This ritual depicts the a medieval game, in which courtiers would ally themselves to the flower (a lady) and the leaf (a male courtier). There are daisies in the ladies hair and head dresses, and pretty blue flowers (forget-me-nots?) in the undergrowth.

I went to Herne Hill yesterday, which was a fantastic day out. There was a great sunday market, and a secret rambling community garden in Brockwell Park (you wouldn't know it was there) on the hill which boasted some of the most fantastic produce and well cared for plants. They had tonnes of broad bean pods, young plants in the greenhouse and a lovely historic kitchen garden as well as an orchard and a manicured garden. I can't wait to go back

I'm sorry that I've been a bit quiet for the last few weeks- I have been away on holiday in Cornwall. Whilst we were there, we visited Barbara Hepworth's garden, which was lovely as always. Cornwall has always been my annual holiday destination of choice, and so I have been to Hepworth's garden many times over the years. This year I felt very inspired by her garden room, which contained many of her organic forms and some great cacti. I think that if I could nab anything from a gallery or exhibition I would take one of her bronze sculptures, no-one does situational art like Hepworth
