Yes, they had somewhat accepted the… touchiness of Mila’s solo; and yes, they knew things were all professional. But of course, that didn’t stop them from turning all shades of green with envy whenever they had to watch Mila and her partner — not only act like a hormonal teenage couple that couldn’t keep their hands off of each other on stage, but also get along like a house on fire offstage too.
“This is hell,” Riki said, watching as Mila and her partner laugh while playfully going through their routine — as if they even needed to, when they were already perfect as it was. He took an aggressive bite out of the snack in his hand. “I’m in hell.”
“Watch your language,” Jay scolded. But his heart simply wasn’t in it. And neither were his eyes on Riki, because they had zeroed in on Mila’s partner’s hand on her waist.
Sunoo narrowed his eyes with a pout, crossing his arms over his chest. For someone who claimed that he knew his place as Mila’s favourite, he didn’t like this any more than the others. He brushed it off as not liking Mila acting like she was best friends with someone who wasn’t him — but anyone with eyes and a brain knew that it ran deeper than that.
“Can’t we just…” Sunoo turned to Jay. “Can’t we just, you know, butt in? It’s been half an hour already and they’re still going.”
“No,” Heeseung — ever the voice of maturity and reason — interjected. “Just let them practice. They’ll be done soon anyway, and we can all go home. Stay strong.”
Sunoo pouted, but nodded nonetheless. Jake sighed as he leaned back against the wall behind him, his grouchy reflection clear in the mirror across from them — as well as Mila and her partner’s bright smiles, when Mila’s partner put her in a dip, like they were ballroom dancers.
“I don’t know why it bothers me,” Jake said. “I even said before that I don’t care.”
“Well, it’s one thing to say it and another thing to do it,” Jungwon answered, as he bit the inside of his cheek. Mila gently pushed her partner away by the chest, causing the latter to chuckle. And all Jungwon wanted to do was walk up and snatch Mila away so that they could practise the ‘Bite Me’ partner choreography together. Was it too late to petition for them to change partners? Jungwon sighed. “I want to go home.”
Sunghoon, who had adopted a similar pose to Jake, hadn’t said anything. Instead, his eyes remained fixated on Mila and her partner without a hint of a smile on his face while he did so. It was clear he was thinking a lot from his expression, most of which one could guess had to do with the proximity between the two partners when they finally decided to do a proper run through of their choreography.
The female dancers, who were huddled in the corner with Kiara and her partner, snickered among themselves as they observed the boys’ reaction.
“Your members are pretty protective, aren’t they?” Jungwon’s partner asked. “They act like jealous boyfriends whenever Mila is involved.”
“Right?” Sunghoon’s partner said. “Whenever we’re supposed to be practising our part, Sunghoon-ssi never maintains eye contact because he’s always too busy staring at Mila-ssi and her partner.”
The choreographer had scolded Sunghoon because he had almost dropped his partner during the dip move at the chorus, because he had been distracted by Mila’s partner, who had a firm grip on Mila’s waist when he pulled her to his chest and had followed her every movement with his eyes.
“And remember that one time Niki-ssi suddenly yelled out that they were ‘too close’?”
The dancers all laughed as they remembered that particularly cute moment. After the choreographer had critiqued one of Mila’s solo parts, she continued to practise it after official rehearsal was over and asked the dancers for help. This was a part where Mila was surrounded by everyone, and she had to bring the male dancer’s faces closer to her like she was manipulating them to look at her. But one of the male dancers had accidentally gotten so close that their nose brushed against her cheek, and the whole dance room was shocked by the sudden yell of the younger member.
‘No!’ Riki had yelled, causing everyone to break out of character to look at him with wide eyes. The maknae cleared his throat as he realised what he did, and explained with faux professionalism, ‘You’re too close. Fans might get upset.’
If it was an actual rehearsal it probably would never have happened, seeing as the youngest was the most professional when it came to the partner choreography. But they couldn’t help but find it adorable. Especially when Sunoo had given him a sassy look and said, ‘Yeah… the FANS.’
Kiara laughed. “Tell me about it.”
“Wait until they find out he’s already dating someone,” Kiara’s partner said.
Kiara smiled knowingly. “It’s their fault for not letting Mila tell them.”
The day that Mila had found out her partner was dating someone — a few days after her initial make-up with the boys over their touchy performance — she immediately went to tell the boys about it to ease their jealousy. However, the boys being the way that they were, didn’t even let her finish. As soon as Mila mentioned that they didn’t need to be jealous of her partner, they started to reassure her instead.
‘It’s okay, you don’t have to explain,’ Jay had said. ‘We don’t mind that you guys are close. We trust you completely.’
‘Thanks for trusting me,’ Mila had said with a smile. ‘But if you do get jealous, then you should know—’
‘No,’ Jake interjected. ‘We’re totally okay. Not jealous at all. So don’t worry.’
Jungwon nodded. ‘That’s right. Because we know that you love us one-hundred percent.’
Mila had blinked and looked at Kiara, who was struggling to hold in her laugh. But upon her boyfriends’ insistence that they needed no reassurance, Mila took it that they really weren’t bothered anymore about the idea of her and her partner together. Though their actions said the complete opposite.
Kiara and the other dancers gasped when Mila suddenly slipped, watching her fall in almost slow-motion. But her partner, with his fast reflexes, had immediately caught her, holding her steady as he worriedly asked if she was okay. It looked like a scene right out of a drama, with the way that he was holding her. At that moment, there was a loud noise as the boys shot up from where they were sitting.
“Okay!” Heeseung called out, catching everyone’s attention. “I think everyone’s tired, right? We should pack up and call it a night.”
“Mila-yaaahhhh!” Sunoo immediately skipped over to Mila’s side, before practically yanking her away from her partner. He smiled innocently, as if he didn’t just show off a move of strength that did not match his pretty face. “Come on. You promised Jungwon-ah that you would practise the chorus part with him before we go.”
Jake threw an arm around her partner, steering him in the opposite direction while he went on about soccer and whatnot as a means to distract him from the fact he basically had his partner snatched from right under his nose. Kiara snorted as she watched it all go down, the female dancers and her own partner laughing as they shared knowing looks. Kiara shook her head.
‘Not jealous at all,’ they said. ‘Totally okay,’ they said.
Kiara sighed as she said loudly, “Stop bothering the poor boy and let him go. His boyfriend is probably waiting for him to get home.”
The boys froze while Mila blinked at their reactions and her partner laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. A few seconds passed. There was a complete silence. And then in true Enhypen male fashion, they all yelled in complete unison:

IT WASN’T MEANT TO GET THIS BAD.
But Mila had realised now that she had gone too far.
Jake had been playing with Lego a lot lately. Mila usually wouldn’t have cared too much about what they did in their spare time. But it had gotten to the point it consumed hours and hours of his time — including the time he was supposed to be spending with Mila.
“Plan on finishing that anytime soon?” Mila asked grumpily, her arms crossed over her chest as Jake remained fixated.
“Just give me a minute,” Jake said. “We can watch a movie after I finish this bit.”
Mila frowned. “You said that before…”
Jake sighed. Mila couldn’t tell if it was because of the Lego, or her.
“Come on, can’t you let it rest? We spend every day together — let me have some alone time, too, yeah?”
“I’ve been giving you days of alone time so you could play with your Legos,” Mila replied. “All I wanted was a hour of your time, but so guess I’m not worth that.”
Jake groaned. “That’s not what I meant and you know that.”
Mila scoffed. “Whatever. Do what you want and okay with your useless Lego.”
“Baby, wait.”
Jake reached out to grab Mila’s wrist as she stood from the seat. Out of pettiness, Mila quickly retracted her wrist. But when she did, she didn’t expect her action to cause Jake’s half-finished Lego set — the one he had spent a painstakingly em pint of time on — to go falling to the floor.
Mila gasped as the pieces shattered upon impact. What was once on the way to becoming a Hogwarts Castle was now reverted to a mess of disconnected Lego bricks on the floor. Mila covered her mouth, regret washing over her as she watched Jake’s expression shift from devastation to cold detachment.
“Jake, I’m so sorry.”
Jake let out a humourless chuckle.
“Are you?” he asked dryly. Mila went down to pick up the pieces, only for Jake to stand from his seat, annoyance clear on his features. “Just leave it. You’re the one who said it was useless anyway.”
And just like that, Jake left, leaving Mila surrounded by pieces of a broken castle.
Mila didn’t mean for it to get to this point. Even if she felt frustrated that Jake hadn’t been spending time with her, she never meant to undermine him for doing what made him happy. She thought of the day that Jake first came home with he set, and how brightly smiled at the prospect of completing it. For days, it was the one thing keeping him from being drowned in the stress that their recent promotions had been giving him.
And she had ruined that all.
“I’m such an idiot…”
Mila frowned as she looked at the disassembled pieces of the Lego set she managed to salvage. Even though Jake told her to leave it be, she couldn’t. Not after seeing the look of disappointment when he had as he watched his creation crumble.
As soon as he left, she quickly picked up all the bricks and shoved them back into their box. She then took it to her room where she cried and reprimanded herself in private — before giving herself a new mission.
Mila sniffled. Hours had passed since the argument and her legs were feeling stiff after sitting on the floor for so long. But no matter how long she sat there for, it felt as if she was getting nowhere with her attempt to rebuild the castle she had destroyed.
“Fucking hell,” she cursed as she aggressively opened the blueprint with one hand, while holding a stray brick in the other. “What even is this?”
Mila was never one to curse haphazardly. But she cousins deny that the hours of trying to navigate where to put what brick — especially when they all looked the same. She sighed as she threw the blueprint to the side.
She stared at her creation, biting her lip as tears of frustration pricked her eyes.
She desperately wanted to run to Jake at that moment, to apologise over and over again for what she did and said. To see him smile and shower her with his loving kisses and smiles — and of course those flirty remakes he loved so much.
But she couldn’t. Not because of her pride, but because she refused to go back empty-handed.
Even if she didn’t finish it completely, she had to at least rebuild the castle to the state it was at before she so carelessly destroyed it.
Mila took in a deep breathe. Come on, she thought. This is your fault, so you have to fix it.
Now, Mila could see how Jake had spent hours on end doing what she was doing now. It really wasn’t something that could be done in the span of a few minutes. She groaned as she stretched out her legs.
Mila looked at her creation and sighed. Almost there… she frowned as she looked around for the final piece she needed to assemble. Where is it?
Mila stood up, limping slightly. She turned around, looking for the missing piece when a sudden sharpness pricked the bottom of her foot.
“Ouch!” Mila hissed. She grabbed her foot, before glaring down at the cause of her pain.
It was the piece she was looking for.
Mila could almost laugh. Stepping on a Lego? Really? Well, she thought. I did kinda deserve it…
Chuckling quietly to herself, Mila put the final piece in place. Now, her creation was almost identical to what Jake’s looked like before she knocked it over. It took her a while, and several cups of energy drinks, but she finally did it. In record timing, too.
I guess I’m kinda good at this Lego thing, Mila thought proudly. (She had played with it once with Riki, but never actually tried to build anything other than a simple heart.)
Nodding in satisfaction, she picked up the loose pieces and put them back in plastic bag that were originally in. Now it’s time to move it…
Mila thanked her past self for having the brains to build the castle on top of the Lego set box, as it meant she could use it as a tray to carry the thing out of her room. She placed it on the coffee table on the middle of the living room, knowing that Jake would be able to find it as soon as he woke up.
With that, Mila went to her room. Yawning, she turned on her phone to check the time.
3:29AM.
Mila groaned and threw her phone back into the bed. She followed soon after, falling onto the bed without even tucking herself under the sheets.
As soon as she hit the mattress, it was lights out.
By the time she woke up, she realised she wasn’t alone. It took her a hot second to realise she was being held, with her head being stroked softly. And at that moment, she looked up to see the person she least expected to see.
“Jake?” she mumbled groggily, her eyes still adjusting. When she realised who was there with her, they widened substantially. “What are you doing here?”
Jake hummed and kissed the top of Mila’s head. It was a kiss full of affection and warmth, so soft and tender Mila never expected it from the person she managed to hurt.
“I wanted to say sorry,” Jake replied. Before Mila could respond, he gently shushed her. “Shhh… Let me say what I need, okay?”
Mila nodded.
Jake smiled before resting his forehead against hers.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I kept putting you aside when you should have been my first priority. And I made you feel like you weren’t worth my time.” Jake sighed. “And instead of apologising for hurting you, I got mad at you and left… but you still ended up rebuilding that castle again for me, didn’t you?”
Mila nodded, averting her eyes. “It was my fault it broke in the first place… I never should have made you feel like your hobbies don’t matter. I know how happy they make you. I was wrong for not respecting that. I’m sorry, too.”
Jake chuckled. “You’re wrong about that.” When Mila furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, Jake elaborated. “You know, at times like this I wonder how someone like you fell in love with me. You’re so perfect for me.”
Jake gently brushed a lock of hair behind Mila’s ear.
“Thank you for what you did,” Jake said. “And I’m sorry again.” Jake pecked Mila softly on the lips. “What do I do to make it up to you? Should we watch a movie? Is there anything you want to eat?”
Mila shook her head.
“Then what?” Jake asked. “Don’t hold back. You deserve everything in the world. Anything you want.”
“‘Anything’?” Mila repeated with a smile. “Even you?”
Jake said. “You already have me. You always have.”
Mila hummed and nuzzled her nose into his chest. “Then that’s all I need.”
Jake chuckled. “Are you sure?”
Mila nodded, a sense of sleepiness overcoming her as she yawned. “Yeah… ‘m too tired to do anything else.”
Jake smiled at Mila, a fierce love tugging at his heartstrings, watching as her eyes shut and she fell into slumber. He knew she would say something like that; and it only made him melt as he remembered the half-built castle in the living room.
Truth be told, he didn’t have the heart to touch it. Not when Mila had so lovingly built it from scratch. Just the thought of her staying up all night madd him even more determined to spoil her in every way known to man once she was fully awake.
“Sleep tight, baby,” Jake whispered fondly.
“When you wake up, I’ll make you the happiest girl in the world.”

