˙⋆✮ They say having feelings for your brother's best friend is never a good idea...
But loving Jungkook feels like the easiest thing in the world.
He's been by your side for as long as you can remember, so it's only natural for you to feel devastated when your brother, Dohyun, tells you that Jungkook is about to get married.
For the first time ever, loving him doesn't feel easy at all.

chapter 09 | masterlist
⭒☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆⭒
You’ve been avoiding Jungkook like the plague, and that’s easily one of the hardest things you’ve ever had to endure. Being close to him feels almost unbearable, the distance you’re desperately trying to create keeps dissolving every time you manage to put a few steps between you. No matter where you go or what excuse you find to keep yourself occupied, he always ends up there somehow, existing at the edge of your vision until you can’t pretend not to notice him anymore.
His presence is suffocating in the quietest way imaginable. It doesn’t demand attention, yet it steals yours effortlessly, his eyes never wavering whenever they land on you, never carrying even the slightest hint of hesitation. You spend the entire evening searching for distractions: throwing yourself into conversations, admiring the scenery, focusing on anything that can keep your mind from wandering back to him.
Eventually, everyone decides to have dinner at the hotel’s seaside restaurant, located in a separate building overlooking the water. The short walk there offers the kind of view people usually stop to enjoy. The ocean is stretching endlessly beneath a sky painted with fading shades of gold and blue, the salty breeze is brushing against your skin and the rhythmic sound of waves is breaking gently against the shore. You barely register any of it as you’re too busy rehearsing ways to make it through the night without finding yourself alone with him.
By the time everyone reaches the table, you’ve already made up your mind. Without drawing attention to yourself, you slip into the seat beside Taehyung, hoping the decision speaks for itself before anyone can question it. Thankfully, he doesn’t. He simply glances at you with his usual easygoing expression, completely unaware of the reason behind your choice, or perhaps kind enough not to ask.
The conversation flows naturally throughout dinner, jumping from one topic to another while plates of fresh seafood continue arriving at the table. The flavors are delicate, impossibly fresh, and for a while they almost succeed in pulling your thoughts somewhere else. You laugh when everyone else does, contribute just enough to avoid looking distant, and cling to the smoothness of the evening as though it might carry you safely to the end of it.
You never look at Jungkook. Not once.
The temptation lingers constantly, sitting at the back of your mind like an itch you refuse to scratch, but you know better than to give in. The possibility of meeting his eyes across the table is enough to make your appetite disappear altogether: you keep yours fixed on your plate, on Taehyung whenever he speaks, on the candle flickering between the dishes… anywhere but him.
Still, you know he’s trying to find an opportunity to talk to you. You don’t need to catch him staring to understand it. Every time you move, he somehow ends up nearby, a few steps behind you. He’s always close enough that you’re painfully aware of him without ever needing to turn around. It’s almost as if he’s become your shadow, silently following wherever the evening takes you, waiting for the moment you’ll finally stop running.
You refuse to give him that chance.
By the time dinner comes to an end, you’re already rehearsing your escape. You stand before anyone else has the chance to suggest another drink or a walk along the beach, rubbing at your eyes as you force out a tired smile and admit that you’re exhausted. You even complain that your legs barely have the strength to carry you back to your room, hoping the performance is convincing enough to keep anyone from insisting. It works.
A wave of understanding passes around the table almost immediately. Everyone wishes you goodnight, telling you to get some rest and enjoy the sleep you so obviously need. You return every smile, every farewell, then waste no time. The second you’re free to leave, you head straight back toward the hotel, eager to put walls, doors, and as much distance as possible between yourself and the one person you’ve spent the entire evening pretending not to notice.
Of course, sleep never comes.
You spend the entire night lying awake, staring into the darkness while your thoughts refuse to leave you alone. Every time your eyes begin to close, your mind drags you back to the moment when you and Jungkook were just a single breath apart, replaying everything that happened with cruel precision until you’re wide awake again. Somewhere between the endless hours and the moonlight filtering through the curtains, one thought settles itself so deeply in your chest that it becomes impossible to shake: you haven’t just ruined the vacation you’ve been counting down to for weeks, but you’ve probably ruined Jungkook’s too.
.✦ ݁˖
By the time morning rolls around, exhaustion clings to you like a second skin.
