The Duel in the Desert pitched teams of a reiner and a show jumper against one another. Swiss show jumper Steve Guerdat and his partner Brandon Butters earned the greatest number of points from the expert judges and audience enthusiasm. (x) (x)

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS CREAM. TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK.
MEMORIZE THE PACKAGING SO YOU MAKE SURE YOU NEVER BUY THIS CREAM FOR YOURSELF OR ANYONE YOU LOVE.
This post is about vaginas. My vagina in particular. I get yeast infections pretty regularly, and until recently I was able to afford to see a doctor who could prescribe me fluconazole.
Fluconazole, a drug also known by the brand name Diflucan, is a small pink pill. You take two pills a few days apart from each other to restore balance and harmony to your bountiful folds. I’ve never ever had a bad side effect from taking this pill.
Cut to November 2016. I’m a recent college grad without reliable health care coverage in the process of finding a job. And I’m dealing with a yeast infection. Before I moved out of state, my previous doctor told me about Miconazole. She said it was as effective as the pill and hallelujah, it’s over the counter! I decided to purchase the cream pictured above. This treatment only lasted 3 days, a convenient time frame for my schedule.
The application process was a little messy, and some of the cream came in contact with my vulva and labia. Within 5 minutes every piece of skin that had come in contact with the cream, excluding my hands, was on fire. I wanted to scream it was so painful. I began frantically searching for what I should do online.
I found a whole forum of people on drugs.com who had experienced something similar. These comments saved me, and these were just on the first page. There were 33 pages total, the earliest dated July 2009.
I was writhing in pain at 2AM when I found this forum (which I found by searching “my vagina burn itch hurts after miconazole” on Google). As soon as I read these comments I threw the devil cream directly into the trash and jumped in the shower. I didn’t feel any actual relief until I reached in and scraped the cream out of me. I paid $17 plus tax on this bullshit, but I could have just as easily ripped up my money or paid someone to not hurt me.
The moral of the story is that vaginal health care is is completely fucked up because we don’t have access to an over the counter cure for yeast infections that is safe for our bodies and also YOU SHOULD NEVER BUY THIS CREAM EVER.
Reblog to save a vagina.
Okay so I used to get yeast infections every month after my period ‘cause my pH levels were fucked up or something (idk that’s what my doctor said) and I actually used to take this stuff and it was fine. Then a couple years down the road I had a yeast infection for the first time in ages and I used this again and it burned so bad I had to sit in the bath and like physically dig it out of my vagina
AND THEN I LEARNED THAT IT’S BECAUSE I DIDN’T HAVE A YEAST INFECTION. I had a bacterial infection, which is honestly pretty much identical to a yeast infection depending on the severity. The only difference is that IF YOU HAVE A BACTERIAL INFECTION AND TRY TO USE YEAST INFECTION MEDICATION IT WILL HURT
But it’s not actually the medication’s fault. The medication DOES do what it’s supposed to do, provided you’re actually suffering from a yeast infection. Chances are though that you and every one who commented on this did, in fact, have bacterial infections instead.
FORTUNATELY they also make over the counter tests so you can know if you need to call your doctor or just grab some yeast medicine off the shelf. Next time if you aren’t sure, pee on a stick and save yourself a world of fucking pain
AMEN.
It’s unfortunate that I’m 27 and never knew that last bit of information. The world of vaginal health is so obscure and inaccessible.
Reblogging because I too once found out the hard way that I had a bacterial & not yeast infection. 😑
I, too, once set my vagina aflame with miconazole. I didn’t know it was because of a bacterial infection. Reblogging to save a vag.
Couples receive “parent points”, which they can use to purchase their children. Most parents wait for a few thousand, but you chose to buy the cheaper, 100 point child.
Shane knows what it’s like to be a 100 point child. He knows how it feels to see potential parents–potential families–come through the facilities doors, faces bright with excitement. He knows how it feels to see them reading the little plaques on the nursery doors, scanning the lists there for the right bits of knowledge and etiquette and grace that they want their baby to have.