Five Hargreeves was a lot of things.
Arrogant, rude, and egotistical were some of them. He was also a loner who preferred the quiet of his room then the sound of his siblings screaming.
This was why when Five was assigned a partner for a mission by The Handler, he was not happy. Some might say he overreacted, but Five felt his little fit was reasonable. He’s never worked with anyone before, and there was no reason to. He got his work done just fine on his own. So why now was he having to be paired up?
See, that was the real kicker for him.
“This mission is a little… different from your other ones,” The Handler explained.
“Different how?” Five pressed, leaning on her desk.
She clicks her tongue. “I need information extracted before you complete your kill.”

When Mila was a special Music Bank MC with Chaemin, they interviewed Stray Kids for their ‘S Class’ win. Chaemin was in the middle of interviewing Changbin, when he accidentally calling him “Binchang”, causing Mila to laugh hysterically one the side.

Then it was Mila’s turn to ask a question, which she was supposed to direct towards Lee Know.
“Now please tell us about your newest 3rd album that was released today!” she said cheerfully.
She smiled at the camera before turning her head to look at Lee Know, only to make sudden direct eye contact with Hyunjin. She jolted slightly and quickly turned back to the camera out of shock, blinking rapidly. Hyunjin, however, didn’t budge an inch.

Mila smiled and nodded along with Lee Know’s words. But a few seconds in, she slowly started to look over her shoulder again.

At that moment, Mila made eye contact with him once again. Only this time, she didn’t look away. Instead, she awkwardly maintained it, as if they were in a silent staring competition.
Mila delivered her lines with a professional smile. But throughout the entirety of the entire interview, whenever it was someone else’s turn to speak, both she and Hyunjin could be seen side-eyeing each other.

In the background, Seungmin — who was standing between the two — could be seen trying to hold back a laugh whenever he witnessed their odd looks exchanged.

During the I-Land Episode with the Seventeen mini-test — were Dino, Hoshi, The8 and Jun were judges — Mila was (of course) in the ‘Pretty U’ team. When the SVT members arrived, she and her other team members were still in their practice room, so they immediately went rushing over to meet up with the SVT members and the ‘Hit’ team in the other practice room.
As Mila was running in, Hoshi was waving with a bright smile on his face. Mila bowed and looked up again — and as soon as she made eye contact with Hoshi, she squealed and buried her face in her hands before running to hide behind Sunoo.

When it was time to perform, they cheered whenever it was her turn in the centre. But the most memorable moment was when Mila was in the centre for the final chorus. She sang the ‘nan yeppeoda’ with the sweetest smile on her face, her cheeks looking extra fluffy, and paired with a wink.
As soon as she did the unintentional aegyo, Hoshi and The8 both squealed, with the latter falling on top of the former.
“Milaaaaaaaaa!” Hoshi yelled with a smile.

At the 2022 Melon Music Awards — aka the goldmine of iconic reactions to Mila — Mila had the ending fairy after the performance. The camera got a close-up of her face, zooming in to get a shot of her fierce expression, causing the crowd to go wild.
Of the Newjeans members, Haerin could literally be seen staring at the monitor like a wide-eyes cat, to the point she was barely even blinking; Danielle “oooooh”ed while clapping her hands and Hyein could be seen mouthing the words “wah” in amazement.

“Aish,” Mila cursed as she revealed herself, causing both Haechan and Renjun to laugh. “Did you see that?”
Haechan widened his eyes as he played dumb. “See what?”
Renjun immediately played along. “Right. I didn’t see anything.”
Mila narrowed her eyes. “You’re lying to me right now.”
“Well, obviously,” Haechan responded sassily.

“Goodbye.” Mila pretended to leave, causing both boys to laugh. But of course, she didn’t actually leave, and instead started to engage in conversation with them. “By the way, are you okay with being filmed?”
“Shouldn’t that have been the first thing you ask?” Renjun asked with a smile. “What are you filming?”

The sudden switch to Chinese caused Haechan to look at Renjun with a confused expressions.

Mila suddenly switched the conversation to Haechan, whose eyes were darting between the two like ping pong balls. Very confused ping pong balls.
“No,” Renjun replied.
“Let’s pretend to badmouth him.”
As soon as Mila said that, Renjun gasped and covered his mouth, before looking at Haechan with an expression of disbelief. “Heol…”
“Why?” Haechan asked. “What is it?” he turned to Mila. “Yah, you just badmouthed me, didn’t you?”
Mila blinked innocently. “Of course not.”

Jun was in the middle of a live when he suddenly got a phone call. He smiled before announcing, “It’s Mila.”
He answered the call and held it to his ear.
“Wéi?”
Jun hummed as Mila said something on the other side of the line. He laughed at something she said before nodding, staying quiet through the entire time she was speaking.

“Ah, really?” Jun smiled widely. “Thank you, Minglu, I really appreciate it.”
The two talked for a bit longer before Mila hung up, leaving Jun back to continue his live. When the fans asked about why Mila called, Jun smiled and explained.
“Mila was making mooncakes and called to say that she would bring some over for me and the members.”
Jun chuckled as the comments cooed over how cute she was, and what a good dongsaeng she was to them.
“I agree.”

Mila and Shuhua were tasked with frying chicken together, giving them the opportunity to talk as they prepared the batter the chicken.
“Look carefully,” Shuhua said confidently as she held a piece of chicken above the boiling — and therefore extremely hot — oil, “Eonnie will show you the proper way to fry chicken.”
Mila let out an impressed sound as Shuhua fried the chicken.
“See? Didn’t I tell you?” Shuhua said smugly. Mila looked at the chicken and nodded.
“Right. Eonnie, you’re kind of cool.”
Shuhua pretended to flip her hair. “Right?”
For a moment Shuhua turned to look up at Mila, causing her to furrow her eyebrows. Shuhua looked down at Mila’s shoes and then back up at Mila’s face, all while Mila was preoccupied with crying more chicken.
“Yah, how tall are your insoles?” Shuhua asked.
Mila raised her brows. “I’m not wearing any.”
Shuhua let out an offended noise. “Liar. There’s no way you’re this tall.”
“You’re just short,” Mila responded, causing Shuhua to gasp.
“W-what did you just—” Shuhua took a deep breathe and closed her eyes. She brought a hand to her head as if she was getting a headache. “Kids these days have no respect.” After shaking her head, Shuhua rolled up her sleeves. “Bend down.”
“Ah, I don’t want to,” Mila said.
“Then take off your shoes.”
Mila made a disgusted expression. “I’m not taking my shoes off in a kitchen.”
“Then I don’t care what you do!” Shuhua said. “Get below my eye level, my neck is hurting!”

Later when they were skinning the meat, Mila looked at Jay’s professional handling of the knife in awe. “Wah… Oppa, you look really cool right now.”

Jay smiled brightly. Meanwhile, Shuhua asked, “What about me? I’m cooler right?”
Mila eyed the meat that Shuhua was working on. She made a non-committal noise. “It’s so-so.”
Shuhua let out an affronted gasp and pushed Mila’s shoulder gently, causing her to giggle. But then Mila realised that Shuhua’s gloved hand left a bloody print on her uniform, causing her to gasp.
“Eonnie, you killed me!” Mila exclaimed. She leaned against the bench while clenching her fist and placing it over her heart. “I’m dead…”

The two girls hugged while pretending to cry. Meanwhile Sunghoon watched them both with zero expression and Jay shook his head.

After the ceremony was over, idols were everywhere — around the stage, in the seating area, just everywhere. Mila hadn’t been paying attention for a moment, and by the time she was, she realised she wasn’t with her group anymore.

When she couldn’t find them, she started to wander around mindlessly like a lost puppy, trying to find the rest of the group.
While she was wondering around, Mila was spotted by Felix, who called out to her. Mila turned around at the sound of her name, before smiling when she saw Felix and the other Stray Kids members.
She rushed over and started to talk to Chan and Felix while the other members watched the exchange. After she finished explaining, they all seemed to be helping her search for the rest of her group. To the point where they even accompanied her around the stage until she was reunited with them.

Later on, during a solo live, Mila explained to fans who were curious about what happened.
“So, I looked away for like one second, right? And then when I turned around, everyone was just gone,” Mila said. “So I tried looking for my group and then all of a sudden I heard Felix-oppa call my name, and then Channie-oppa was like calling me to go over, so I did. And they just stuck with me until I found the others.”
Mila nodded. Then after a few seconds she laughed.
“It was funny though, because we were all looking around for everyone — but like you know how Channie-oppa is kinda like really short?”
Mila laughed as comments started to agree with her.
“Well, yeah, I asked if she was able to see anyone because there were so many tall people, and he was just like, ‘I can jump like a kangaroo, you know?’” Mila giggled. “It was really funny.”

When Mila first walked in, she was holding a bag. Yoongi immediately stood from his seat to greet her like she usually did with the other guests.
Mila gave her gift to him and then the two started to make small talk to start off the show. Yoongi then asked, “Do you remember why I invited you?”
Mila bit back a smile. “It’s because I kept bothering you, wasn’t it?”
Yoongi laughed. “Right.” He turned tot he camera and started to explain. “As soon as she saw the TXT boys come here, she started to text me non-stop saying, ‘Can I come on your show, too?’ and ‘I promise I can do well’ like some sort of advertiser.”
Mila laughed and covered her face in embarrassment.
“You didn’t need to tell them that.”

After the initial start, the two started to talk more comfortably.
“Suga-sunbaenim, you—” Yoongi blinked as he processed Mila’s words.
“Oh, wait a minute— why are you speaking so politely all of a sudden?” Yoongi turned to the camera. “Everybody, don’t be fooled. She’s not usually this formal with us.” Mila burst out laughing.
“Sorry.” she amended, “Yoongi-oppa.”
“What is it?” he asked nonchalantly.
For no reason, Mila started to laugh again.

“Be honest,” Yoongi said. “When you first saw me, what was your first impression?”
Mila winced. “Honestly?”
Yoongi nodded. “Honestly.”
“Yoongi-oppa, when I first met you…” Mila looked at him with a completely serious expression. “I thought you’d rather be anywhere else.”
Yoongi blinked. “Like where?”
“Like your bed.”
There was a burst of laughter from behind the cameras as Yoongi blinked in astonishment, turning slowly to the camera like he was in The Office.
“But!” Mila added. “It was very cute, kind of like a cat.”
“Who are you calling cute?” Yoongi asked. “I’m a whole decade older than you.”
Mila choked on her drink.

One of the most iconic reactions to Mila ever had to be when she was unknowingly caught on camera during MAMA 2022. She was smiling and lip-syncing to ‘Darari’, which Engenes would know was her favourite song from Treasure.
Her eyes were sparkling as she mouthed the lyrics, her eyes trained on the performance. But during the song, the camera went to capture idol reactions, and ended up landing on Mila.
She was practically glowing because of how happy she was, and the crowd let out sounds of awe from how pretty she looked. She then jumped when she realised she was being filmed and simply nodded at the camera while laughing, before gesturing with her hands for them to focus on the performance again.
There were several reactions that were captured, including several idols smiling at each other or looking in awe. But the most notable had been that of the Treasure members themselves who — upon seeing what Mila did — lit up happily, smiling widely. Something they could afford seeing cameras attention had been diverted from them for a moment.

THERE WERE A LOT OF FAULTS THAT SOMEONE COULD FIND IN THEMSELVES.
Mila, herself, was not free of these kinds of thoughts. They came and went. Sometimes it was sudden, crashing over her like a tidal wave; sometimes it was slow, like the gradual flooding of a house. But each time, it left Mila with a sense of awareness. The fact that, no matter what she did, she was never happy with who she was, or who she was trying to become.
She wasn’t always like this. Years ago, before she ever knew the cruel reality of the world, she was but a carefree young girl. But just like all things in life, those times came to an end. And in their place were the cameras, the fame, the media — the hate…
The Mila from the past had never been the type to care about others’ perception. She couldn’t have cared less what people thought of her looks, or her body. Least of all people she didn’t even know. So when did that change?
Easy. It changed when she found people whose opinions actually mattered to her.
Sometimes, Mila thought that loving the boys was both the easiest and the hardest thing to do. Because everything about being with them felt so right — and yet, she couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if things went wrong. And after just one comment, a single string of words from a faceless user on the internet, she suddenly found herself caring way too much.

It was laughably casual, the way the comment was written. As if the user didn’t think of the ways their words could hurt— or at the very least, didn’t care. Mila wondered if they somehow found a way to read her mind, with how easily they nitpicked at one of her greatest insecurities so far.
It started a while back.
Mila didn’t know how, or when, but for some reason, she had indeed gained. She didn’t realise it at first. But then after weighing herself, the sheer difference in the numbers that the scales showed her had felt like a slap in the face. It was a wake up call that she didn’t even know she needed.
It only went downhill from there.
From then on, it only became too obvious. What Mila didn’t notice before, she now started to become hyper aware of: the way her jeans started to feel a little tight around the thighs, the way her bust had grown to the point that she almost went up a cup size, the way her jawline had started to lose definition…
That wasn’t the end of it, either. It only got worse once other people started to take notice of it, too.
During one of her outfit fittings for the next comeback, the stylists had brought out some of the outfits that she was meant to wear with a sense of excitement. She was, after all, their favourite doll. There was nothing they loved more than being able to dress her up and seeing their visions come true and who they deemed the ideal model.
But that particular day, the stylists had taken notice of the fact that their beloved Barbie had undergone some change.
“What’s this?” One of the head stylist’s furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to zip up the skirt that they brought out for Mila to try on. She turned to one of the junior stylist’s with a critical eye. “Are you sure you gave the tailors the right measurements?”
The junior stylist nodded furiously. “It’s 24 inches.”
The head stylist frowned. “Then why isn’t it zipping up?” she sighed before unzipping it. “Sorry,” she said to Mila, with a hint of disappointment. “It looks like we have to get it resized.”
Mila’s face flushed as the room went quiet, a sense of guilt and embarrassment washing over her. Her fittings were usually accompanied by the sound of constant praises. But this time, there was only an uncomfortable silence.
Then, there were the comments… How could Mila forget them?