You barely remember agreeing to breakfast this early, but you regret it the second you step into the dining room. The smell of fresh coffee, warm pastries, and toasted bread fills the room, voices already buzzing around the large circular table where everyone has gathered, impossibly awake for this hour.
You, on the other hand, feel as though you’re still trapped somewhere between yesterday and today. Without really thinking, you spread a thin layer of strawberry jam across a slice of toast. Your hand moves on its own while your mind wanders somewhere else entirely, until the knife suddenly stops halfway across the bread.
You don’t even realize you’ve frozen when a gentle pressure lands on your shoulder, pulling you back to reality.
“I hope you’re not planning on killing me with that.”
Sophie’s voice is light, followed by an easy laugh as she nods toward the knife still suspended in your hand. You blink a couple of times before looking down, only now noticing how ridiculous you must’ve looked.
In any other circumstances, you would’ve laughed with her. This morning, the best you can manage is a weak breath that doesn’t quite become a smile.
The lack of sleep is written all over your face, you don’t need a mirror to know that. You can feel it in the heaviness behind your eyes, in the dull ache settled somewhere inside your head, in the way your body seems to be functioning a few seconds behind everyone else’s.
Sophie’s smile falters almost immediately.
“Hey…” she says more quietly this time. “Are you okay? You look kind of pale.”
The question hangs in the air just long enough for the rest of the table to notice. You become aware of the silence before you understand why it feels so heavy. Conversations begin to trail off one after another, replaced by the unmistakable sensation of being watched. When you finally lift your head, several pairs of eyes are already on you, concern replacing the easy smiles that had filled the room only moments earlier.
“Yeah-” Jimin agrees, his brows knitting together as he studies you from across the table. “You disappeared pretty early last night. Are you sure you’re feeling okay?”
The attention is almost unbearable. Instinctively, your gaze slips away in search of somewhere to land. Of course it finds Jungkook.
He’s sitting across the table with his head lowered, his phone resting beside his plate as his thumb moves lazily across the screen. He hasn’t looked up once since the conversation shifted toward you, his expression unreadable from where you’re sitting.
You find yourself wondering if he’s avoiding your eyes or if he’s simply waiting for you to answer.
“Don’t worry, guys-”
The words leave your mouth before you’ve decided how you’re going to finish them. A faint vibration interrupts you. Your eyes drop automatically to the digital watch strapped around your wrist, expecting nothing more than one of the usual notifications. Instead, your breath catches.
Everything around you fades into the background as your pulse surges violently against your ribs.
kook ❤️🩹: Come find me downstairs tonight once everyone’s asleep.
Your breathing falters before you can stop it, your breakfast abandoned in front of you as the meaning of the message settles in. The piece of toast you were holding moments ago has become completely irrelevant, your fingers resting still against the table while your mind struggles to catch up with what you have just read.
You don’t want to look at him.
Every part of you knows that you shouldn’t, that the moment your eyes meet his you’ll lose the fragile control you’ve been holding onto since yesterday. But the pull is stronger than your attempt to resist it, and despite the silent warnings running through your head, your gaze eventually lifts across the table.
Jungkook is already looking at you. There is no surprise written across his face, no trace of hesitation now that you’ve finally caught him. He simply holds your gaze with the same quiet intensity he’s carried since yesterday.
What frightens you most isn’t the fact that he is watching you, but it’s the fact that you have no idea what he’s thinking.
You have known Jungkook for years. Long enough that understanding him has become something almost involuntary- something you never had to consciously learn. You know the way his expression changes when something bothers him, the small habits that appear when he’s uncomfortable, the subtle differences between the smiles he gives when he’s genuinely happy and the ones he wears when he’s trying to hide something. You can tell what kind of mood he’s in by the way he speaks, by the way he moves, by the smallest details most people would never notice. But right now, all of those familiar signs are gone.
The person sitting in front of you is still Jungkook, the same person you’ve spent years knowing better than almost anyone else, yet there is something about him that feels completely out of reach. For the first time, you find yourself unable to read the thoughts behind his eyes, unable to understand whether he is hurt, angry, disappointed, or simply waiting for you to stop running.
“…I’m fine.”
The words escape you before you can stop them, softer than intended. A small smile follows, carefully placed there for everyone watching, but you already know it isn’t convincing.