He knows how it feels to see their faces pinch outside the window before they hurry to the next room.
Shane grew up in a 100 point nursery. They had torn, ratty, books and no teachers, and when snack time came, the tray was pushed through a slat in the door. They were called “unruly” and “damaged” and “stupid.” A lot of the other kids threw tantrums and broke furniture (and sometimes other kids). A lot of the other kids went quiet after the first few years when they realized they’d never be adopted until they were old enough (or pretty enough) to be useful. A lot of the kids cried and didn’t stop until they got taken away or were aged out.
Shane’s grown up a lot since aging out. He put himself through school, got himself a job, shed his 100 points like the torn clothes he’d left the facility in. He’s powerful now, successful, and he’s grown out of the twisted nose, big ears, and gap-toothed smile that had made him one of the less attractive 100 point babies. Or maybe he’s grown into them. Who’s to say?
It’s taken him a long time to get enough Parent Points to do what he wants. Being a man is, for once, somewhat hindering as most of society equates “parental” with “maternal.” He’s lost count of how many social workers have politely hid expressions of surprise when he told them he wanted to adopt stag, that he’s willing to take the classes, get the grades, make the oaths to get even one Parent Point.

25 Days Of Buckymas - #4 - Snowball Fight
25 Days Of Buckymas - It’s a rule that whoever arrives last to the snowball fight gets bombarded and you tried to tell Bucky this. You tried.
This one is a christmas present for now-you-don-t a person who has had a massive influence on my writing and is honestly just an amazing person
It had somehow become a rule within your group of friends, that being the Avengers, that the last one to come to a snowball fight was the one to be pelted the harshest. On a particularly snowy day, you and Bucky had both gone out to get coffee in order to warm yourselves up. Of course that’s what you told everyone else at the Avenger’s tower, in reality you just wanted to spend some alone time without anyone interrupting you.
You’re not sure why, but superheroes seem to have a really bad habit of getting in your personal space. It was mostly Steve coming to seek Bucky, but he always did it at the most inopportune times, like when you and Bucky are making out for example.
Despite the frosty weather you were having a pretty damn good day. The snow was as beautiful as ever, settling down on the ground like a thick blanket but of course you weren’t stupid enough to go lay in it seen as you knew it would bring you more cold than warmth. That didn’t stop you from pausing your trip to the coffee shop to make a snow angel with Bucky, who was a little resigned to do it at first but your puppy dog eyes always defeated his resolve. He was on the ground for like two seconds and then he was back up, demanding to go get the coffee and even going as far to whine that he was colder and it was your job to save him by providing warm, delicious, caffeine.
As expected the coffee shop was pretty busy that day but the two of you didn’t mind standing in line together. It gave you an opportunity to hold hands a little longer, the skinship providing enough warmth to get you through the wait.
Eventually you got your hot chocolate, he got his coffee, and you were even able to find a seat. You and Bucky remained there for an hour or so, just talking about your plans for Christmas. It was going to be the first Christmas you two spent together, as well as with the rest of the Avengers. Because despite any sort of arguments that may occur in your super group, at the end of the day you’d all become one big family. You were all each other had.
Of course you and Bucky couldn’t go one minute without doing something cheesy, a habit that Tony was always quick to point out and then fake gag after explaining how gross it was. You’d gotten some of the cream off of your hot chocolate on the top of your nose and as soon as Bucky noticed it he was leaning across the table to peck your nose to wipe it off, then moving down to peck you on the lips. A giggle escaped your lips as you couldn’t help but feel overwhelming love to the secret cheeseball across from you, but then all of a sudden your phone which was situated on the table made a dinging sound. The both of you looked down at it and Bucky widened his eyes a little, “is that Tony?” He asked, knowing how much the man liked to point out Bucky’s cheesy habits.
You picked up the phone and unlocked it to see who had messaged you, “no it’s Natasha.” He visibly relaxed at that reveal and then took another sip of his drink whilst you read through the message.
From: Natasha
Hey, just to let you know Sam started a snowball fight and now we’ve all gotten involved. I think Tony’s determined to get the two of you and you know the rule, whoever’s last in gets bombarded. This is your only warning.
