I think it says a lot about Ryley that even in the face of years of probably being programmed to believe he's expendable, only as good as his last job, and more or less a faceless number, he still helped the Sea Emperor, he's still shown to be kind to the Cuddlefish, even the fandom generally agrees he's likely a nice person.
