Writing be like
Types of female characters we need more of
older women allowed to have a story outside of the fairy godmother trope or being a mere caretaking accessory to another character
girlfail characters
women who stand on business and dump the pathetic loser bf
non-traditionally feminine women who bond with traditionally feminine women instead of putting them down (and the other way around)
women who take charge of their destiny
women whose happy end doesnt involve romance and whose romantic life is not centered much
strong but warm and empathetic women
queer women with a story beyond exploring their queerness
soft black women
female mentors who dont fall into the caretaker role but also aren’t unnecessarily cruel
grumpy, taciturn women
fun, flirty, seductive women whose personality is not treated as a promiscuous flaw to be fixed
weird and off putting women
tall, feminine women who are not othered or treated as less feminine for their height
short, serious women who are not infantilised and taken seriously
women in stem
female antagonists whose antagonistic behavior is not sexualised or motivated by being wronged first. just an evil, brutal person
women of color who are neither the ‘subservient damsel in distress who needs to be freed by the white man’ nor the ‘oriental, tempting beauty who seduces the white man with a dagger, a smirk, and a cocky one liner’

Scenes to Write When Your Draft Feels Flat
Not epic or climactic. Just... alive.
• A character almost admits they were wrong and then pivots • Two people sitting in a car after an argument, engine off, neither leaving • Someone practicing a speech in the mirror and hating how it sounds • A character lying for someone they resent • An inside joke that no longer feels funny • A public setting where private tension is simmering • Someone seeing their ex unexpectedly and performing indifference • A character giving advice they absolutely do not follow • A confession interrupted by something mundane • A person rereading old messages they shouldn’t • A gift that misses the mark completely • A character realizing they’ve outgrown someone mid-conversation • Someone saying “It’s fine” and meaning “I will remember this forever” • A moment where a character notices they are no longer the favorite • Two people who used to be close struggling to find a topic
If your story feels stuck, it likely needs friction. Not explosions. Just a little pressure.
Non-spicy ways to show Intimacy
Intimacy isn't always just the spicy stuff! Here's a few ways to show it through your characters in a few, simple ways...
Kissing their S/O's hand, knuckles, wrist...bonus points for eye contact!
Speaking of which...eyes. Glances across the room, prolonged eye contact, staring at each other
Tending to the other's wounds/ injuries
Knowing the other's tiny habits
Reaching out to the other when in pain, trouble, ect
Whispering jokes to each other
Carefully wiping off a stain from their clothes or face
Taking care of each other when sick or hurt
Hand over the heart/ ear over the heart just to hear it beat
Pressing their thumb over the pulse point for the same thing
Tracing scars, tattoos, birth marks, freckles
Giving the other something tiny that means a lot, a picture, a shiny rock, a flower
In fantasy settings, helping the other put on/ take off armor...trusting the other to know where daggers, knives, poisons are hidden
Telling each other secrets/ thoughts they've told nobody before
Tucking back the other's hair
Putting a piece of jewelry on the other or letting them borrow clothes
Keeping each other warm in the cold
In cases with chronic illness, letting the other care for/ know symptoms
Brushing, braiding hair, applying skincare, etc.
Nightmare comfort
Wiping away tears
Proximity- sitting near each other, sticking close, standing beside each other while doing a task such as cooking, laundry, painting...
Sharing a book, sitting close enough to read it together
body language: panic
backing away
begging / babbling incoherently
clenching eyes
cracking knuckles
crossing arms defensively
crying
defensive / aggressive behavior
fidgeting
fight / flight / freeze / fawn response
flinching
heart pounding
hyperventilating
“i can't do this.”
“oh my god!”
pulling hair
racing thoughts
screaming
self soothing motions (rubbing arms, wringing hands, …)
shaking voice
shivering / trembling
sweating
“what the fuck!”
wide eyes, observing everything

