âGod I hate storms.âÂ
âare you afraid? we could take a couple shots? get it off your mind?ââ
âI am not really sure how I almost slept through this storm..but I am happy it is not over yet. I know we are advised to stay away from the windows and such, but I really want a photo of the lightning if there still is some.â
âi think you should be able to get a picture. for sure. do you do photography for fun?â
âIâd be a lot more bummed about the no electricity thing if we hadnât of sold our T.V. Or our computer. Or our stereo. Or our lamps. This is really no different than yesterday or the day before, to be honest. Wanna play a board game? No one bought Heads Up, I lucked out on the only valuable thing.â
âa board game? um-- absolutely. i mean-- there could e worse things that could have happened, right?â
âNormally I find the rain calming, but this rain is really angry.â
âoh god! i know! normally i can fall asleep real quick when itâs raining but this rain is too much. and the thunder every other second? too much.â
âIâm screwed. Iâm so screwed. The power is out and now I canât get my assignments from FSU.â
âi think youâve got better things to worry about than school work, l.â
Ghosts of the past || Carter and Vivian
Carter nodded his head as he listened to Vivian. âYeah, I only recently ran into Logan. I mean I didnât have much to do with him, but he was friends with my younger brother.â Carter said with a smile as he took another mouthful of beer. âThings happen for a reason. Whether itâs for good or not all depends on what happens afterwards.â
taking a swig from her wine bottle, vi smiled ever so slightly as she looked at carter. it was somewhat calming to think about the fact that maybe they were in the same room-- sharing their memories for a certain reason. like maybe something was meant to be. âso you really think thatâs true? like-- fate sort of stuff?â
joel let out a chuckle to his friends words. âis it bad that i think thatâs pretty funny? did you just continue to ignore the kids all day or did you begin to stop them?âÂ
âoh my god-- i just rolled with it. i didnât want them to think it was out of the ordinary! itâs like if they think theyâre being sassy theyâll be more likely to do it.â
âExactly. Although, I honestly think the sheriff back home was looking for a reason to lock me up after what happened at the library that night. He never got the chance though, I moved not long after that. Poor guy.â
âwell what people donât know wonât hurt them. you got out at a good time-- thatâs all iâll say.â
âwhere did you move from?â
âsalem? itâs really pretty but i just needed a chance in scenery.â
âthe kids are my favorite part of the job,â lucy admitted. âlike, kids are simple, mostly. they just want their damn food, and even if they are assholes, you know itâs not their faultâ like, no kid is an asshole unless they have bad parents, yâknow? and itâs the parents who are overly stressed and entitled, usually. like, honestly? fuck adults.â
âoh! i totally know. iâm a real strong believer in the fact that crazy kids are a result of neglectful parents. iâm not sure how true it is but-- whatever.âÂ
Gotta love them. I canât even begin to imagine what goes on in their brains.
âi donât even think iâd wanna know, to be honest. itâs gotta be interesting. iâd love to be one of them for a day.â
Ghosts of the past || Carter and Vivian
Carter took a mouthful of beer with a nod. âCheers.â Carter when he swallowed the beer. He nodded his head slightly. âI left Salem pretty fast after high school, think I spent a year and a bit at home before I left for police collage.â Carter said as he played with his bottle. âItâs weird when you into people from the past.â
âyeah-- i left after graduation too. i mean-- i didnât settle here âtil i was about twenty. but now seeing people from salem again-- you-- logan-- i dunno. itâs weird. itâs like maybe it was fate.â and she did believe that maybe it was something like that. âi think itâs interesting.â

âI donât mind drinking out of a bottle.â  Carter said as he opened his beer and took a mouthful before he sat back down on the couch. he leaned his head back slightly. âYou can sit down.â Carter said as he looked at Vivian before he shrugged. âJust a lot of dumb people, that leads to a lot of paper work.â
taking a seat, vivian nodded, opening up her own bottle and waving it in the air. âwell cheers to stupid people, then.â she murmured, taking a sip from the bottle, barely believing that he was influencing her to do this. although he was able to talk her into some pretty cray things. âlong time no talk, huh? itâs weird now that iâve stopped traveling itâs like-- i donât know. itâs weird.âÂ
Ghosts of the past || Carter and Vivian
Carter closed the door once Vivian was inside. âIts just been along day is all.â Carter said as he walked back towards the couch, he grabbed his beer and opened it. âI donât mind, we are old friends.â Carter said with a shrug and smiled. âSo I guess we need glasses for the wine right?â Carter asked.
âyeah-- me too. what happened with you?â vi asked, generally curious as she listened to him speak. âfriends.â and she laughed a little bit at that because she definitely wasnât sure if she would even consider them friends. but they knew each other well enough. and that was all that mattered. âi mean-- unless we want to drink it out of the bottle, right?â
Ghosts of the past || Carter and Vivian
Carter was about to open his beer when the knock came to his door. He groaned slightly as he placed the beer on the coffee table, he stood up and crossed the room and opened the door. Carter raised an eyebrow at the site of Vivian before he stepped to the side. âGuess so.â Carter said as he gestured for her to come in.
seeing carter open the door, a rush of relief ran through vi. and she got even more relaxed when he stepped aside, allowing her in. âdonât seem so happy to see me.â she said, giggling a little bit as she stepped inside, taking in his apartment. âyou sure youâre okay with me coming in? i just wanted to talk with somebody.âÂ
