in general i get annoyed with any take that says yaz wouldn't stay with the doctor or wouldn't have feelings for the doctor if they're not thirteen, it's always such an uncharitable read of her character but also of the show as a whole, like we've seen multiple people stay with the doctor or meet the doctor again after regeneration and it's not like it's an uncomplicated process emotionally speaking but it's insulting to yaz to say she wouldn't or couldn't go through it.
the jokes about yaz falling in love with thirteen only for her to turn into david tennant were unfunny when fans were making them and they're unfunny when the official instagram is making them my god.
it feels like the implication is that yaz wouldn't stay with the doctor as a man but what evidence do we have that fourteen's gender is significantly different from thirteen's. i get that people don't like david tennant and there are plenty of reasonable complaints about his presence from a production standpoint but in universe it's an extremely uncharitable read of yaz and a weirdly bioessentialist read of the doctor.
would be fun if for once characters in a scifi story landed on a planet and it was like desert or whatever and theyre like ooh... a desert world.... and the people who live there are like what? no? this is just a desert. planets are very big. they have multiple biomes