Mila couldn’t remember the last time she felt so humiliated. And it only made her more determined for things to go back to how they were before.
Mila frowned as she stared in her mirror, angling her body to see the different parts of her that had changed as a result of her weight gain. Even with her belt buckled to the very last slot, her waist didn’t seem to be anywhere near the size that it used to be. Not to mention, her abs were much less visible than they used to be.
Her eyebrows furrowed in frustration. Why couldn’t she just go back to how she was before? Moreover, how could she be so careless to begin with?
Most importantly, though…
What would the boys think if they started to realise it, too?
Those loving smiles they’d give her as they called her the prettiest girl in the world… would they still be there? Would they still see her as someone to be loved and cherished? Would they still be able to look at her with the same adoration if she looked like a completely different person?
Mila frowned.
“Mila?”
Mila jolted in her seat as one of her managers called for her attention. The other two people in the room — a member of the PR team, and one of the dieticians that works exclusively for the company — exchanged glances.
“Did you hear what he said?” Mila’s manager asked, a pained look on her face.
Mila bit her lip. She nodded. “Yes…. I heard.”
The PR staff member sighed.
“Sorry that it came to this, but the hate you’ve been receiving for your weight gain—” (Mila flinched.) “—has been getting out of hand. If it gets any worse, it could affect the other members. At this rate, the only other option is for you to take a hiatus…”
“No!” Mila yelled. “Please don’t make me take a hiatus— please, anything by that.”
Mila’s manager placed a comforting hand on Mila’s arm. “Shhh, it’s okay. You won’t be forced to go on hiatus.”
“Granted that you follow instructions,” the PR staff member said, earning a glare from Mila’s manager. “The company gave you freedom to eat what you wanted because you were good at looking after your figure and making sure you stayed in shape… But now that it’s come to this, we have no choice but to put you on a diet. Do you understand?”
Mila bit her lip. Tears pricked at her eyes as she realised the gravity of her situation. Because of her carelessness, she was drawing negative attention to the group. The more she thought about it, the more she realised just how badly she messed up.
She nodded.
“I understand.”
It was funny — in a twisted sort of way — how things changed.
Just a month ago, people had been praising Mila for being the standard to be upheld. She was put on a pedestal for the mere act of breathing, hailed like a goddess in human form. And now those same eyes that once looked upon her with adoration were filled with disgust and disappointment.
But that was just how it was, wasn’t it? Nothing good ever lasted long. Mila was starting to see that.
But in that case, what about the boys? They were one of the best things that Mila had ever found in life. So if nothing good ever lasted…
Then how long would they last with her?
MILA WAS GETTING IMPATIENT.
It had been a week since she was put on a strict diet by the company, and she wasn’t observing results fast enough for her liking. She was eating far less than she was used to — three small meals a day, without meat or snacks — and still hadn’t lost much. She was even going to the gym a lot more often. But every time she stood on the scales, she was disappointed to find that there was barely any change — if at all.
And what was worse was that it was getting harder to hide from the boys. Any day now, she knew they would catch on. After all, how could they not? It was so obvious that her body had undergone change; soon even the oversized shirts she wore around the house wouldn’t be able to mask it.
This was the first time she was hiding something so major from them… and yet, she couldn’t stand the thought of telling them.
It was stupid, she knew it. But every time she thought of the possibility of them realising what was wrong, she felt herself slip further into a dangerous line of thought. Mila didn’t want to ever subject herself to the sort of thoughts plaguing her right now…
But all she could think was that she hated her body right now. And by extension, herself.
Mila loathed the possibility of them seeing this side of her — a side so dark and consuming, it would only ruin them all. Like a blackhole devouring everything in its wake until there was nothing left.
No. Mila couldn’t subject them to that. They deserve more than that. They deserved more than her.
She wanted — needed to do better.
Mila found herself in front of the mirror once again. Frustration bubbles up inside her as she realised just how little she had changed. Leaning towards the mirror, she pulled at her cheek, realising just how far it stretched when she did so.
Mila had always had a rounder face due to baby fat. However, after debuting she happily observed that it was starting to fade away with age, giving her face much more contour. Now it seemed it was all coming right back, making her look and feel like a bloated marshmallow.
Then there was the matter of her “assets” — namely her thighs, buttocks and bust. Whenever she gained weight, they automatically went to those places, making it nearly impossible for her to hide. If it were only her stomach, she could simply wear shapewear to help make it seem flat and avoid crop tops. But it was dififcult to hide her gained weight when those areas were the ones most accentuated by the clothing she wore.
Her jeans now looked like they would burst at the seams and her tops looked as if they were sized for children when she wore them.
Mila bit her lip. What did she have to do?
“Byeol-ah?”
Mila jolted at the sound of Sunoo’s voice at her door.
“Y-yeah?” she replied, internally cursing her voice for coming out as weakly as it did.
There was silence.
Then, Sunoo asked, “Are you okay?”
Mila should have expected Sunoo to immediately figure out that something was wrong, and yet she still found herself taken aback. How was it possible that there was someone who could read her so well, even when he couldn’t see her?
And what did Mila ever do to deserve someone like that in her life?
Even to this day, she still didn’t know.
Mila’s lower lip quivered. There was a stinging sensation in her eyes as she stood there, her fist clenched in silent frustration. All the hate comments, the company’s treatment of her, her body’s refusal to comply with her wishes… They were coming back stronger than ever to haunt her. To rub her helplessness in her face.
Why couldn’t she be better? Why did she have to be so… so… worthless?
“Mila?” Sunoo asked worriedly. “Mila? Are you there?”
Mila swallowed the lump in her throat.
“I’m okay,” she lied. “Just… I’m just trying to get some sleep.”
There was silence.
Sunoo sighed. “Okay, if you say so. But… if you need anything, I’m here, okay? We all are.”
Mila closed her eyes. “I know.”
And that was precisely the problem.
They were here now… but what if, one day, they weren’t?
What if one day, they realised that she wasn’t worth the time they were giving her?
I’ll do better, Mila thought. I promise I’ll do better.
And Mila really wanted to. She did. But it was so hard to do when she realised just how insignificant she really was in the scheme of things.
Mila already entertained the thought of her men moving on from her in the future… But it was one thing to think, and another to see.
Wonyoung was a dear friend of hers. Mila adored the girl to bits. But at the same time, Mila couldn’t deny that she felt a sense of envy for the younger girl. She was beautiful, talented, and strong. Despite being younger, she had been in the idol industry longer than Mila had, and in everything she did, she always came out on top.
Mila was called an angel by Jay. But in her opinion, the real angel was Wonyoung. She was truly one of God’s favourites.
And Mila realised it now more than ever, as she watched her accept the Best Couple Award with Sunghoon.
Mila barely heard a thing. She could feel the worried glances of the boys, and so she made sure to keep her smile on her face. Not once did she let it slip. She was used to this, after all. Used to acting okay.
What she wasn’t used to was this new feeling in her gut, as she took in the sight of Wonyoung and Sunghoon standing side by side. They were equals in both looks and aura. Mila knew it, the crowd knew it; and deep inside, she was sure they knew it.
She felt a pang in her chest as Sunghoon handed the bouquet of flowers to Wonyoung with a smile. Jealousy.
Ah, Mila thought. That’s right.
Mila realised it then. She was just one girl in a world of billions. And among those billions of girls, there would also be someone prettier, someone better. So why would the boys stay with Mila? Who was to say they wouldn’t find someone else?
That night, when Mila sat curled up against the head of her bed — alone and cold in her bedroom — she let the tears flow freely down her cheeks as she shut her eyes in prayer.
Please, she begged. Please don’t take them from me…
But if they are meant to leave me…
And if they really aren’t meant to love me…
Then please let them be with someone who deserves them.

