thats all awesome! ok, ok, so. i know you're into worldbuilding, so does the location this takes place in have any major significance? do all the egos live near to each other, or are they spread out?
They actually start off pretty spread out. JJ starts out as a mage assigned to a low level Baron for help in his lands. (he's got an apprentice with him too. A human cause out of all the egos only one is human) Anti is of course the Baron, so those two start out close, but chase is a traveling bard so he can be just about anywhere.
As for Henrik, I’m playing with the idea of him being a doctor in a large city but there’s a lot of discrimination against non human characters because humans are the weakest race in magical power and the least likely to develop it, so the other races get the brunt of their jealousy. He'll eventually be chased out.
As for Marvin, he likes to stay with his library now days but he's been friends with JJ for years now and the two are fairly close. A couple times a year the two will meat up somewhere to hang out or do something fun. Usually by water or at the library. Though in the past he traveled the world a bunch.
Oh! I almost forgot about Jack. He's not in the story itself so much as a main reason for a lot of Anti's actions. You see, his family was granted the title of Baron a generation ago (along with the appropriate land) for saving the last king's life. Anti wants more and blames Jack for his struggle in rising up the ranks of nobility.
For reference, a baron is one of the lowest ranks you can get.
But yeah, relatively diverse, but they all eventually get dragged into the vicinity of Anti. For more reasons that just plot convenience of course.
Which isn't saying much. The plot is still pretty fuzzy right now.
I forgot! I forgot jackie!!
Jackie also travels around a bunch. He’s a Raish. BAsically an orc but based off bears and much cooler in my opinion. And he works in a traveling circus or a troop of torubadors as they’d be known then. So he moves around a bunch but I doubt he’ll start near Anti. (as I said, they all get drawn their for unknown reasons. Except Marvin. He remains unnefected.)

Ahh! Thank you! Marvin and henrik are both interesting characters.
Marvin is a phoenix, so super old and suuuper magical. All races have a certain afinity to magic, some more so than others, but Marvin, much like the fae, is quite literally made out of magic. He owns a giant library/museum type things with a bunch of knowledge on magic and lost arts that he's collected over the years. He was actually the first real mage that JJ ever met, and the one who convinced him to pursue magic even with his muteness. (most spells are cast verbally thought there are other, older methods)
As for Henrik, he's a Syrrik. Technically an elf, except not exactly. They're a sentient prey species based off squirrels that have an affinity to body altering magic. As in healing, changing the weight, the height, some can even alter their face if they're talented enough (as such they're the source of changeling myths. Though as the fae are real and changelings are intrinsically fae, maybe their's more credence to it than most give them credit.
He's also a doctor. Owns his own little apothocary that deals in both magical and medical medicine. And as a Syrrik he has an aptitude for healing magic.

Haha! I basically went with the whole wood elf idea and then asked myself, why do they live in trees? ho is it better than on the ground? And from there i created several large ground predators in their native lands (which consists of and large forested areas) and gave them a physical form more befitting a tree dwelling species.

I just saw the edit you made (it was awesome by the way), and I just realized something. If you ever did your own eldritch thing (with you as one of the people being tormented by eldritch) the very name of your blog lends itself to that. Like I know its a referenc to a song but in the right setting changing it to "fallen" or something could send chills up the spine. Just a realization I had.
