It was a rather nice day. At least in this sector. Actually Guy hadn’t figured out if the weather was actually weather or some simulation and whether or not it was uniform over the entire city or just sector specific—it was on his ‘to find out’ list—but regardless of the mechanism behind it, it was a fine day. A fine day in a strange place. Examining what looked to be job flyer he felt someone’s hand on his shoulder, prompting him to turn around.
Guy blinked in confusion as he came face to face with a complete stranger. The other person looked a bit disappointed which made him smile a tiny bit. ❝Sorry for not being the person you mistook me for,❞ he said good humouredly, ❝I mean, I’d be disappointed to see me too.❞ He hoped his joking demeanour would put the stranger at ease and make him forget any sort of embarrassment he might feel. ❝I’m Guy, by the way. I just, uh, I guess you could say ‘moved’ here.❞ He held out his hand with a grin.
Ren expected the other to simply shrug him off and go about his business, not this sudden enthusiasm. The people weren’t exactly the friendliest around here. He was still quite embarrassed he had mistaken the man for someone else but his warm smile and casual manner put him at ease.
Still, Ren wasn’t all that good at small talk and wasn’t quite sure what to say. Even if it were Sun, he hadn’t exactly thought that far ahead and acted on an impulse approaching the man.
“My apologies, I didn’t mean to disturb you.” He bowed stiffly and fell silent for a few seconds, trying to compose himself and follow up to his reply.
Right, he should probably introduce himself since Guy had given him his name.
“I’m Ren, and I guess you could say the same for me.” He replied with a sheepish smile. “I’m pretty new here myself.”