Sunoo noticed it first on that day when he knocked on her door, only to receive a shaky response in return. Mila claimed she was just trying to sleep, but Sunoo knew that wasn’t the case. Ever since she had gotten back from an appointment at the company, she had been shut off from everything — the boys included.
“Ah, seriously…” Sunoo watched as Riki angrily typed away at his phone. “Who do these people think they are? They’re pissing me off…”
Sunoo clicked his tongue as he looked over Riki’s shoulder. “More comments? Seriously, do they not have anything better to do…”
No matter how many times the boys tried to shut down all the hate comments, more sprung up in their place. They were like cockroaches who refused to die — every time the boys landed a hit, they somehow still managed to crawl on their final nerve. Really, it was amazing just how dedicated they were to ruining people’s lives instead of finding their own.
“What do they want? An award?” Sunoo asked.
“How could they ever think that she’s ugly?” Riki asked. “And why is it so hard for her to see that she’s beautiful, no matter what?”
It didn’t take a genius to figure out that these comments were the thing that had Mila acting so unlike her normal self. Her smiles were so half-hearted, and her eyes that usually sparkled so brightly were dull and empty.
But no matter what any of the boys did, she wouldn’t budge. No one knew what to do. Not when Mila’s shell was so hard to crack open.
Sunoo sighed as he looked at Mila’s door. The one that has remained shut to them for the past week.
If only Kiara were here, they could ask her to drag Mila out. But unfortunately, she had to go back home for personal issues — and none of the boys had the will to treat Mila so harshly. So they could only wait for her to leave her room to speak to her — which was rarely ever.
It was times like this when he realised how difficult their relationship was. Half the group were completely inexperienced (Mila included), and the other half that were experienced didn’t go through anything this serious with their previous partners. Their parents didn’t even have any idea of what was going on between them, either, so there went any hope of parental guidance.
They were navigating uncharted territory here. Sunoo just hoped they wouldn’t drown while trying to find shore.
“I’m worried,” Jay said, as the boys gathered in the living room. “We can’t keep going like this.”
“Agreed,” Jake said. “But it’s not like we have much of a choice. She won’t let any of us in, and she only leaves her room when she knows we won’t be around.”
“Then what the fuck do we do?” Sunghoon snapped. “She’s hurting herself and we’re just sitting here waiting for something to happen.”
“Sunghoon,” Heeseung warned.
“Hyung, don’t.” Sunghoon shook his head. “I don’t know how you’re managing to stay calm, but just so you know — Mila hasn’t eaten a proper meal in days now. And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s been overworking herself to the bone. Now she won’t even talk to us. Do you even care?”
Heeseung seethed. “You know I do.”
“It sure doesn’t look like it.”
“Hyungs!” The room went silent as all heads turned to face Jungwon, who had a serious expression on his face. “If you’re going to argue, do it later. We have more important things to do.”
“Right,” Sunoo agreed. “Like how to get Mila to talk to us.”
Sunoo knew that if they could just reassure Mila properly, with the right words, then she would come back. She had to. Every moment she was away from them was like living without their hearts in their chest — she held it wherever she went, and the further she was, then harder it was to breathe.
“When was the last time any of us even saw her?” Riki asked, his head bowed. “Sometimes, I can’t even tell if she’s still in the house with us…. She’s too quiet.”
Mila had always been good at hiding — whether it was for better, or for worse. He just wished she didn’t hide from them.
Sunoo opened his mouth to speak. But before he could, he was cut short by a loud bang.
“What the—?”
Sunoo didn’t even realise what was happening before Heeseung and Sunghoon were out of their seats. Jake and Jay exchanged glances before they were off as well. Riki shot out of his seat, following after them.
“That came from Noona’s room!” Jungwon yelled, as he jumped over one of the couches to join the other two.
That was all Sunoo needed to hear before he was running after them.
“Mila!” Jay yelled as he banged his fist against the door after realising it was locked. “Mila, are you okay?! If you don’t answer, I’m breaking this door down!”
No response.
“Fuck,” Jake cursed.
“Help me with the door!” Jay ordered.
Sunghoon immediately took his place beside the door as the two of them began to ram their shoulders in the door, the impact causing it to rattle. Jake ran off, leaving Riki behind as he shook, his hands on his heads as tears streamed down his face.
“Come on, love,” Heeseung whispered as he ran a hand through his hair, the grip tight enough to pull the strands from his scalp. “Come on, please— PLEASE...”
Sunoo realised at that moment that he was crying too. The stream of wet tears that fell down his face showing just how much fear coursed through his veins at that moment. He could only watch helplessly as Sunghoon and Jay tried to shoulder the door open by force. The pain must have been immeasurable.
But compared to the thought of Mila in trouble, it was nothing.
“Hyung, move!” Jungwon suddenly ordered.
Jay and Sunghoon immediately moved to make room. Jungwon positioned himself so he was parallel to the door, before lifting his leg. Without warning, he kicked it outwards so the the sole of his foot made impact with the doorknob, causing it to rattle.
He kicked it again. And again.
At that moment, Jake returned, holding a knife. “Wait!”
Jungwon immediately jolted, his breathing ragged. Jake took the pause in the younger male’s assault as a chance to slip the knife in the gap between the door and its frame, sliding it just between where the lock should be bolted into the hinge.
He shook it a bit before using it and pushed the knife to the right. There was a click.
“Hurry, hurry!” Jake yelled.
Jungwon immediately turned the doorknob, flinging the door wide open.
And there she was.
Mila, on the floor, her hair spread around her head like a halo. She was unmoving, simply lying there, not responding to any of the noise that was made outside her door. Unconscious.
“Mila!”
“Noona!”
The boys all rushed into the room towards the girl.
Sunoo fell to his knees beside her, watching as Jay picked her up from the floor, cradling her to his chest as he tapped her cheek.
“Mila? Angel, can you hear me?”
No response.
“She fainted,” Jay said, his voice shaking. He picked Mila up in her arms. “Come on. We’ll get her out of here — it’s too crowded. Sunoo, call the manager.”
It was a miracle Jay didn’t drop her from how much he was shaking. No one blamed him.
No one in the room at that moment was calm. Sunoo himself almost dropped his phone as he fumbled for it, his hands trembling from the shock. They couldn’t speak straight, or think straight.
The only thing on their minds was her.
MILA’S EYES FLUTTERED OPEN.
She wasn’t sure what happened. All she remembered was getting out of bed, only to feel incredibly dizzy. She had been weak for the past few days because of her unhealthy eating and exercising — and yet she couldn’t bring herself to stop. Every time she didn’t spend working out, she spent worrying about the fat she hadn’t burnt off yet; every time she ate a little bit more than she was supposed to, she found herself berating herself in the mirror when the scales showed a higher number than before.
Mila supposed it was only going to happen eventually. But even so, she didn’t stop. She couldn’t.
Mila furrowed her eyebrows when she realised that she was no longer in her room. It was Heeseung’s. Not only that— she wasn’t alone, either. As soon as she registered her surroundings, she saw the seven figures scattered around the room. As soon as they saw she was awake, they immediately rushed to her side.
“Noona!” Riki yelled.
He had been right by Mila’s bedside, clutching her left hand as Jungwon held her other one.
Mila groaned, her throat hoarse as she tried to talk.
The boys watched her with sad eyes, the heartbreak evident in their faces. Seeing it only reminded Mila of just how badly she had messed things up. How could she let them see her like this? How could she hurt them like this?
She avoided them for so long, locking herself away in her room, knowing full well that it would be equivalent to stabbing them in the heart… And yet, she did it anyway. She could still see the expression on Jay’s face when she refused the food that he had cooked for her; the anxiousness of Riki when she had asked him not to lie on her stomach; the guilt she felt when she had thrown away the pastry that Jake bought her from her favourite bakery…
She did so much to try and go back to her old figure. But it did nothing. She had one job to do— lose weight. It shouldn’t have been this difficult… so why was nothing working? Why was it that the only thing she could do properly was hurt the people who mattered most to her?
And how could they still be sitting here with her after all of that?
“How are you feeling?” Heeseung asked softly, patting her head so gently it was as if he were scared that she might break under her touch. “Are you in pain anywhere?”
Mila looked at him. Then she looked at the others. Their eyes were filled with so much worry, so much pain, she could feel it in her own being. The way her heart felt as if someone had grasped it in her chest, squeezing it so tightly it felt like she couldn’t breathe.
Mila didn’t know when a tear managed to escape her eye, but it was being rubbed away by Jungwon’s thumb.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.
The room fell silent. There was a tension in the air, so right she could almost hear the snap as Sunghoon spoke up. He was standing the furthest away, his arms crossed over his chest, his jaw clenched as he stared at Mila with vacant eyes.
“Why did you do it?”
The others didn’t say a word. Because they too wanted to know the reason.
Mila’s lip quivered as she held back a sob.
“I-I don’t know…”
“What do you mean, you don’t know?” Heeseung asked sternly. “Mila, you can’t do this to us. Please just tell us why you did this to yourself.”
Mila lowered her head. “I was scared.”
Sunoo reached over to place a hand on hers. “Why were you scared?”
Mila shook her head, her tears falling down to the blanket covering her.
“I was so scared of— of what you would think….” Mila bit her lip. “I was gaining so much weight and I- they- everyone was hating me for it.” Mila’s body trembled. “It was stupid, I know— but all I could think was-was what if… what if you didn’t want me after… I was scared of what you would think if you realised—!”
Sunghoon scoffed. “Bullshit.”
Mila’s heart dropped. “What…?”
“Hyung!” Sunoo yelled, a stern expression on his face. “Cut it out.”
“No, I won’t, so don’t tell me to,” Sunghoon said. He turned to Mila, his eyes blazing with an anger that Mila had only seen so many times on him before. “If you really cared for what we felt you never would have done this!”
“Hyung!” Riki protested.
“I said don’t!”
The room fell silent as Sunghoon raised his voice.
Mila’s eyes widened as Sunghoon took a deep breath, his shoulders shaking. He shut his eyes as he tried to gain his composure. And at that moment, Mila realised it. He wasn’t mad.
He was scared.
They all were.
“Do you even know what it felt like to find you like that?” Sunghoon whispered, a tear slipping from his eye. “Do you even know what was going through my mind when we threw the door open only to see you on the floor?”
Mila choked back a sob.
“Mila, you don’t even know half of what it felt like,” Jay added, his own eyes watering as they drifted off to a distant place, recalling the events that occurred. “When I got to you, you know the first thing I did?”
Mila shook her head.
“I checked if you were breathing.”
Mila froze.
Jay drew in a shaky breath. “That’s how scared I was Angel. You were so still and- and you weren’t moving—I… I never saw you like that before and I didn’t even know if you were still—“
Jay turned around, bringing a hand to his forehead as he dropped his head, unable to form words with how violently he was starting to cry. Heeseung immediately wrapped a shoulder around the younger male to comfort him, the trauma of being the one to check Mila being too hard for him to carry alone.
“We were all scared,” Jungwon said, a tear escaping his eye. “Noona, I don’t know why would would ever think that we would leave you— but that moment we saw you passed out on the floor just confirmed for all of us that we never want to let you go. Not like that. Not ever.”
“That’s right,” Jake said, speaking up for the first time. “You don’t know it, but we would do anything to be able to keep you with us forever. I mean it.”
Mila sobbed, hiccuping and stuttering as she realised the true gravity of what she’d done. The way she had undeniably scarred their hearts forever.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “I’m so sorry. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”
“Shhhhh…” Sunoo reached over and brought her to him, cradling her head to his chest. “We know….” A single tear slipped down his face as he buried his nose into her head. “We know…”
Soon, Mila could feel the bed dip beside her as another body reached to wrap their arms around her.
“Don’t ever do that shit again,” Sunghoon whispered. “Do you hear me?”
The words were harsh, but no one was fooled.
Everyone could tell just how shaken he was from the ordeal, even if he hid the tears that fell down his face as he buried his head in Mila’s shoulder.
“I won’t,” Mila said. “I won’t.”
After a few seconds, Mila broke away from the hug. She pulled Riki and Jungwon towards her, wrapping an arm each around the two youngest as they reciprocated, holding onto her as if she might disappear at any moment. They held her as if she might turn into seafoam, and float away, like the Little Mermaid.
“I’m sorry you had to see me like that,” she whispered.
They were so young and yet Mila must have given them the fright of their lifetimes.
“Just please don’t do it ever again,” Jungwon said. “I’m begging you.”
“Same here,” Riki added. He held out a pinky. “Promise me.”
Mila smiled for the first time in a long time. She linked their pinkies together. “Promise,” she said, before sealing her vow with a kiss.
As soon as she let go of Riki and Jungwon, who turned to face Jake, Jay and Heeseung.
“Come here,” Jake said, before pulling Mila into his chest. He sighed as she returned the hug, resting his cheek against her head. “I missed this... I missed you.”
Mila closed her eyes. “I missed you more.”
At that moment, Mila felt the warmth of another body wrapping their arms around both her and Jake.
“I love you,” Heeseung said.
Mila smiled. “I love you too.”
As soon as she pulled back from the hug, she turned to look at Jay. Her heart clenched as she saw him try to wipe the last of his tears with his shirt. Being the one who checked on Mila first, she couldn’t imagine the stress that it would have put him through.
Mila held her arms out. “Oppa,” she said, her eyes watering once more, “Can I please hold you?”
“Oh my god, yes,” Jay said, before pulling her to him. He didn’t even last a second before he was crying again, kissing every inch of Mila’s face, hugging her like this was his first time seeing her in a long trip.
And that was somewhat true.
“I’m so sorry,” Mila said, her tears coming back stronger than ever after seeing Jay’s desperation. “I’m so sorry, oppa, I’ll never do that to any of you again.”
Jay nodded, resting his forehead against her shoulder. “Are you hungry?” he asked. “I’ll cook your favourite for dinner, if you want.”
Mila nodded. “Yes, please.”
One by one, the other started to join in the hug, enveloping Mila with their warmth, as if urging her to stay. And Mila would. That day, Mila made a promise.
For as long as they would have her, she would never leave.
“I LOVE YOU.”
Mila smiled as the eight of them — her and the boys — gathered in the living room, where their blankets and pillows were all set up. After what had happened, they all agreed that they would feel much better if they could sleep together, especially with all the lost time they had to make up for.
They had dinner together for the first time in ages — and though Mila couldn’t quite finish it, seeing how much her appetite had shrunk, the boys were just glad to finally see her eating again. Mila promised that from now on, if she was going to try and lose weight, she would do it the healthy way instead. And the boys couldn’t have been happier.
Though, they did find it to be a shame.
“I don’t want your cheeks to go,” Sunoo said as he rubbed his cheeks against Mila’s. “They’re so soft… like cloud bread.”
To emphasise his point, Sunoo covered his teeth with his lips and bit onto Mila’s cheek, before tugging it.
“I know right,” Heeseung said as he pinched the other cheek, an adoring smile on his face as he felt the softness of them. “You’re so cute like this… Ah, what am I supposed to do if I can’t pinch them anymore?”
Mila giggled. It was amazing how the things that Mila found fault in were actually some of the things that the boys loved the most. When she first told them about her weight gain, she wasn’t expecting them to actually already know about it — or to find out that they didn’t even care.
In fact, in their eyes, it made Mila all the more lovable. Her rounder face made her seem youthful, and her curves were more feminine and graceful than ever before. Not to mention, her skin was so soft to the touch.
“Your tummy is so soft,” Riki said as he buried his head further into her stomach. “It’s like a pillow… I love it.”
Mila hummed and pat his head. “I’m glad.”
All of a sudden, Jake’s hand found itself on her thigh, massaging up and down the length of it with a smile.
“It fits perfectly,” he whispered in awe, “Look! It’s like it was made for my hand.”
Mila laughed and slapped Jake on the shoulder. “What even?”
“Just so you know, we love you no matter how you look like,” Jungwon spoke up. “You’re beautiful to us no matter what.”
Mila smiled softly, warmth and love washing over her. “And what if I’m not beautiful anymore?” she asked. “What then?”
“Then we’ll still love you anyway,” Jay interjected. “Because it’s you.”
“That’s right.” Sunghoon gently stroked the top of Mila’s head. “Even when we get old and wrinkly, we’d still be head over heels.”
“It doesn’t matter what you look like or how long it’s been,” Sunoo added. “We’ll love you all the same — in fact, we’ll just keep loving you more.”
“Forever,” Heeseung whispered. “I know it now — we all do. We know now that we’d love you forever.”
“And ever and ever,” Riki said.
Jake smiled. “Until the every end.”
Mila smiled at the thought.
She never once thought of the possibility of spending eternity with someone but this time… This time, she could see it. It didn’t matter how young they were, they had gone through enough together to know that this — the eight of them together — was something that could last.
One day, when her beauty had become a thing of the past, she would still shine wearing the smiles they gave her. One day, when they were too frail to walk, her love would keep them strong. And one day, when the world forgot who they were, and what they once stood for, they would at least be able to remember each other — and they would look back with fond smiles as they recounted the days of their youth… while also preparing for their future at the end of it all.
Ah, Mila thought. That’s right.
That was true love, wasn’t it? Something that withstood time itself. Something that transcended age or looks; something that didn’t have boundaries or borders. Something that just was.
That night, when Mila lay down to sleep, she wore a smile on her face, keeping her eyes wide open as she admired the faces of her loved ones beside her.

during one of the concerts in manila, mila did a cover of ‘money’ by lisa and you know how there is a part that goes “everyone silent”? yeah she did that, not really expecting fans to listen (since you know it was a concert) but to her surprise, they did. and it was epic.
she said “everyone silent” and put a finger to her lips. and no matter how hard everyone was fangirling/fanboying before hand, the whole place just went quiet. and my girl mila was SHOOK she was like 🫨😲🤭
then she went “listen to my money talk” and then the whole place went wild afterwards. filo engenes should be proud they made our girl the happiest woman alive 🥹 (naur bc fr they’re the best not even joking)

one of fans favourite things about mila this tour was the fact that she had actually gotten visibly tanned - and she rocked it so hard 😮💨 probably one of her most iconic looks, especially since she had the honey brown hair and blonde highlights during this tour 😍
and then pair it with the fact that she wore a backless top in one of the concerts in chicago 😮💨 and my girl was feeling herself that entire concert 🤭 like something about being on american soil just changed her for real 😩
the fact that she was also somewhat curvier (since she gained some weight during this era) made it worse because her figure was just that much more 🥴 so international engenes were dying after seeing her in real life 🤩

you know how heeseung always be body rolling his way through the aisles? 🫨 yeah well mila decided to take a lead out of his book and do the same thing 😍 except on a whole other level 😩
she would be getting right up against the barriers and getting down low so that all the engenes could see her up close 💀
probably the most iconic moment was when she was walking down the aisles in the crowd and a fanboy was losing his mind screaming dolphin screams when she came near 🤓 and mila being the tease that she is decided to go right up to him and turn her back before dropping it low right in front of him 😵💫

one time when the boys were performing the encore performance of ‘let me in’ and mila and kiara were on stage with them 🤓 but since it wasn’t their unit song, they weren’t really part of the performance as much as they were just interacting with fans 😇
mila came across a fan with a banner that said ‘mila be my girlfriend’ and she started to giggle (evilly) 🤭
so when it came to the part of the song where the boys sang “i’ll be your boyfriend”, mila pointed at the fan with the banner and said “i’ll be your girlfriend” before winking 😵💫

