Yi Lei, tr. by Tracy K. Smith, from My Name Will Grow Wild Like a Tree: Selected Poems; “I don’t want to be restored to reason”

Robert Sweeney - Internal Light & Evening Reflections, portraits of Emily Dickinson (2019)

Laurits Tuxen - Morning mood. From my house in Skagen (1916)
the purpose of friends is to have people who unconditionally hate your shitty exes & relatives. like maybe YOU have a complex relationship with your father but i sure don't. i'm outside his house with a gun. he's not the unforgivable asshole who raised me he's just an unforgivable asshole
Home Comforts (1889). James Clark (English, 1858-1943).
Clark would mainly be remembered, suggested his obituary, “for the essentially English water-colours which he painted with much skill and a delightful sense of colour and movement.”