.✦ ݁˖
Today’s plan consists of a small boat tour around some of the island’s beaches, with a couple of stops planned along the way for anyone interested in spending some time in the water, whether that means snorkeling, swimming, or simply floating beneath the morning sun. As it turns out, your group is the only one that has any interest in leaving this early, which means the ocean is pretty quiet, interrupted only by the gentle sound of the boat cutting through the water as the shoreline gradually disappears behind you. The water is so clear that every now and then you catch glimpses of the seabed beneath the surface, patches of coral and darker rocks coming into view before disappearing again beneath the movement of the waves.
Your attention eventually shifts toward Dohyun, who seems to be enjoying himself more than anyone else on board. He’s been standing near the edge ever since you left the dock, phone held carefully over the side as he records video after video of the crystal-clear water below, leaning just enough to make you wonder whether he’s more likely to capture the perfect shot or accidentally sacrifice his phone to the ocean before the morning is over.
A little further away, the girls have naturally gathered together near the front of the boat, tucked away in their own little corner while they chat among themselves. You suppose it shouldn’t surprise you. Between wives (in Sophie’s case, a soon-to-be wife) there’s bound to be an understanding that comes effortlessly, conversations flowing in ways you probably wouldn’t be able to follow even if you were sitting beside them. Still, a small part of you can’t help feeling disappointed that no one thought to wave you over. No one except Celeste.
She catches you looking from across the deck and immediately lifts a hand in your direction, offering you the same warm smile she always seems to have whenever she’s with you. You don’t hesitate to wave back, grateful for the gesture, before your attention drifts toward Sophie almost without meaning to.
You remember spending hours helping her look for a wedding dress, listening to her overthink every little detail while asking for your opinion more times than you could count, convinced that if anyone knew what Jungkook would like, it was you. Back then she hadn’t seemed bothered by that fact in the slightest, yet ever since that afternoon she hasn’t come to you for advice again. You wonder whether she started thinking about it afterward- whether realizing how well you know him made her uncomfortable in a way she hadn’t expected.
You sigh knowing there’s no point dwelling on a question you could never bring yourself to ask, so you force yourself to let the thought go before it has the chance to make you anxious.
The boat comes to a gradual stop a few minutes later, close enough to the beach that you can make out the white sand beneath the palm trees, though still far enough for the water below to remain deep.
Someone begins passing around snorkeling masks and suddenly everyone is climbing over the side, one after another, without much hesitation. You follow not long after, the cold water wrapping itself around your body the moment you dive in, sharp enough to steal your breath for an instant before the discomfort fades beneath the sight waiting for you below the surface.
The reef is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Sunlight filters through the water in pale golden streaks, illuminating clusters of coral in shades of orange and soft yellow while countless fish weave effortlessly between them, some no larger than the palm of your hand, others bright enough to look fake. You watch as tiny silver fish move together, changing direction all at once before disappearing behind the rocks, unbothered by the people swimming only a few feet above them.
You swim back to the surface to take a deep breath before disappearing underwater again, wanting to get closer to everything around you. The silence feels peaceful, leaving nothing but the slow movement of the current around you as you follow a small group of fish, so distracted by everything unfolding in front of you that you completely lose track of where you’re going.
It isn’t until something solid collides with your back that you realize you’ve been drifting backwards the entire time.
Turning around proves to be far more difficult than you expect, your movements slowed by the water surrounding you, but after a slightly awkward attempt you finally manage to face whoever you’ve just bumped into.
You’re not surprised when you find Jungkook in front of you.
For what seems like an eternity, the two of you simply stare at one another, suspended beneath the surface as if neither of you knows what to do, before his hands find your waist, steadying you long enough to guide you back toward the surface with ease.
You emerge a second later, immediately pushing your mask up onto your forehead while brushing the wet strands of hair away from your face, only to realize that Jungkook has surfaced beside you at almost the exact same moment.
Everyone else is still underwater, leaving the two of you alone above the surface with nothing but the distant sound of the boat rocking gently behind you and the waves breaking softly somewhere closer to the shore.
Your gaze lingers on the silver of his lip ring as it catches the sunlight with every subtle movement he makes. You don’t look away until he finally speaks.
“Careful, sweetheart.”
Your cheeks warm almost instantly. At this point, you’re starting to believe that water is genuinely cursed whenever Jungkook is involved. This also happens to be the first interaction you’ve had since climbing onto him like a koala.