SUMMARY. Water is soothing, calm and pure — all the things Riki associated with Mila.
MILA NOW HAD A STARING PROBLEM.
It was confirmed. Because no matter how many times she looked away, her eyes always found themselves fixed on the boys again. Understandable, considering that many people would have the same difficulty controlling themselves around them. But the cameras had been spotting her for a while now with a wide-eyed stare, eyes full of stars, and cheeks tinged red as she admired the boys during their shoot.
It was time for the underwater shoots now, and Mila could feel her face getting hotter as she took her phone out to snap a picture of Sunoo, who lifted his head to face the ceiling, as the rest of his body remained submerged in the water.
“What are you doing?” Mila’s head whipped around at the sound of a familiar voice in her ear. She smiled as Riki looked down at her with mischief in her eyes.
“Nothing,” Mila said, blinking innocently. “Why?”
Riki laughed, his eyes crinkling as he placed a hand on top of Mila’s head. “Sure. You keep saying that.”
Mila’s cheeks flushed when Sunoo emerged from the water, his white shirt clinging to his body to outline his figure. She bit back a smile when Sunoo smiled at her from afar, waving enthusiastically. Mila giggled.
“How does he look so happy?”
Riki eyed her as she continued to giggle, before flicking through the photos that she took of the boys. “Don’t you think you’re being too obvious?”
Mila shook her head. “No.”
Riki laughed before swiping left on her phone to reveal a shot of Jungwon emerging from the water, his hand running through the wet strands of his hair. “Look. You keep taking photos like this — people might think you’re a creepy fangirl.”
Mila gasped, hitting Riki on the shoulder. “I am not!” she then pouted and leaned in towards his chest, punching it lightly and whispering in Japanese, “I’m their girlfriend.”
Riki looked down at her with a raised eyebrow. He chuckled before throwing an arm around her — ensuring that it looked casual enough to be considered ‘friendly’ rather than romantic. Like a close guy friend, rather than an actual boyfriend.
Mila went back to smiling as she pulled up a series of images of Jake, rising from the water to breathe after diving, his hands slicking his hair back from his fore ahead before rubbing his face. She squealed, clutching her phone to her chest.
“Look, doesn’t he look handsome?” Mila asked.
Riki scoffed. “I could do better.”
Mila laughed. “Of course, of course.”
At that moment, she looked up, her eyes meeting his. Seconds passed between them as they stared in each other’s eyes, their heads a little too close, and their eyes a little too bright. A sly grin started to make its way onto Riki’s face, as he leant down slightly.
“Should I prove it?” he asked quietly.
Mila laughed before playfully pushing him away by the chest. Riki laughed before grabbing her hand and squeezing it softly. At that moment, he heard his name being called by the director.
“I have to go now,” he said to Mila. With a pat on her head, he headed off to the director, who called him over. “Make sure to get a good angle of me, okay?”
Mila blushed, giggling bashfully as the younger male winked at her. “What’s with him all of a sudden? Seriously…” She scoffed as she raised her camera, focusing it on the tall boy as he posed. “He’s too handsome for his own good.”
When Riki deliberately made sure to make eye contact with her, she smiled.
When he wasn’t looking, she quickly switched to video mode, recording him as she obediently followed the director’s instructions. With that, she started to record a message in the background with a smile on her face.
When Riki finished, he immediately ran over to join her again. “How did I do?” he asked, eager to be praised.
Mila hummed. But she didn’t say anything. The director called her name, causing her to smile at Riki apologetically before handing her phone to him.
“I’ll be back, okay?”
Riki opened his mouth to protest before letting it close again. As disappointed as he was to not receive any praise from her, he knew he couldn’t disturb her when she was in professional mode. With a sigh, he unlocked her phone, intending to go through all the photos she took.
Just how good did his hyungs do that she couldn’t even compliment him once?
He clicked his tongue as he swiped past an admittedly good picture of Heeseung, before he got back to the recent pictures of Sunoo… and finally, the pictures she took of him. His eyes widened as he found a video — the last thing Mila took before she ran off. He played it, only to hear her voice in the background.
“Riki,” she whispered into the microphone, “You… really did this good this comeback. I’m super proud of you and what you’ve done. Not just this shoot, but every shoot before this, too. When you dance and when you sing, and even when you’re just smiling because of how happy you are to be doing what you love.. Just know, I’ll always be your biggest fan. Love you.”
Riki smiled. “Why couldn’t you just say so…?” he said fondly. He shook his head as he opened the camera, before focusing it back on Mila.
He laughed as she waved at him, before changing to video mode. The director asked her to do a specific pose, and instantly her demeanour changed. As she gradually submerged herself into the water, step by step, it was like witnessing the descent of an other worldly being. A goddess making its way down to Earth.
Riki’s eyes softened as he took in her beauty, a fluttering feeling in his heart.
“Do you remember the take I told you about Kahuya-hime?” he asked.

he's driving everyone insane. Keeps dropping subtle hints that no viewer catches but his manager eyes him like a hawk on award shows and lives. If you're a few feet away from him, he'll glance at you or turn his head in your direction and pretend he's looking at something over there. When your eyes meet in the crowd, he winks at you, expression smug. Then turns around with a blank face as if you're not chewing away your lips to not let a bright smile out. Cameras are recording? Okay and? He might not be able to show you off but he's not going to act like you're a stranger. He would be the first to tell his fans about his relationship, I don't see him as someone who would wait for dating rumours or leaked pictures- it's his personal business and he'd want control over how it's revealed.

very chill about it. He has never been soo normal and calm haha 👍. He finds himself in an internal dilemma every time you're at shows. Keeps chanting don't look over and over again. Values his career and yours and doesn't want to do anything stupid. He knows how fans are so instead he tries to be sneaky about it. Buys you a bracelet and tells you to wear it when you're at the airport. You don't think too deeply, heart fluttering at the loving gift. A few days later, he uploads a selfie, a peace sign on display as well as an identical bracelet snug around his wrist. Some people are speculating but it's nothing big enough for the companies to intervene. Laughs when you call him and says it was a complete coincidence.

PDA? Jokes? Small talk? Baby, you are a hallucination. It's a jarring contrast to how he acts when it's just you because he will NOT make eye contact. He'll stand "near" you not next to you. He knows how vile people on the internet can be and idols get enough of that already. He doesn't want to put you in a compromising position but it's so painful to pretend that nothing is happening between you two. So, he'll do small gestures like during award shows, he'll tell Jungwon to hand over his cushion/blanket to you or your group leader. Be more platonic or "caring" about it so it doesn't seem unusual in the public eye. Sends bouquets to your makeup room and signs the note from enhypen. He's great at fooling.

he's so ecstatic about it. He would pray and pray to get you as a co-mc, and then he'd be able to spend more time and come on camera without any nasty rumours. Plus certain scripts have cheesy pickup lines he'd abuse just to get a reaction out of you. The scriptwriters are enjoying your dilemma because they're having fun making silly cutesy scenarios where Sunghoon has to twirl you or gift you fake flowers. Fanservice of course nothing more. He loves how most people ship you because of the ""chemistry"". Giggles on call while he sends you tabloid links that talk about you two. The last nail in the coffin is when he practically describes you as his ideal type. He doesn't know if it slipped out or if it was intentional. They need to pay the manager more.

the guy who openly calls you his friend. He's the type to introduce a 'slow burn' to ease the public. His fans are used to seeing him talk about you and your group, he doesn't overdo it. Sometimes you talk about him and his group. If a comment asks him to talk about a favourite member in your group he will ignore that, and pretend he never read it because your name would slip out. Defends you in subtle ways by making off-handed comments such as "idols can have off days" or "people shouldn't comment on someone else's appearance. It's not right". Fans make those platonic edits and photoshop you two together in pictures. You bite your fist every time he sends them to you, giggling at how people want to see a collab. That would be his dream. He's def at your concert.

He's a leader, he's got a lot on his plate but he's also great at controlling himself. people won't suspect a thing when he stands next to you because he stands like 🚹. No fun edits because people can't even tell that you know him, let alone date him. He makes up for it with his love language. Eventually, he'll relax for a bit when he's assured that no one is waiting to get him and his love. He can never be too careful which is why when he can't "do" things publically to help you, he would warn you about certain people/situations. In award shows, if his eyes wander away from his members it's to see if you're safe and comfortable. Once his fears are calmed, he can relax and enjoy the show. Stares at you when he thinks no one is looking.

He's just here to have a good time. He prays and wishes for collabs and gets sad whenever nothing happens. He's the type to send you small trinkets as gifts…like an inside joke except there's no joke and Niki feels giddy when he sees your selfie and a familiar charm tied in your phone case. At shows or encore stages, he'll stand behind you (pretends he's doing that because he's soo tall he blocks everyone) and keeps poking you and you have to maintain your expression. Other idols around you know something is up but they don't know what is. He's treading the line between platonic and romantic love. Does the classic rizz move -> notices confetti stuck in your hair and plucks it out, then bows in and greets you casually as if your face isn't red.

Synopsis: Harry falling more and more for y/n Weasley.

Second year:
The flight had been rather calm. For a fourteen-year-old, Fred had been driving quite well, a little wobbly at times, but not something that had made George, Ron, or Harry freak out. It had been dark when the flying blue car had suddenly appeared outside Harry's window. The three Weasley brothers had shown up at just the right time, helping him get out of 4 Privet Drive. Harry knew that his aunt and uncle would not have done what they did if it weren't for that elf. Dobby. But now he was away from there, and Fred had just landed the car outside a house that was built as if with time, more rooms had been built on it, adding on to the height.
As they entered, Harry was hit by a domestic feeling. The house is homely. As they entered the house and entered the kitchen, Harry noticed how each chair was unique. Even the cabinets were an assortment of different styles. The water at the sink was running and a pan was being washed by nothing. It was a spell.
Harry continued into the house and stopped at a clock-like thing where he could see pictures of all the Weasley siblings he'd met. The three pictures of Ron, George, and Fred moved from standing on "Lost" to "Home". The green-eyed boy scanned it and could even spot the three other siblings' pictures on the clock. Percy, Ginny, and y/n all pointed to "bed". Signalling that the other three were still asleep just at this moment. His eyes stayed a bit longer on the picture of y/n before he turned to what was left of the living area. In an armchair, it was as if someone was invisible and knitting, a pair of tapestry needles moving and knitting something Harry had no idea of what.
"It's not much, but it's home." Ron said this while chewing on a cookie from the table.
"I think it's brilliant," Harry breathed and looked up in amazement. Still in awe of it all.
The quiet and peaceful feeling soon left, however, as it felt as if his soul had left his body when Molly Weasley appeared out of nowhere.
"Where have you been?" She exclaimed at her sons, but quickly softened on seeing Harry for a split second. "Harry, how wonderful to see you, dear."
Ron, George, and Fred looked down as Molly continued. "Beds are empty. No note. Car gone. You could've died. You could have been seen. Of course, I don't blame you, Harry, dear. "
"They were starving him, mum, and put bars on his window!" Ron protested, and Harry nodded along with his friend.
"Well, you best hope I don't put bars on your window, Ronald Weasley." Fred and George, behind Ron, pulled faces at what their mum said. "Come on, Harry, time for a spot of breakfast."
Harry had piled a good amount of food onto his plate just as rapid footsteps bombarded down the stairs of the house, making Harry turn his head. "Mummy, have you seen my jumper?"
It was Ginny, or well, her real name was Ginerva, but it was George who had come up with Ginny since she didn't like her name. "Yes, dear, it was on the cat." Molly answered.
When Ginny came face to-face with Harry, she smiled a little mischievously, but was still in shock that he was there. But Harry simply smiled at the youngest Weasley. "Hello,"
Within seconds, Ginny bombarded up the stairs again, giggling as Harry and Ron gave her confused looks, but Fred and George snickered at Ginny. "y/n!!" They could hear the younger girl call for her older sister, making Fred and Geroge almost burst out laughing right there and then.
"W-what did I do?" Harry asked, confusion flooding his voice whilst taking a bite of his food.
"Ginny. She's been asking about you all summer. It's kind of annoying actually. " Ron said to his raven-haired friend.
Then someone came walking down the stairs of the house once more, but this time not with the same rushed tempo but a rather calm one. And to Harry's delight, the footsteps belonged to the one girl he was just as ecstatic to meet again as he had been with Ron. Her voice was what broke the silence at the table. "Mum! Can you tell Ginny to quit being a little gremlin?" y/n's voice had gone from pitchy to a more even one over the summer, from what Harry could hear.
"Oh, what is she doing now?" Molly asked just as it seemed y/n stepped down from the last step of the stairs.
"She isn't shutting up about...Harry?" y/n cut herself off as she turned the corner and saw Harry sitting on Charlie's chair beside Ron. Now this was strange. Weren't they supposed to meet him on the train?
"Hello." Harry smiled at the girl. She had clearly grown quite a bit over the summer. Even from where he sat, Harry could see she had gotten a bit taller. She wore long pyjama bottoms and a long-sleeved shirt, clearly having just gotten up. Harry didn't know it then, but his cheeks felt so hot because of the fact that he was slightly flustered. But how was a twelve-year-old supposed to know that?
y/n still stood glued to her place by the stairs, squinting at Harry, who furrowed his brows in confusion at her. Her eyes then travelled between the two twins, who seemed to be having a hard time breathing and then over to Ron. She didn't even bother to look over at Percy. She knew he had been sound asleep, judging by how out of it he looked.
Just as she was supposed to ask her brothers, however, it was Arthur Weasley walking through the door that stopped her. "Morning, Weasleys!"
"Morning, dad!" All the Weasley siblings greeted their dad, and Harry chimed in with a lower 'Hello' but still a smile on his face.
Arthur walked up and hugged y/n since she was the only one standing up and then just gently pushed her to go and sit down, which she did. "What a night, nine raids! Nine! "
"Raids?" Harry turned to Ron and y/n who had sat down beside her one-year-younger brother.
"Dad works in the Ministry of Magic, in the misuse of muggle artefacts office." Ron explained it to his friend as Arthur hugged Molly behind them."
"Dad loves muggles, thinks they are fascinating." y/n joined in with a smile, and Harry was slightly confused by the work Mr. Weasley did, but most new things in the wizarding world were confusing.
"Well, now." But Arthur stopped at seeing Harry as he sat down by the table. "And who are you?"
"Oh, sorry, sir. I'm Harry, sir. Harry Potter." He said, which made Arthur's eyes go just a little wide looking at the boy.
"God, Lord, are you really?" Arthur breathed. "Well, Ron and y/n's told us all about you, of course. When did he get here? "
Harry glanced over at y/n who was looking at her mum to hear how he got there. "This morning, your sons flew that enchanted car of yours to Surrey and back last night." Molly told, making both Arthur and y/n look at her with wide eyes.
"Did you really? How'd it go? " Arthur asked bewildered with a smile. To try to explain it, all the boys started talking about it to the man, but Molly made them all shut up when she hit her husband's shoulder.
"I mean, that was very wrong indeed, boys, very wrong of you."
"So that's what you sneaky little gits were doing!" y/n said pointedly at her brothers. Harry smiled to himself as Fred, George, and Ron all looked down a little.
"Well, you looked so peaceful when sleeping," George started.
"Besides, didn't you tell us just yesterday to let you sleep?" Fred asked to make an argument start between the twins and y/n. Harry and Ron shake their heads but still smiling. Arthur then asking Harry about rubber ducks.

