“Sure,“ Silvia said automatically, actually taken aback at the girl’s surprise. Some of the others were defensive, but they mostly seemed at least friendly enough to give a tip or two. It was just creating fire, anyway. It would take far more intelligence to know when it was safe to make one. “Um, okay, so you’re sort of…holding the sticks wrong, first of all. You can’t be afraid of the spark. That’s the most important thing, I think. It’s scary, but you can’t shy away from what you’re trying to do.”
Frowning, Nova glanced aside, trying to imitate the way the blonde held the sticks between her two palms. “Like this?” She asked, placing her hands a little higher up on the stick, making sure it was perpendicular to the ground, trying to apply just the right amount of pressure before rubbing it against the other stick. “How long should it normally take?” Her question was soon answered as a small spark erupted from the sticks, before fizzling out just as quickly as it had appeared. “A bit longer maybe?”