“I know how to swim” you mumble, trying your best to sound unaffected. “but thanks.”
You don’t give him the opportunity to answer. Almost as soon as the words leave your mouth, you turn away and begin swimming back toward the boat, convincing yourself that you’ve explored enough for now. In reality, the reef has become the last thing capable of holding your attention now that Jungkook has managed to find you yet again.
Namjoon’s voice reaches you from behind, calling you back and asking you not to leave the water, but you pretend you don’t hear him. You know he only wants you to have fun, but right now you don’t have the energy for that. So you keep moving, letting his voice fade behind you.
Climbing back onto the boat is harder than you expect. Your hands tighten around the small ladder as you pull yourself up, the wet surface making every movement less steady, and for a second your foot slips beneath you. The sudden loss of balance makes your heart jump, but you manage to recover quickly enough to avoid falling or drawing anyone’s attention. You finally step inside the boat, quietly making your way to one of the seats that sticks out near the side, close to where your friends are still in the water, laughing and enjoying themselves.
You sit down, watching them from a distance while trying to ignore your watering eyes. The sound of their voices and the movement of the waves should be enough to distract you, but your mind keeps returning to the same thing you have been trying not to think about.
Jungkook wants to see you. He wants to talk to you. And you are not ready for that.
The idea of having to face him- of sitting down and hearing whatever he has to say- already makes you feel uneasy, because you have a pretty good idea of what the conversation would be about. There is only one thing that has been left hanging between the two of you, something that neither of you has directly addressed: your feelings for him. After what happened, you know there is no way he doesn’t believe that the person you like is him. From his perspective, the conclusion must seem obvious, and even if you wish things were different you can’t really blame him for thinking that. With the way everything happened and the way you were so ready to kiss him, it would be difficult for him to believe anything else.
The instructor eventually calls everyone back onto the boat, interrupting the fun everyone was having in the water. After stopping at a few more beaches along the way, you all decide it is finally time to head back.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before, it’s beautiful.” Hoseok comments as he takes one of the available seats, still looking around at the view surrounding him.
And of course, because luck has never really been on your side, you somehow end up sitting right beside Jungkook.
You try not to show how uncomfortable you feel, hoping that maybe if you act normal enough, your own nerves will eventually calm down. Jungkook seems completely unaware of the anxiety building inside your head as he adjusts his position, placing the arm closest to you against the small railing beside him and gripping it to keep himself steady once the boat starts moving.
You immediately try to create as much distance as possible, shifting away from him even though you already know there isn’t much space to work with. The seat is too narrow, the space around you too limited, and no matter how much you try to move, there is nowhere for you to escape.
Then the boat suddenly starts moving.
The unexpected speed catches you off guard, and before you have enough time to prepare yourself, the wind created by the movement rushes against you. The force of it pushes your body sideways, making you lose your balance and moving you without your permission.
Before you can stop yourself, you end up against Jungkook. His free arm immediately moves around your waist, catching you before you can fall, and even though the gesture is only meant to keep you safe, it is enough to make your heart race.
You hate how easily he affects you. How a simple touch, something that probably means nothing to him, can completely throw you off balance.
You feel almost weak from how overwhelmed you are, and while you are still trying to recover from the situation- from the fact that you are so close to him again- you make up your mind.
You won’t be seeing him tonight.
Because if being near him for only a few seconds is already enough to make you feel this way, you know you are not ready to talk to him.
.✦ ݁˖
There is a bar by the beach that stays open until late at night, and after dinner, following Jin’s suggestion, that is exactly where everyone decides to go.
Getting ready takes considerably less time than it usually would. You barely glance at yourself in the mirror before slipping into the green dress hanging at the front of your wardrobe, deciding it is good enough without bothering to look for something else. Under different circumstances you probably would have changed your mind at least twice before leaving the room, but tonight you cannot bring yourself to care. The hem keeps brushing against your legs as you walk, occasionally catching the sand beneath your feet whenever the path gets too close to the beach, while the open back leaves your skin exposed to the cooler air that settles over the island after sunset. Every now and then your hand reaches down to dust away the grains clinging stubbornly to the fabric, only for new ones to replace them a few steps later.
“Come on, guys, let’s go get something to drink.”