Harry let out a deep breath of air as the memory of Tom Riddle was destroyed. In his hand he still held the basilisk's tooth, which was now bloodied along with his hand from stabbing the diary with it. The diary, which had once been intact with a black leather cover, was now completely destroyed by the vicious stabbings Harry had delivered to it.
He sat back, just as y/n's eyes opened. Her pulse had, without Harry's knowing, gone back to a more even one every time he stabbed the diary. Her eyes were wide as she breathed deeply, letting the oxygen enter her lungs and make her more and more stable.
Harry looked over at the girl as she began to sit up slowly, pushing herself up from her back with her arms. She was clearly very disoriented as she looked around to find herself in the Chamber of Secrets, Salazar Slytherin's secret creation.
"y/n?" Harry caught her attention, holding his hurt arm. y/n turned and found Harry sitting there; dirt and grime had stuck to his face and clothes. A few splashes of blood from the basilisk here and there.
"Harry," She breathed, clearly still a bit out of it, but soon started to apologise. "It was me, but I swear, I didn't mean to. Riddle made me. I just found the diary in Ginny's cauldron when we left Flourish and Blotts and... Harry, you're hurt. "
y/n had cut her explanation and apology off at seeing the boys' arm. He quickly covered it. Even though he knew she was a year older, she seemed very confused and scared just there and then. As if she wasn't already one of the smartest of her siblings. "Don't worry. y/n, you need to get yourself out. Follow the Chamber and you'll find Ron."
It was just then that the screech of Fawkes echoed through the chamber, the red phoenix standing out against the dark and gloomy place. Fawkes lands between the two, and he makes his way up to Harry. Seeming to look at him with sad eyes.
"You were brilliant, Fawkes. I just wasn't quick enough." Harry told the Phoenix, through gritted teeth, the pain was still very intense in his arm.
Fawkes took a look at Harry before leaning his head down towards the boy's arm. Tilting his head, tears, shockingly, fell from Fawkes' eyes. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. And with that, the circular wound from the basilisk bite was just a memory that had vanished with smoke. y/n's eyes went wide as she just stared at Harry's arm.
"Of course, Phoenix tears have healing powers. Thanks. " Harry thanked the phoenix. It's alright, y/n. It's over, it's just a memory. "
y/n's shoulders went from tense to relaxed. It was over. But this year, y/n had not been there to help through it all, she had caused it all, a burden that would loom over her for years to comeBut Harry couldn't help but crack the smallest of smile at seeing the girl alive again instead of dead like others pressured her to be. He knew how relieved her siblings and parents would be to see her alive again, and just as she looked up at Harry, he had to look away for a second. His cheeks were slightly warm under her gaze, and he had a boyish smile on his face.
Oh sweet little Harry, he really had no clue what all these feelings meant.
Third year:
The weather had gotten worse during the train ride to Hogwarts. The sky had grown dark and gloomy, with clouds covering the better part of it. Harsh drops of rain thundered against the window of the train. Sliding down the glass as if the drops of water were competing to see who could be the fastest.
Inside the compartment, it was luckily warm. Harry was talking about everything with Sirius Black that Arthur had told him just before they left for the platform. Ron sat with Scabbers and Hermione on the left side of the compartment, all while y/n sat beside Harry on the right one with Crookshanks having crawled up in her lap. By the window on the right side, sat an unknown man to the four. He was sound asleep. He wasn't snoring, but he hadn't moved an inch in response to the four talking.
"Let me get this straight. Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban to come after you?" Ron asked, slightly horrified at the thought.
"Yeah," Harry simply answered.
"But they'll catch Black, won't they? I mean, everyone's looking for him. " Hermione said.
"Sure,"
"Except, no-one's ever broken out of Azkaban before and he is a murderous, raving lunatic." Ron added after his sister attempted to reassure him. y/n gave him a 'really' look as she petted Crookshanks.
"Thanks, Ron." Harry thanked him sarcastically.
The train suddenly started to stop, breakes screeching. The sudden stop made all four tense, and Crookshanks quickly jumped over and curled up beside Hermione. Harry had reached out to steady himself at the stop and happened to lay his hand on top of y/n's. It made her turn her head quickly and just glance at it, making Harry quickly remove his hand.
"Why are we stopping?" Hermione asked with confusion. "We can't be there yet."
When Harry had recovered from his embarrassing move just seconds before, he stood up. He opened the door to the compartment and looked outside to see if he could get any idea of what was wrong. It seemed other students at Hogwarts had the same idea, as Harry could see fellow schoolmates doing just like him. But when the train shook vigorously, it caused the green-eyed boy to get thrown back into his seat inside the compartment as the compartment door closed. y/n squeaked as Harry stumbled back and moved out of his way. Pressed up against the wall of the compartment door.
"What's going on?" Ron looked around.
"Dunno. Maybe we've broken down. " Harry suggested it to the other three, but the lights went out just as he said so. Hermione and Y/N gasped as they looked up at the newly turned off lights.
"Ouch Ron, that was my foot." Hermione huffed at the Weasley boy who had moved to look out the window. Pressing his face against it and trying to just get a glimpse of what it might have been that caused the sudden stop. The light suddenly flickers on again.
"There's something moving out there."
y/n looked towards her brother, and her face held just the slightest bit of fear. Harry turned to her and saw the look. Her brows were pulled into a frown as she bit on her lip whilst looking from the window out into the hallway.
"I think.. someone's coming on board," For a second time, the lights had gone out and the train shook again.
The water on the window slowly started to freeze, frost painting it in various designs as it moved eight over where Ron's had been placed. The water bottle, along with the door window, began to freeze. It went from being warm to cold in a matter of seconds. Their breaths could be seen as they fogged into the air.
Harry began to rub his hands together to try and warm up, glancing at y/n who hugged herself. He reached out and put a hand on the girl's arm as he could still see her worried expression.
"Bloody hell! What's happening? " Ron asked as the train shook once more. All four teens had to reach down and steady themselves.
A tall shadow moved outside the compartment. It was cloaked as they could see something waving in the wind that the shadow had seemingly dragged with it. Moving slowly. All four of them were quiet as the only thing heard inside the compartment was their wavering breaths.
The shadow, or whatever creature it was, stretched out a bony looking hand, and without touching the door, it started to open. y/n, who sat closest to the door, wore a scared face as she moved from it and happened to move just a little too much so that she bumped into Harry. He didn't even bother that, but she moved from sitting shoulder to shoulder but still close to him. A slight fear takes over his mind.
The cloaked creature had fully opened the compartment door and now looked between all four friends. Crookshanks hissed at it as the only thing except it's cloak being seen was a black hole, like a mouth. It breathed deeply though.
The creature turned to the left side of the compartment where Harry, y/n and the man whose last name was Lupin sat. They all looked at it as if something had suddenly happened. It was just a matter of seconds before Harry started to grow pale, the creature moving closer to the boy who lived. y/n turned to Harry and shook his hand to get him out of it, but just as she did, the man beside Harry jumped up and a bright light was emitted from his wand. And then, Harry was out like a light.
When he came again, the train whistled loudly in his ears. The darkness that had consumed him for a few minutes was fading. "Harry? Harry, are you alright?" It was y/n.
He opened his eyes, and they hurt at the bright light from the compartment. He looked around, squinting as the world was a blurry mess for him. But as he looked around, he found his glasses being held out to him.
"Thank you." Harry took them from whoever it was and put them on. Finding it was y/n sitting on the floor in front of Ron and Hermione, smiling a little but still her brows were furrowed. Right by where his head had been, Crookshanks laid and looked up at him as he sat. Hermione, who sat close to Ron, a man who had to be Lupin sat, a calm smile on his face.
"Here eat this, it'll help. It's alright, it's chocolate. " The man held out a piece of chocolate for Harry to take, and he reluctantly took it. Looking weirdly at the man.
All four of them looked at Harry while he sat up and glanced over at the compartment door where the creature had been earlier. Finding it empty and back to normal. "Wha... what was that thing?" He asked, turning to the older man.
"It was a dementor. One of the guards of Azkaban. It's gone now. It was searching the train for Sirius Black. " Mr. Lupin said, staring at his feet. "If you'll excuse me, I need to have a little word with the driver."
y/n moved Crookshanks over to Hermione's lap and sat herself down by the window, right next to Harry. "Eat, you'll feel better." Mr. Lupin said as he left.
Harry nibbled on the piece of chocolate, staring off to the side whilst trying to make sense of it all. "What happened to me?"
"Well, you sort of went ruched. We thought maybe you're having a fit or something. " Ron's voice carried concern for his friends as he spoke.
"And.. and did either of you three, you know, pass out?" Harry looked between the three.
"No. I felt weird though, like I'd never be cheerful again." Ron answered.
"But someone was screaming, a woman." Harry looked at Hermione, then y/n, who both shook their heads.
"No one was screaming, Harry." Hermione answered for both, and he looked out the window to see the rain still pouring down.