Fuck you, Reddit. How dare you call me out like that...bitch...
Error 404 has been prompted, yet again.
I am slowly slipping into a realm of uncertainty. This place, it is a scenery I have grown familiar with. Such a place is like a deserted island I have frequented for the last 20 or so years. At this point in my writing journey, I am contemplating letting Mellory-Ellory (ME. Ha, see what I did there?) to metaphorically kick my own ass. This slump of not knowing where to go with my story, or how to allow the voices in my head to continue being the driver, is downright annoying.
How would I go about pulling off such a beating, you may ask? I would slam my face into the keyboard, allowing the keys to become close acquaintances with my teeth and beak. Maybe that would break something loose within my noggin, aiding in this fucking block from having a hold on me. Maybe, just maybe, I could finally be successful in my attempts to develop a worthy storyline. Maybe if I beat my head in hard enough, I will be victorious in my battle against the English language flourishing from my fingertips...
To summarize, writer's block is a bitch.
I love when I get hit with a series of ideas in my cranial meatloaf. I was able to keep those same ideas long enough to get home. I popped my ass down in front of my computer.
The end result? I wrote 1,857 words.
This officially has gotten the first chapter off the ground. Did I start on the second chapter? I sure as fuck did. Did I stick to any sort of storyline? Nope, I did not. I am going to let the story and characters take things where it ends up.
Stephen King once said... "Remember that the basic rule of vocabulary is use the first word that comes to your mind, if it is appropriate and colorful. Firstly tackling what may be the easiest thing to go wrong on, King addresses that vocabulary is not everything to writing."
Smutty One-Liners Part VIII
"Your moans are my favourite sound."
"Come a little closer."
"I can see you enjoying this."
"Just a little bit more."
"Nothing I can't fix with my hands."
"I simply can't wait any longer."
"Tell me how much you like it."
"What a lovely smell."
"You're like fire, burning me with every touch."
"Let me catch up, you shouldn't be the only one naked, right"
"Good enough, or do you want more?"
"I can't wait to try this with you."
"We don't need to rush, we have all the time in the world."
"Hmm, are really not wearing anything underneath?"
"I would really like you to show me."
"What is your dirty little mind thinking?"
"Oh, I really like the way that sounds."
"You're reactions are what gets me going."
"Do you want me to show you how it's done?"
"Let's hear you scream for me."

Do not give me the map...
Much like I am with a map while exploring the terrain in my video games, I have no idea where I am going or how I even got here with my story writing! Regardless, I am making progress. Slow and steady, but still moving!!
Anyways, just wanted to post about my mini accomplishment. I was able to write several hundred words. It would be more, but I changed and removed parts...but I GOT HUNDREDS OF WORDS WRITTEN OUT ATLAST!!
Black Cat x Golden Retriever Dynamic
When friends meet them for the first time, everyone assumes the golden retriever fell first. They're wrong.
The golden retriever is openly affectionate and fearless. Until someone hurts the black cat. Then the sunshine turns uncharacteristically serious.
The black cat insists they don’t like people. The golden retriever gently reminds them, “You like me.” The black cat pretends this is an exception, not a rule.
The golden retriever gives compliments freely and often. The black cat gives exactly one sincere compliment, and it means everything.
The black cat says something devastatingly romantic by accident and spends the next hour pretending it wasn’t that deep.
The golden retriever shows love by doing everything together. The black cat shows love by choosing to sit near them when they could sit anywhere else.
The black cat ususally acts annoyed when the golden retriever holds their hand. But they aren't fooling anyone, especially not their partner.
The golden retriever has quite a lot of friends, while the black cat is more of a loner and has a low social battery. As a couple the black cat is willing to hang out with their partner's friends from time to time and the golden retriever makes sure to always check in with their partner to see if it's time to go home together.
People think that the black cat is not a very talkative person. The golden retriever loves to know that when it's just the two of them the black cat's talking can't be stopped.
Usually the golden retriever is the caretaker of the couple. But when they get sick the black cat steps up and is a surprisingly good nurse.