Dohyun doesn’t wait for anyone to answer before slipping an arm around Celeste’s shoulders, pressing a quick kiss against her temple before they disappear into the growing crowd together.
You find yourself watching them for a second longer than you probably should. It reminds you, rather unwillingly, of the bet you made with Jungkook. Well… at least one thing is certain: you definitely won’t be the one paying for the drinks.
The bar is busier than you expected, filled with tourists and locals alike, their conversations blending together beneath the music drifting from the speakers positioned around the wooden deck. Some people have claimed the tables overlooking the water, others remain standing closer to the counter with colourful cocktails in their hands. It’s the kind of atmosphere you usually enjoy, yet tonight it barely manages to excite you.
By the time you finally decide what to order, everyone else has already collected their drinks and wandered off in different directions.
You thank the bartender before turning around, only to stop almost immediately when you find Taehyung standing a few steps behind you, clearly convinced that approaching in complete silence would somehow be enough to catch you off guard. You notice him before he even gets close. Raising an eyebrow, you turn to face him just as he comes to an abrupt stop, his expression making it painfully obvious that his plan has fallen apart before it even began.
“Oh…” He hesitates, tilting his head as though he is genuinely considering whether there is still a way to fix the situation. “…boo?” A laugh escapes before you can stop it, drawing an exaggerated sigh from him as he finally gives up on the idea of pretending the attempt had been successful. “I almost had you” he insists anyway, taking the first sip of his drink only to miss the straw entirely, something you thankfully manage not to point out.
The smile lingers for a little longer than you expect before fading on its own, and you know Taehyung notices the change almost immediately.
Without really noticing, the two of you fall behind the others, the music becoming quieter with every step until it’s softly humming in the background. The distance is enough that you no longer need to raise your voices to hear each other, and for a while neither of you says much, content to stand side by side. Taehyung is the one who eventually breaks the silence.
“I know something’s bothering you, y/n.”
You already know where this conversation is heading. Taehyung has never hidden the fact that, whenever Jungkook is the reason behind your sour mood, he would rather you tell him than keep everything bottled up. More often than not, you have managed to avoid conversations like this with a quick excuse or a subject change before he could insist, mostly because you never wanted to make your feelings someone else’s problem.
You stay quiet, your fingers tightening slightly around the glass resting in your hand while your eyes wander over the people gathered around the bar, searching for a reason to leave the conversation exactly where it is.When you don’t find one, your gaze returns to Taehyung.
For as long as you’ve known him, he has never given you a reason to question his honesty, and somewhere between all the conversations you’ve shared over the past few months, trusting him became easy.
You reach for his hand before you can talk yourself out of it. “Come with me.”
His eyebrows lift ever so slightly though he doesn’t ask what you mean, he simply follows.
Neither of you notices Jungkook watching from across the bar, his attention drifting away from the people around him the moment he sees you weave through the crowd with Taehyung’s hand still loosely wrapped in yours.
You lead Taehyung away from the crowd, following the shoreline until the music gives way to the sound of the waves, quieter now that you’ve put enough distance between yourselves and the bar. A handful of tables have also been scattered along the beach for anyone wanting a break from the noise, most of them already occupied despite the late hour, though one tucked slightly farther from the others has somehow been left empty. You head toward it without saying a word, setting your drink down before taking the chair facing the ocean, your eyes lingering on the water while you search for a way to begin.
The silence stretches between you, though it never feels uncomfortable. You had convinced yourself that dragging Taehyung away from everyone else would make this easier, that once the two of you were alone the words would come naturally, yet now that the opportunity is sitting right in front of you, they seem determined to remain exactly where they are.
“Tae…” You let out a quiet breath, still watching the waves instead of him. “I messed up. Big time.”
The hint of amusement that had followed him ever since he failed to scare you disappears almost immediately. “What happened?”
Your fingers tighten slightly around the cold glass in front of you, the condensation dampening your fingertips as you slowly turn it against the wooden table.
“Do you remember when Jungkook and I went to the pool?” He nods once, waiting for you to continue without interrupting.
“We were having fun…” A humourless smile flickers across your face before disappearing just as quickly. “I was trying to push him underwater, and I still don’t know how we ended up like that because one second we were just messing around and…” You stop, the memory surfacing so clearly that for an instant it almost feels as though you’re standing in that pool all over again. “…the next thing I knew, I had my legs around his waist.”