The match against Hufflepuff had been going quite well. y/n, Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet had been making loads of goals as chasers during the time they had been playing. Harry had to admit that the three girls were, without doubt, a good trio. Fred and Geroge had been doing their best to keep buldger away from the three girls, along with Harry. At times, the twins would focus on just one of the players to keep them secure from the Gryffindor team. Oliver Wood keeps on doing his thing. Keeping the quaffle away from being scored, though the yellow team had made a few goals.
Even through the wind and rain, Harry had heard Lee Jordan's commentary on the game. For some reason, he had grown a bit jealous of the commentator. Why? Well, it was quite simple. Lee was the only close friend except the Weasley siblings, Harry, and Hermione that y/n was friends with.
What Harry had understood, y/n, had been sticking out when she started at Hogwarts in 1990, the year before he did. The others just froze her out of anything that had caused Fred and Geroge to let her be with them and their friends. Leading to y/n and Lee Jordan being close friends. Maybe it was the whole linking arms thing Harry hated? Or maybe how Lee would just listen to y/n without even looking away, reminding Harry of how he looked at her.
Even now, as he had been racing around the quidditch stadium for the Golden Snitch, Harry couldn't help but feel jealousy bubble inside him when Lee had commented on y/n scoring a goal. He had to shake it off, but only for a split second before resuming his pursuit of the golden little devil. Harry looked down to see y/n having just flown past Fred and Geroge, who had cought up to their sister and was protecting her as she had the quaffle but soon passed it on to Alicia.
A second later, gold flashed before Harry's face, and in a matter of milliseconds, he flew right to where he saw it fly off. Cedric Diggory, captain of the Hufflepuff team and seeker, quickly followed after Harry. When they flew right past Ron and Hermione, Harry could hear Hermione cheering him on.
Harry and Cedric raced for the snitch, going further and further up into the sky. Right now, Harry was grateful to Hermione, who had cast an impervius charm on him and y/n, making it easier for both of them to see in the pouring rain.
A bolt of lightning then hit Cedric's broom as they had reached far up, almost to the clouds. It made the seeker freeze and start to fall down. Harry does not care one bit and continues further up to catch the snitch and win the game. But slowly, his broom began to freeze as an umbrella blew past him. But something more blew past him too. A cloaked thing.
It was not until he looked in front of himself properly that Harry saw the dementor that had flown past him. Quickly ducking it, Harry immediately started flying up, being chased by the dementor as one more joined in and more and more. When he reached a certain height, Harry let out a breath and stopped his broom from going further, letting himself fall down. He fell past a few dementors before diving at full speed with his nimbus. He then had to stop, however, seeing the sight below him.
Hundreds of dark-cloaked dementors flew around below him. Their faces were dark and empty as they looked at him. The rain was still pouring down and drenching him. When he was about to dive again, he just turned his head and came face to-face with one. The dementor made him lose consciousness and fall. The last thing he heard was the woman screaming once more.
"He looks a bit peaky. Doesn't he? " Harry could hear Ron's voice above him.
"Peaky? What do you expect? He fell over a hundred feet. " George told his younger brother.
"Yeah, come on, Ron, let's walk you up the astronomy tower," Fred started.
"See what you look like." Geroge finished just as Harry began to open his eyes.
"Probably a right sight better than he normally does." Harry spoke up and smiled, hearing all the others chuckle. This includes Seamus Finnigan, Neville Longbottom, the twins, Ron, Angelina Johnson, Hermione, and y/n. Or well, Hermione just let out a breath of air.
"How are you feeling?" Hermione's asked as Harry began to sit up and squinted to see as well as he could.
"Really, 'Mione?" y/n had her hands on Hermione's shoulders as she pointed out how foolish that question sounded.
"Oh, brilliantly." Harry remarked sarcastically to Hermione as y/n handed him his glasses. Giving her a shy smile as thanks.
"You gave us a right good scare there, mate." George said seriously, while sitting down beside Harry's bed in the hospital wing.
"What happened?" Now Fred and George would have laughed if they were not around Harry, as he looked over at y/n while asking that.
"Well, you fell off your broom." Ron stupidly tells as if he thinks Harry was a complete idiot.
"Really?" Harry once more spoke with sarcasm, which made y/n have to hold herself from laughing. "I meant the match, who won?"
y/n glanced over at a Hufflepuff student being taken care of, and it seemed that it made Harry catch on as he sighed in annoyance. But Hermione was quick to try and save the day. "Uhm, no one blames you, Harry. The dementors aren't supposed to come inside the grounds. Dumbledore was furious. As soon as he'd saved you, he sent them straight off."
Harry looked off to the side and earned a squeeze on the shoulder by y/n, silently telling him it was fine. He didn't say a word, but if y/n had looked close enough, she would have noticed the red tint that had painted his cheeks at her action.
"There's, uh, something else you should know too, Harry uhm," Harty looked at Ron, who held something wrapped in his arms. "When you fell your broom, it sort of blew into the Whomping Willow and, uh, well, it's uh.."
Harry only sighed harder when Ron showed him his broken broom. He knew that he would have to find another broom for the rest of the season until he could buy himself a new one. It was all so annoying. If Harry hadn't gotten so affected by the dementors, then he would have surely coughed up the snitch and made Gryffindor win. In his head, he cursed himself for being so affected and all.
It was clear to Fred that the boy wasn't in the mood to have people around him, so he began to usher the others away. "Come on guys, enough staring; he's not a muggle TV."
All the others, except y/n, Hermione and Ron, left. The three just stood there and watched as Harry stared up at the ceiling. But y/n who had glanced towards the door of the hospital wing could see no one else but Lee Jordan standing there. He waved at her, and she waved back. Having promised to help Lee and her brothers with a prank on the Ravenclaws later.
She turned back at Harry, who had a blubbering Ron above him, profusely apologising for his broom. y/n shook her head at her brother and patted his shoulder. "Oh, calm down, Ron. Harry knows you couldn't help it. No need to rile yourself up. "
"Exactly." Hermione agreed. "It is the dementors' fault for being inside the grounds in the first place."
"And it was the Whomping Willows' fault for the broom. I swear that tree is absolutely mad. " y/n added, making Harry feel better as Hermione and Ron laughed at her comment. which was, in fact, very true. The Whomping Willow was very strange and just absolutely mad. Not really the safest tree on the school grounds.
"Anyway, don't beat yourself up, Harry." y/n walked to the end of his bed and placed a hand on his leg with a sincere smile. "We'll beat Slytherin in our next match when Malfoy doesn't have a 'broken' arm. I've got to go, but I'll see you three later. "
With a last smile, y/n had walked away from the trio and over to Lee, who had been waiting. Harry's gaze followed her as she walked over to the referee. Something inside him was bubbling, making him look away from y/n, walking off with the older boy.
Maybe that was why she'd never liked him. Harry was a year younger, but he knew that not many girls would choose someone younger. He looked down at his hands. His pale face got painted a crimson colour right across his cheeks. It almost matched his quidditch jumper.
Hermione looked at Harry strangely, then over to where y/n had disappeared. She thought back to how it was as if Harry almost always sought to know what the older girl thought of something or how she was doing. A grin then broke on the bushy-haired girl's face, unable to keep her laugh in as she came to her conclusion.
It made the redhead beside her turn and give her a confused look, then she looked over at the ravenhaired boy, who had no idea what Hermione was laughing at. "What? What got you laughing like a lunatic? " Ron asked, but Hermione didn't answer, a few tears escaping her eyes from laughing.
"Hermione, what?" Harry also asked. This time, Hermione whined her eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm down.
"No, it's just... you know what, it doesn't matter."
Oh boy, oh boy, had Hermione just won the lottery in figuring something out?
Fourth year:
Harry had really been dumb enough to think that his fourth year would be a normal year. He should have understood that this year wouldn't be any calmer than the last three when he had all those nightmares over the summer. Then at the Quidditch World Cup, both the dark mark were cast and the death eaters destroyed the fun. He really should have taken all of that as a sign that this year wouldn't be calm. even when the Triwizard tournament was announced.
But still, here he was. Almost three months into the school year, pacing back and forth in the Champions tent. Waiting for the first task to start. Harry was oblivious to the sympathetic looks he earned from Cedric Diggory and Fleur Delacour of the Beauxbatons Academy. Victor Krum, from Durmstrang Institute, is focused on himself.
How Harry had entered into this was beyond him. However, it appeared that people did not understand that he was not interested in the eternal glory that this tournament would bring. He was already known around the world as the boy who lived. If he just said his last name, everyone knew who he was, which he didn't exactly love.
"You really think I believe you'd want to put your life at risk when a dark wizard is already out for you?"
What she had said, what y/n had said, played over and over in his head. Once more, she showed that she understood him. She was at least intelligent enough to know and notice how much Harry hated the attention he already got for just being himself.
The roar of a dragon made everyone in the Champions' tent look towards where the arena supposedly was. Harry shook his head, and when he met eyes with the Hufflepuff boy, he nodded at him before continuing to pace around.
"Psst!" Harry whipped around at the sound with furrowed brows. "Pssst!"
He walked over towards the back of the tent and listened in. It seemed whoever was there noticed someone else was on the other side, and soon they spoke up. "Harry, is that you?"
"Yeah." He answered, y/n. Her voice calmed him down at least a little. Knowing she trusted him had made it a tad bit easier.
"How are you feeling? Okay?" She didn't get an answer. Only a low sigh. "The key is to concentrate. After that, you just have to—"
"Battle a dragon." Harry stated bluntly, however, when y/n began to scurry around on the other side, it only took her a second before she hugged him. A low whimper left her as she was scared for the boy.
It took him a second to steady himself as y/n had her arms tightly around his neck, hugging him close. But he didn't waste a second in hugging her back, making sure to take the opportunity since they never really hugged like that.
It was the bright flash and click of a camera that made the both of them let go. Both of the teens looked over to where the flash came from, only to find Rita Skeeter. The same journalist who had written the overly exaggerated Harry page in The Daily Prophet. "Young love," The woman sighed dramatically.
"How... stirring." Rita's appearance in the champion tent made all the other champions turn and watch. "If everything goes unfortunately today, you two may even make the front page."
"You have no business here." Viktor Krum appeared behind Rita, an irritated look on his face. "This tent is for champions and friends."
y/n was relieved as she had talked with Viktor on one occasion earlier with Hermione. He happened to not know where the potions class was and asked the two girls for directions. And, maybe, he had been flirting with Hermione then.
"No matter, we've got what we wanted." Another photo of Viktor and Rita disappeared.
Just as Harry turned to ask y/n something, Dumbledore appeared from the back entrance where y/n too had come from. Barty Crouch was behind him. "Good day, champions. Gather 'round please."
Harry moved to stand next to Dumbledore, and y/n, who had no idea of what to do, only grabbed a hold of Harry's wrist. One hand held his sleeve and the other interlocked with his hand. It was hard for the boy to concentrate, but he did his best, holding the Weasley girls' hands gently.
"Now, you've waited, you've wondered, and at last the moment has arrived, a moment only four of you can fully appreciate." y/n looked at Dumbledore as he spoke, still holding onto Harry.
When he was done, however, Dumbledore noticed that something was wrong and looked over at y/n who stood beside him with Harry. The girl looked away from the headmasters, embarrassed. "What are you doing here, Miss Weasley?" Dumbledore curiously asked.
"Oh, um, sorry. I'll just go. " y/n shot a look at Harry as she backed away, relaxing her hold on his hand and quickly sliding out of the tent. causing Harry to look back, slightly perplexed, at the look he received from the older students

Harry watched from afar as The Weird Sisters finished the song, all the students at the Yule Ball cheered and stopped dancing.
Just like everything this year, the Yule Ball has not gone much better for Harry than anything else. Even though he wanted to ask y/n he chickened out and tried to ask other girls, but did the same there. Then when he decided that he needed to ask y/n to the ball, he got to hear from the twins that she already had a date. Which he tried to know who it was but y/n refused to tell him.
So now he's sitting there at the ball. He ended up going with Parvati Patil, who had ditched him for a Durmstrang guy, someone older. And Harry now knew who y/n had gone with. Of course, it was Lee Jordan. When he had walked into the great hall for the champions to dance, the green-eyed boy had spotted y/n with Lee.
Just as The Weird Sisters had stopped playing, Harry could spot y/n who had been dancing all night, giving Lee a hug before making her way out of the sea of students. She was beautiful, and Harry hadn't expected anything else. She had a silk dress like many other girls, but hers was the most beautiful to Harry. Her hair done to suit her and a pair of heels.
"I'm leaving." From beside Harry, Ron grumbled, standing up and downing the last of his drink. "You coming?"
"I'll be a bit longer," Harry said, and Ron just shrugged his shoulders before leaving. Clearly not in the mood to see Hermione happy with Viktor, she danced on and on.
Just as Harry turned back to find y/n he saw her walking towards him. When she knew she had cought his attention she pulled a overdramaticly pained face. It made Harry raise his brows in question and when the girl was close enough she sat down on a chair next to him.
"Ouch." She groaned. "Remind me to never dance in heels again." With that she kicked off her shoes and sighed in relife.
"Can't be that bad." The statement earned Harry a slap on the shoulder. Causing him to chuckle at y/n as she got comfortable beside him.
It then got quiet. Harry thought about what to say or ask next. He cast a gaze over his shoulder to see Lee Jordan chatting with Fred and George. Angelina sat by Fred's side as the four older students chatted away. "So, you and Lee, huh?"
It took y/n off guard as she whipped her head vigorously towards Harry with a scrunched up face. "Lee, no, ew. What makes you think me and him are someone? "
"Sorry. I just thought, you know, you went here with him. " y/n and Harry were both flustered. Harry because of his assumption and y/n of how quickly she had denied liking Lee in that way.
"That's because of Fred and George. I didn't have a date and neither did Lee, so they suggested we go together. " y/n explained. "Now, don't get me wrong, I love Lee. He's a close friend of mine and all. But this all he is to me, a friend. Plus, Lee isn't exactly the kind of guy that goes after his best friend's little sister."
Harry felt completely and utterly dumb. So for the past year and a half, he had gone around thinking that y/n liked Lee and Lee liked her. But, it turned out, he still had a chance.
"Oh, okay."
"Well, don't you sound happy?" y/n joked, shaking his head, a smile spreading across his face. "Anyway, your date left you. Did you screw up that badly or is your charm just not working, Potter? "
"Haha, very funny."
They both laughed, not saying anything more. But y/n sighed, bending down and putting in her heels again, making Harry look at her with suspicion as she smoothed out her dress. Turning to Harry, she held out her hand for him to grab, but only earned an even more confused face from the boy.
"Now I won't accept a no. Come on, let's dance." Knowing full well that she wouldn't accept a no, Harry grabbed her hand and, with a smile on his face, let her pull him along to dance.
"One sickle that he confesses first." Fred challenged his twin as they watched the two from afar.
"Two sickles that she confesses first and before she leaves Hogwarts." Geroge shot back at Fred.
"Okay, two sickles that he confesses first."
"Are you two seriously betting on which of your sister and Harry will confess first?" Angelina questioned. The two brothers shared a look before shrugging.
"Okay, then I want two sickles if she confesses first before she leaves Hogwarts and kisses him at the same time." Lee added.
Angelina frowned and sighed, "Oh my god."
Fifth year:
"Make it a powerful memory, the happiest you can remember. Allow it to fill you up. Keep trying, Seamus!" Harry encouraged as Dumbledore's army were in the room of requirement. Harry was teaching them all to produce a patronus charm, though he warned all of them that not every wizard or witch could produce one, so if they were unable to, they shouldn't beat themselves up about it.
Harty walked around and watched as all the students in the army tried to produce their patronuses. Some stood and thought about what happy memories they had as others went straight to try and cast the charm. It was hard. "A full-bodied patronus is the most difficult to produce, but shield forms can also be equally as useful against a variety of opponents."
Harry explained as he walked around. Gratifying Ginny when she produced a unicorn that ran around in the air. It was hard to teach, though. If Dolores Umbridge hadn't taken over as Defense against Dark Arts teacher, they would all have learnt these things. But the pink-wearing woman had only been placed at Hogwarts as a control mechanism for the Ministry.
Harry continued to wander around and explain as Hermione produced an otter as a patronus. It swam around her, making the bushy-haired girl smile. Then he passed Ron, who produced a dog. It ran around the floor and somehow was able to make Neville fall as it ran straight at his legs.
He then continued to walk around, his eyes almost every other second cast towards y/n who stood and thought. Harry frowned as he watched her just stand there, her wand in hand. But what he didn't know was the memory playing in her head.
"No, Harry. I'll be sick if we continue. " y/n laughed as she leaned against the wall in the Great Hall. Watching Hermione continue to dance with Viktor.
"So you drag me to dance and then won't when we do?" Harry asked as he leaned against the wall beside her.
"Potter, you've been spinning me 'round like a mad-man. Of course I'll grow sick of that. " The Weasley spoke matter-of-factly.
"Well, excuse my poor dancing skills then,"
"Shut up."
They both let out sighs. Looking around. y/n was actually quite sad that Ron had left early, but oh well, his problem, not hers. A great number of students had left for bed during the night, but many still danced. Some of these people were Fleur, Cho Chang, Cedric Diggory, Viktor and Hermione, Fred and George, Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, Seamus, Dean Thomas, and so many more.
Harry looked over at y/n with a smile, still feeling stupid about how he had been thinking y/n liked Lee. His eyes stayed fixated on the girl. She was always able to attract his attention. He knew that in a room full of girls, she would be the only one he'd be looking at.
She turned to say something, but instead caught Harry, who was staring at her. He felt his face heat up, and he looked down at his shoes. It made y/n smile mischievously, turning so she leaned her shoulder against the wall instead of her back. Now fully facing him. "Something the matter, Potter?"
Harry shook his head, looking up from his shoes. But he was caught off guard by y/n moving some of his hair away from his face. It made Harry look at her, a sweet, soft smile plastered on her face. Her e/c eyes were gentle. It made him smile too. A boyish one. A cute one, in y/n's opinion.
"Expecto Patronum," y/n said just as Harry had come over to help her.
A blue, silvery light emitted from her wand as she spoke those two words. The flow of magic made Harry stop and smile as he watched it form into a doe, but something was off about it. The magic animal stood right before the girl, and as he looked closer, Harry could see the faint outline of horns, like it was somewhat becoming a stag. The same as his patronus.
The patronus stag slowly walked around y/n, who wore a smile at the great animal. The horns are still visible. Hermione, who had seen it, walked slowly up to Harry. Her eyes were on the patronus that faded into nothingness when it stopped once more in front of y/n and bowed its head. Hermione tapped Harry's shoulder.
"Harry? Not to be like that, but ehm... doesn't that seem like a stag to you?" Hermione whispered to her friend and earned a look that told her yes.
"And you have the same type of patronus, correct?" Harry nodded, and the look on Hermione's face made him frown.
"What? What's wrong? "
"Oh no, nothing, just... just keep doing your thing." Hermione slid away from her face with a grin like a Cheshire cat. Getting Ginny's attention.
"What is it, Hermione?" The youngest Weasley asked with curiosity.
"I think we can confirm it now." Hermione whispered lowly, which made Ginny gasp.
"Are you sure?" A nod came from the greatest witch of her age.

