Jenova Cosplay Progress Post 🪼

It's been a while since I've posted anything... So I'll just do it.

My absolute dream cosplay would be Jenova from Final Fantasy VII... I've been stuck on it for about a year now...

And it's a lot of try and terror 😅🥲

My current status:

The helmet:

The helmet is mainly made of foam. With some newspaper and glue it is a little harder.

After I had finished the basic structure, I made the brain: I used a brain-shaped baking mold and filled it with fabric and latex.

Then I attached it to the helmet, including a few hairs and tubes.

The bodysuit:

That was the worst thing so far: I was never satisfied with one...

At first I had flirted with a leggings and bodysuit combination, but discarded it.

In the meantime I've bought 4 whole body suits and I'm only 90% satisfied with one of them...

I have recolored this one... Since it was already printed, I painted the cracks with black and blue paint.

The zipper was also replaced.

I would also like to add some tubes for the body on the back.

Apart from that, I'm only missing the pipe and the wings.

I've been thinking about some tentacles too, but I'm keeping that as an option.

Bustersword - Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth

Since I still have these pictures and the post for them didn't work on instagram (hate youu), I'm posting my progress post here~

I actually started the sword at a time when I almost stopped cosplaying... I just wanted to build something cool, from a fandom I love... It was only after/during that I decided to cosplay Cloud

Since I built two swords, the progress pictures are a bit mixed. I took a lot of pictures at the beginning for my closest friends, but the second sword is more stable 👌🏻 the steps were very similar.

Materials:

- Floor panels for sound insulation

- Newspaper

- Wood glue, hot glue

- foam rubber/foam

- Empty acrylic hemispheres

- artificial leather

- Core 1: Wooden strip / Core 2: PVC pipe

I started by gluing the plates together and cutting out the holes for the balls.

I carefully fitted the balls to the core - the Materia was ready at first 😅

After the plates had been shaped a little (very delicate material, similar to polystyrene), I covered the basic structure with wood glue 1-2 times.

The cutting edge was made using newspaper and wood glue.

The handle was cut out of foam and glued.

I didn't want to make the plates on the handle at first and had engraved them 😅 Later I scale it and adapt them to the existing dimensions.

I wrapped the handle with a strip of imitation leather. A few scratches and "pistol shots" later, it was as good as finished! 👏🏻

The LEDs consist of bottle bottom lights that can be attached and removed with Velcro in the second daggerboard. Since I don't walk around without Materia, you can't see the LEDs or the rod.

I had built a hook into the first daggerboard for carrying it - but this also damaged the plates. Now I carry the sword on my back with a luggage strap.

I am very happy and proud to have built it - and twice 😅 and it was also important to me to be able to take it to cons without discussions 👌🏻

At the beginning I was seriously unsure whether I could wear her: I don't like bunny cosplays and I don't usually do animal cosplays either.

The skin-tight body also made me very insecure, because tbh: I'm not slim.

But I don't regret for a second that I did it at a time when I was in dire need of self-confidence and had to make decisions

For being portrayed as so sexy, she is simply a bad-ass character!

I love her perseverance, her strength and her will! One day I want to go to an old factory or something to recreate the scenes of her in a photo shooting.

Now I'll start to post my cosplays here - and who could be better than Dabi? 🩵

Quick facts: I worked on him over a year and at the beginning I thought it would be a quick and easy cosplay 🤣

I loved his character as a villian, the fight with Hawks is still one of my favorites in boku no hero 🫶🏻 But I don't like him in the last season...

I wanna wear him next year at a convention again, this year I wore him just once and I'm a little bit sad about that 🥲😅