Saying it out loud sounds so much worse than replaying it in your own head. You lower your eyes to the table, your thumb tracing the rim of the glass as you struggle to put the rest into words.
“He was so close that I couldn’t think about anything else.” Even now, remembering the way he had been looking at you is enough to make your chest feel heavy. “Neither of us moved. We just… stayed there.” Taehyung remains silent.
He doesn’t rush you, doesn’t fill the pause with questions.
“I was looking at him and-” Your voice falters, forcing you to swallow before trying again. “Tae… I was about to kiss him.” You don’t dare look up.
“I was so caught up in that moment that if that woman hadn’t interrupted us…” The sentence trails off on its own, the ending so painfully obvious that saying it aloud almost feels unnecessary. You force yourself to do it anyway, your voice barely rising above the sound of the waves.
“…I would’ve kissed him.”
You hear him sigh quietly, and it’s clear that the situation is weighing on him too. Taehyung stays silent for a moment, looking deep in thought before he finally speaks again.
“Y/n… you know I love you, and I’ll always be here for you. But you need to learn how to control yourself.” He pauses, letting the words settle between you.
“He’s getting married in a month.” He sighs again, leaning closer to you as his arms are now resting on the table. “I’m telling you this because I care about you, not because I’m trying to do what’s best for Jungkook.”
You know he’s right. You know that, somehow, you’re supposed to move on, and maybe this is the moment when you finally have to try.
But Jungkook has always been someone you could rely on- your soulmate. The thought of disappearing without an explanation or leaving him confused about why you’ve suddenly become so cold toward him feels worse than the pain you’ve been carrying yourself. You would rather keep suffering for the rest of your life than be the reason he’s hurting.
“He wants to talk.” you add quietly, almost afraid of saying the words out loud. Your heart starts racing at the mere thought of it. “Tonight.”
You watch as Taehyung gets up from his chair, his drink completely empty by now. He reaches out, offering you his hand, his expression softer than before. “And you will.”
He steps closer, keeping his hand extended, waiting for you to take it.
“Stop assuming you’re going to lose Jungkook no matter what. You don’t know that. Just be honest with him.”
His words linger in your mind as you slowly reach for his hand. The moment your fingers touch his, he pulls you up from the chair and swiftly wraps his arms around you, holding you in a hug that feels almost overwhelming.
“You can do it. Everything will be alright.” he whispers against your ear, his voice gentle as he pats your head. “It’s time to let go.” You fight against the sudden urge to cry as you hug him back, taking a deep breath and letting the familiar scent of his perfume fill your senses.
You hate how easily your mind compares it to Jungkook’s.
.✦ ݁˖
You’re a coward.
You keep pacing around your hotel room, your hands constantly finding their way into your hair as you try to convince yourself that staying here, away from Jungkook, is the right thing to do.
The night ended almost an hour ago, but your mind is still stuck on the moment when the guys started asking where you and Taehyung had disappeared to, their teasing expressions making it obvious that they had already noticed something was off. It was a harmless question, but then Taehyung, with absolutely no hesitation, decided to answer with “trouble in paradise.”
The joke was funny, you couldn’t even deny that, but at that moment all you wanted was to somehow glue his mouth shut before he could make the situation any more complicated than it already was.
Eventually, you stop walking around and sit down on the edge of the bed, your elbows resting on your knees while you stare at the floor and try to slow down your breathing, although your heart is beating so fast you almost feel dizzy.
The idea of staying in your room for the rest of the night seems like the easiest option. The thought of not having to see Jungkook- not having to sit in front of him while waiting for him to ask questions you’re not ready to answer- brings you a sense of relief that you gladly welcome in.
You reach for your phone and unplug it from the charger before opening your conversation with him, your eyes immediately going to his last message. He hasn’t said anything else since then.
Maybe you should be relieved by that, maybe you should take the silence as an opportunity to avoid the conversation for one more night, but instead you find yourself wondering if he’s waiting for you to say something first, if he’s looking at his phone the same way you are, unsure of what to do next.
Your thumb hovers over his name, the possibility of sending him a message sitting there for a few seconds before you lock your phone again.
No, if Jungkook really wants to talk, he’ll find you.
You throw your phone onto the bed before grabbing a pillow and burying your face into it, letting out a frustrated sound as you try to convince yourself that this is the right decision.