y/n walked through 12 Grimmauld Place. The summer had come quicker than expected. y/n had been helping her mum and dad clean up all their things so they could return to the burrow. But before she left, she had to find him. She needed to check in on him.
She had been looking through the whole place, making her way from room to room. That was until she had walked up to the third level. Looking through the rooms, she had just passed one with the letters R.A.B on the door. y/n had figured out that each bedroom had the family member's initials on them. Further down the hall, one of the doors was closed. She looked into the open room that was a study room, but it was empty. Looking back at the room with the closed door, y/n found the initials she was looking for. S.O.B. Standing for Sirius Orion Black.
She took a breath and gently knocked on the door. She didn't hear anything from inside, so y/n opened the door a little, glancing inside. Inside the room, y/n found Harry sitting on his godfather's bed. His back against her as he looked out through the window.
"Harry?" Her voice was gentle as she opened the door up a little more, waiting for him to give her a sign to leave. But he didn't. Harry only cast a glance over his shoulder before turning his head back. To y/n, that was Harry's way of telling her it was fine to go inside, which it was.
She closed the door gently behind her. Not wanting her parents, siblings, or anyone else from the Order to hear their conversation. She valued Harry's privacy and whatever he told her didn't need to be told to the whole world.
y/n moved slowly around the bed, so she stood at the foot of it. Not far from where Harry sat. She could see him holding the picture of the original Order of the Phoenix. It had been folded so the side facing his face showed his parents, Lily and James Potter, and beside them stood a younger looking Sirius.
"My family is done packing. We're leaving soon if you want to come with us over the summer. " y/n offered to him, unsure of what to say. But Harry only stayed silent. It made Y/N sigh as she moved to stand more in front of him.
When she did, she got a better look at his face. His eyes were slightly red, and his face pulled into a pained look. She didn't sit down if Harry wanted her to leave. "Harry? I'll leave you alone if you want to. " She waited for any sign that she should stay, but when he gave her none, she started to leave.
It was the tugg on her wrist that made her stop walking away. His grip on her wrist was firm, but his gaze was fixed. It made her kneel down in front of him on the bed and move to hold his hand so she could hold it, but his grip tightened. "Don't leave."
"Harry—" "Don't leave." His gaze finally met hers, a few tears streaming down his cheeks. y/n frowned and moved to wipe away the tears, shaking her head.
"I won't. I'll always be here. "
She stood up, brushing Harry's hair out of his face. He didn't care anymore about trying to stay strong, but instead broke down. Harry wrapped his arms around y/n's midsection, catching her off guard as he pulled her towards him. It took a second before she slowly wrapped her arms around Harry's head gently. Hugging him close. She could feel the slight shaking of his shoulders.
"It's fine, I won't leave." Y/N reminded him as she gently stroked his hair.She pulled away slightly from him, but Harry's arms stayed wrapped around her midsection. She looked down at Harry and pulled his face between her hands.
He didn't have his glasses on; they lay on Sirius's nightstand, so he didn't see her very well. But he could make out her face as she looked down at him. y/n brushed his cheek, then the lightning bolt scar on his forehead before hugging him close. And she stood like that, in front of Harry, who quietly let his tears fall as he hugged the girl close, finding comfort in her presence. At times, she whispered comforting words to him while stroking his head. After some time, y/n had leaned her head down to rest on Harry's.
After some time, you suddenly saw the door open. Harry didn't hear it when it squeaked. As the door opened fully, it revealed Ron, Ginny, Fred, and George standing there. They were all quiet as they looked at the two. Ron mouthed something which made y/n move her hand to show them to be quiet. George motioned that it was time to go, clearly feeling sympathy for the boy around y/n's waist. But y/n only waved for the four to leave and close the door. They were doing as she wanted.
So y/n stayed there with Harry, not caring how much time went by. She just wanted the boy to feel better
Sixth year:
The Gryffindor common room was buzzing with happiness from all of the students. Everyone was happy that the Gryffindor Quidditch team had won against Slytherin in the snowy weather. It is definitely one of Harry's proudest moments at Hogwarts. He was the captain and they had won.
Harry walked back into the common room with Hermione beside him. The girl had finally calmed down from the heartbreak of seeing Ron with Lavender Brown. Harry patted Hermione's back with a small smile, and the witch smiled in appreciation of her friend. "I'm gonna—"
"Go, Harry." Hermione sighed and smiled at the boy. "I already know what you're planning on doing. You've been nervous all day."
He stayed quiet. He thought he had been very good at hiding the fact that he fancied the older Weasley sister. However, he appears to have been unsuccessful. "How did you—?"
"She's over there, by the window." Hermione pointed out to her friend as she made her way over to Ginny and some other girls. Leaving Harry to stand by himself.
Harry turned and found y/n, as Hermione said, by the window. The older girl stood with a bottle of something in her hand, taking small sips at times. The boy took a breath before making his way over.
"Hey," Harry said, as he awkwardly made his way closer to her. y/n turned with a tired and lazy smile on her face to face him.
"Hi," Harry could tell she was tired because she had been studying for her NEWT level exams, which she had a lot of.He had found her sleeping by the table in the common room a few days erlier, having fallen asleep while studying.
"Tired?" He earned a hum in response as y/n took another sip of her bottle. "Let me guess, Fred and George helped you get that in?"
y/n let out a quiet chuckle at him and nodded her head. He was quick to understand what it was. Of course, it was a smaller bottle of beer. "I haven't been drinking much of it though, if that's what you think."
"No, no, just.. asking." Harry moved to stand beside her.
"Poor 'Mione," y/n told as she looked out through the common room. "Ron really is blind."
Harry hummed. Mind elsewhere as he tried to figure out how to do this. He didn't know if now was the best of times, seeing as y/n were exhausted from quidditch and studying. But Harry also knew that if y/n had taken over as Captain for the team this year too, she would be asleep already. Hence why she'd given over the role as Captain to Harry.
"You're not going to celebrate, Captain? Are you just going to stand here with boring old me?" y/n teased, knowing full well that Harry didn't exactly like to be the centre of attention.
When she got no answer, y/n put her bottle of beer in the indent of the window. She turned so she faced the boy who lived. She could see how deep in thought he was and it made her smile. His green emerald eyes were staring off into the distance. So, she did as she'd done two years earlier on the Yule Ball, the day when the tension between them really grew. She brushed some of his rvaenhair out of his face, the scar becoming visible. Harry turned his face towards her, his eyes locking with hers. His cheeks got red from the eye contact, and y/n could feel hers heat up as well.
Harry found his courage, one of those elements Gryffindor students were to have to be placed in the house to even start with. He moved closer to y/n, eyes at times flickering from her eyes to her lips. y/n thought he was going to make a move, but when he didn't, she leaned in and connected their lips. Her hands gently held his face.
It was a quick kiss, one that was so quick that Harry wasn't even able to react before y/n pulled away. She held his face still in her hands, the boy looking at her slightly shocked. She was now unable to keep from telling him, because who knew what would happened with Voldermort back. "I love you, Harry. I have probably ever since my fourth year, but I really like you."
"Really?" Harry breathed with a boyish grin growing on his face, which made y/n smile at him.
"Really,"
Harry did not waste a second as he leaned in and connected their lips once more, smiles on both their faces. y/ns hands were still on the sides of his face as Harry's hands landed on her hips. After all those years of pining after her, he was now kissing her, and she liked him back, and it was brilliant. Her lips were as soft as he'd imagined. She teased faintly of the beer she's been drinking. This was just perfect.

Fire encircled the burrow as Harry sprinted out of it and passed Remus, Tonks, Arthur, and Molly. Both older men called out for him as he ran straight for an opening in the fire, following the evil and psychotic laughter that belonged to Bellatrix Lestrange. The murderer of Sirius. Harry's wand was already in his hand as he rushed after the mad woman. Tonks and Remus followed behind him, but the fire closed the small opening, as if they weren't supposed to leave.
Tonks tried to manipulate the fire with her wand but was not successful in getting a good opening for Remus to run through. Just then, y/n had rushed down the stairs after Harry as they had just talked, pushing past her parents with her wand at the ready. "y/n!" Molly cried after her daughter as she ran straight for the fire and jumped when she had a chance at getting through.
"I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black!" y/n heard Bellatrix chant as she followed Harry through the tall grass. Following both the sound of Bellatrix's chanting and the running of Harry.
She continued running as the grass slapped her in the face at how fast she was running, but she didn't care. It was hard to know exactly where Harry had gone. Once heard herself step in what sounded like water, and she stopped. The legs on her pyjama bottoms were getting soaked.
When she heard the sound of someone moving in the tall grass, she turned around. Trying to spot the person. "Harry?" She asked, the wand still in her hand.
But it wasn't Harry. Instead, out stepped Fenrir Greyback. The most known werewolf in the wizarding world, the same werewolf that bit Remus and turned him. The man smiled evilly at y/n who'd started to back away further into the shallow water. She then jumped slightly as Harry came running up behind her and moved in front of her. "Stupefy!" But Fenrir repelled the spell easily.
"Harry!" Remus could be heard calling out as y/n and Harry cautiously turned in every direction to make sure no one was there. But in seconds, Bellatrix and Fenrir began to shoot spells at the two teenagers mercilessly. Harry and y/n standing back to back and repel each spell.
"y/n!" Arthur called for his daughter.
Finally, Tonks, Arthur, and Remus reached the two and stood protectively around them. Harry grabbed Y/N's arm and pulled her towards him as they stood close to one another. They are waiting for another set of spells, curses, jinxes, and hexes to be sent their way. But no more came as the three evil wizards disappeared into black smoke and flew towards the burrow. Seconds later, the house stood in flames.
"Molly." Arthur said in shock as he turned, seeing his house on fire and began to run.
y/n stood wide-eyed before she began to run after her father. Harry followed her swiftly through the tall grass and when they were close y/n slowed. Her childhood home stood before her in flames as all her other siblings, Fred and George, Ginny and Ron, stood and watched on as the house became ash. Molly was hugged by Arthur as they watched.
Harry came up beside y/n, seeing the troubled look on her face as he brushed his pinky finger against her hand. showing he was there. Without a second thought, y/n grabbed his hand and moved closer to him, holding on to him for dear life.
Everything was to get worse. This was just the beginning, and all of them knew it.
And Harry could feel it.
Seventh year (before going for horcruxses):
"I won't leave my family, Harry." y/n told the boy as he sat on her bed. Having come to her before going to bed. Having just gotten to the burrow that night.
He looked up at her from where he sat, his eyes begging her to go somewhere she could be safe instead of staying with her family. He knew that she'd be threatened as she was a known close friend to Harry, or well, for the past six months, known girlfriend.
"You'll be in danger if you stay here, you and your whole family. I don't want you to get hurt because of me anymore. " Harry argued.
"You can't tell me what to do. You may be Harry Potter and my very caring boyfriend, but I'm still old enough to decide whether I want to fight or flee.
"Darling," Harry sighed at her; she was and had always been stubborn."Please."
"I'll be fine, Harry." y/n sat beside him. "I'll be staying with Fred and George at Weasleys' Wizards Wheezes."
Harry turned and faced her, reaching out and brushing some hair out of her face just like she usually did with him. Then, leaning in and placing his forehead against hers, y/n melted into it. sighing as she held his hand.
"I'll be fine,"
"Don't get my hopes up," Harry told her.
"And I want you to come back alive." Y/N stated solemnly.
