radar and make it to Wakanda and she could tell there was plenty she had missed--the team wasn’t at its finest but at least these two were still keeping their high spirits.
“So, how is everyone? Cliff notes version please.”
wishlist. ‘we’re undercover for a mission pretending to be a newly-wed couple and they’re keeping a close eye on us 24/7. i’m even pretty sure they got cameras in our bedroom, so we need to pretend to cuddle up and have sex at night but i’m actually really liking this, you’re really warm and omg i’m actually getting turned on by your fake moaning, help.’

“I thought of getting you off your ass and poking you for a sparring session but I’ll leave that to the Cap. I need to pick some things from town and I could use the back up--if you got the time.”

“I have a clear shot, do you really want me to take it?”
“ Him? Funny you say that because I was just wondering if I was being tough enough.”
“You don’t get what is like Sam. He wasn’t in control. It’s not---You should cut him some slack.”
“Um…” He knew that look. That was the ‘he’s in very big trouble and she’s going to hit him’ look. He didn’t like that look but he knew at this moment he probably deserved it. “I mean… no? Is that the right answer here cause… the last time you gave me that look I ended up with a black eye and Nat laughed at me for like a month.”
“I’m sure you more than deserved that black eye,” Bobbi teased corking an eyebrow at him while taking a deep breath, hands resting in her lab coat pockets. After a moment of pondering the pros and cons, she yield. She couldn’t say no Clint--not after everything. “You know if we do this, we’re out of the reservation. There’s no Fury to come and rescue us anymore.”