This time it was you whose eyes widened. You knew very well about this particular rule because you’d been the victim last time there was a snow storm two weeks ago, you still had bruises on your body. Albeit the night after the snowball fight had been pretty great as Bucky soothed your woes and then made sure to kiss every part of your body that hurt, as well as every part of your body that didn’t.
“What does the message say?” He asked casually, an unknowing victim to the carnage that would hit him soon.
You could have sacrificed yourself and saved Bucky, but you knew he wouldn’t be mad at you after you soothed his injuries once the battle was over. Plus you were his girlfriend, he’d said before that he would die for you and this was just his chance to prove it by understanding why you’d withhold the information Natasha had shared. In response to his question you told him that it was nothing and that you wanted to go home and warm up there as it was getting too busy.
Bucky looked around, noticing that there were actually more tables available then when you’d first sat down, but he decided not to question you. He’d taken note of your nervous behaviour and he didn’t want to force you to talk about it in public seen as you seemed to want to leave public.
Together you stood up, put back on your gloves, scarves and coats, and left the coffee shop hand in hand. Though when you got closer to the Avengers tower you did release his hand and begin to walk a little quicker than him, keeping the conversation topic on something light and amusing in hopes that he wouldn’t suspect anything mysterious behind your actions.
When you reached the front of the tower you suddenly set off in a sprint, “Bucky’s the last one!” You yelled out and seconds later you felt snowballs flying past your head as you retreated behind a fort Natasha and Clint had built together.
“Betrayer!” You heard Bucky yell but you were staying behind the fort, not wanting to see what mayhem you had brought your boyfriend’s way.
Eventually the snowball attack actually became a snowball fight, Bucky had created a fort of his own and was attacking everyone that had dared to attack him first. Tony and Pepper soon became the victim after the group learnt that he was using a glove he’d made specifically for a snowball fight.
After throwing a snowball towards Wanda you felt a pair of hands wrap around your waist and pull you behind one of the snow forts, it didn’t take much for you to figure out who it was. He pushed you down onto your back and then he got on top of you, and when you opened your eyes you saw the most fearsome image. Bucky’s stall stature dominated you, his metal hand raised up to the grey sky and in it was a huge snowball, on his face was a very serious expression that showed you no mercy whatsoever. “Do you concede?” He asked in a frightful voice, the octave a low rumble much like thunder.
“Never!” You yelled out, already putting up one arm to cover your face but he was quick to grab it with his free hand and pin it to your side.
Bucky suddenly leaned closer to you, his hot breath beginning a welcomed warmth to your cold and already red cheeks. “Are you sure about that?” He whispered into your ear, the tone making a warmth spread over your entire body.
“God!” A familiar voice suddenly cried, “will you guys get a room already!?” As expected from Tony, he followed this statement with a gagging noise and then he began to throw snowballs towards the two of you. Thankfully Bucky’s large stature mostly protected you and once Tony had thrown the six snowballs he’d created for ammunition, your boyfriend took this chance to jump back onto his feet and throw the giant one he’d been holding, knocking the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist onto his arse.
The fight went on for quite a while, the group of superheroes having a lot more stamina and strength than the normal human being. The fight only ended when you’d all conceded, Tony was the only one who wanted to continue fighting and that’s because his pride had suffered the most so he was hoping to regain it but the past snowball fight proved he really had no chance. Especially with Steve and Bucky who ended up being experts at snowball fights, especially when they worked together. You were quite lucky because by being Bucky’s girlfriend they let you off quite a few times, even after you threw snowballs at them.
Bucky joined you outside the door, a huge smile on his face that was quite infectious as you found yourself smiling just as happily despite the constant shivering your body was doing. He looked like a big child and that image would always bring you happiness because there’s something very special about seeing Bucky experiencing true merriment.
“Are you cold?” He asked, noticing your shivers and beginning to rub his hands up and down your arms which did very little but you appreciated the sentiment.
You nodded your head, “yeah but I’ll warm up when we get inside, I heard Clint saying he was going to make some eggnog.”
Despite what you said Bucky was already beginning to shed his coat, draping it over your shoulders and then placing his arm around you. Tony had obviously witnessed this as a gagging sound could be heard from nearby but before the genius could make another rude comment about how lovey dovey you and Bucky were as a couple, Bucky had made a snowball and thrown it in his direction. The only sound that came from Tony after that was a groan of pain which you and Bucky chose to ignore as you walked back into the Avenger’s tower, ready to enjoy some more Christmas time together and with your adopted family.

Could I get an opinion on Cat Haven in Dunlap CA?
Honestly, I am extremelyput off by their website. Not only is it very lacking in information on areas I want most to explore–do they breed? Are all the animals even rescues?–but their information on some awareness issues are scant and even sound like they lean towards support.
They have pages on hybrids and white tigers, and while they go into the inbreeding of white tigers a little, they take a tone in the article that the incredibly unethical breeding of these animals may be justified by the inspiration they provide to the public. In the hybrids page, they do not discuss the health issues of ligers at all, just that they have reduced fertility, and they make a point that the breeding of pet hybrids like bengals brings money to the breeders. As if this justifies it.
The first thing that comes to mind when I look up this place is the mauling of Dianna Hanson over a year ago. She is pictured here:
Unprotected contact with a tiger, and it was a lion that killed her when she was in the cage with him by herself. Apparently protocol is to have 2-3 people in the cage at once, but this honestly makes no difference when one of these cats decides to attack.
So I do not gather anything but red flags from this place. They seem to try and hide these issues with conservation efforts, which are all well and good but the glaring issues in their own facility aren’t offset by that.
I actually wanted to ask you about these guys! I’m happy you saw this too. I was incredibly off put by the physical contact they had with the tigers. I saw keepers sticking their hands in to pet their big male lion and watched the owner put his face right up to one of the tiger’s faces and stick his fingers into the cage.
Here’s what I know from the tour, if it helps at all:
They do breed. They don’t breed often, but they breed. The only thing I’ll give them on that aspect is that they don’t breed their albino animals.
Only a few of their cats are not kept in multiples (2-3 animals in an enclosure). In those cases, its because they either A) Don’t have another of that species or B) The other animal gets in fights, like with their tigers.
I don’t know big cats anything like you, but I also thought I saw some of the neurotic behaviors you’ve talked about, like pacing, and the two male leopards would lunge at the fencing at visitors.
To me, the enclosures were really, really small. I don’t have any pictures of the full enclosures for any but the male tiger. The picture ends maybe a few inches before the end of this enclosure. I’d say its probably 15 feet long by 6 feet wide. He’s apparently in it all day, and the white tiger is outside, then they switch at night and he’s outside all night and she’s inside.
The only thing I’d give to them is they seem to support a ton of conservation projects. I’m happy you saw red flags too because it really made me leery.

what callouts should be about: informing folks that someone on tumblr is preying on underage kids, scamming people, is making threats of violence
what callouts on tumblr actually are: getting hundreds of people to gang up on and send threats to some 16 year old kid on the internet over some anime headcanon or shipping crap
I’m tricking my students into writing a research paper by having them write an open letter and then strengthen their argument by adding evidence. They were allowed to write about anything they wanted for the first draft of their open letter, and one of my 10th grade boys decided he wanted to write about girls who only like bands because the members are cute and don’t really care about the music.
I let him do it because I’ve found that shutting down a student’s idea at the first draft stage tends to make them more obstinate about the topic. I figured we’d get to the evidence-gathering stage, he wouldn’t be able to find scholarly sources and he would change his topic.
Well lo and behold, today he comes into class and tells me he’s changing his topic. Apparently, he couldn’t find any evidence and he figured he was being kind of hypocritical because he gets really excited about athletes he doesn’t even know and the only reason that’s different than fangirls is because it’s him. He actually told me that he realized that writing that first letter would be pretty condescending. He’s going to write about LGBT rights instead.
This next generation, y’all. There’s some good stuff happening.