You’re not going to see him tonight. That’s final.
You’re sticking to the plan you made the second he wrapped his arm around you on that boat, even if you can already imagine Taehyung’s reaction when he finds out you ran away again instead of doing as asked.
The next thirty minutes feel impossibly suffocating, every attempt at distracting yourself failing because your mind keeps returning to Jungkook. When you finally pick up your phone again and notice that it’s already three in the morning, you feel your stomach twist at the realization that the night has passed so quickly and yet somehow you’re still exactly where you started. Then, almost immediately after, your phone lights up.
You stare at the notification for a few seconds before sitting up, a quiet panic taking over as you get out of bed and start pacing again, walking from one side of the room to the other while seriously considering whether turning your phone off and throwing it out the window would make the problem disappear.
kook❤️🩹: where r u?
You don’t answer. Even though you know you should, even though the guilt is already starting to build because you have no idea how long he has been waiting or if he has been looking for you, your fingers remain completely still.
After another ten minutes of convincing yourself that he has probably already given up and gone back to his room, you decide to finally try sleeping. You get under the covers, pulling them closer around yourself because the hotel room feels colder during the night, and just when you start to relax enough to close your eyes, a knock echoes through the room. You freeze, your entire body going tense as you suddenly become aware of every single sound you could possibly make.
“Y/n, please open the door.”
His voice reaches you from the other side, and for a few seconds you simply stay there, unable to process the fact that he is actually standing outside your room.
You don’t move, hoping that if you stay completely silent he’ll eventually believe you’re asleep and leave, even though deep down you already know Jungkook has always been too good at reading you to fall for something like that.
“I know you’re awake.”
You close your eyes, realizing that there is no way out anymore. You can’t keep avoiding him forever, especially not when he’s right there, waiting for you to open the door and finally have the conversation you’ve been trying so desperately to run away from. You slowly get out of bed and walk toward the door, pressing your forehead against it as you take a deep breath, trying to gather enough courage before speaking.
“What do you want, Jungkook?”
You hear him try the handle, but the locked door prevents him from opening it.
“Please, sweetheart. Let’s talk.”
And somehow, despite everything you’ve been telling yourself for the past hour, you still end up unlocking the door. Because when it comes to Jungkook, your heart has always been much weaker than your mind.
You open it slowly, and the first thing you notice is him standing there dressed completely in black, wearing only shorts and a shirt, looking calm and composed while you feel like your entire body is about to collapse.
You immediately feel your cheeks warm up and quickly look away, annoyed at yourself for checking him out in this kind of situation. You step aside to let him enter, and he walks into the room before sitting down on the bed.
You stay standing a few feet away, keeping the distance between you because being close to him feels devastating, but when he taps the empty space beside him, silently asking you to sit, you already know you won’t be able to refuse him.
Slowly, you walk over and take the seat beside him, leaving only a small distance between your bodies while trying to convince yourself that you’re feeling completely fine.
Then Jungkook finally speaks.
“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for the past two days.” Your heart skips a beat.
And before you can prepare yourself, before you can find another excuse or another reason to avoid telling the truth, he asks you the only question you wish he wouldn’t ask.
“Are you in love with me, Y/n?”

⊱ ۫ ׅ ✧ ─ The air in the isolated village of Oakland was thick today, masked with a grey fog that had the youngest of children crying in the corners, hands reaching to clutch a wooden barrel.
And hell, you couldn't blame them.
You tried not to let the hard tears slip as you examined yourself in the long, dusty mirror that stood tall in the corner of the towns square. It was expensive, unlike anything you had worn before— every single curve and indent in your skin being lined by the itchy whiteness of the gemstones fabric.
You couldn't tell if it was the dress' tightness or your nerves— but you couldn't breathe.
Your eyes flickered to the line of nine other girls crowding around in a similar yet so different gown. You felt sorry for them— understanding of all their torture— but at the same time, you were being so petty about it all.
You wanted anyone, literally anyone to be picked but you.
You smoothed your hands out over the dress for the nth time this evening, your high-heels clinking across the tile as you joined the circle of similar girls your age crowding around the cold fountain. It was the fountain that sat in the middle of the villages square, and as if a deaths omen— home to so many ravens.
The dark birds squeaked, a terrifying melody as the ten of you were formed in the perfect star that you've seen many girls do for years before this unfortunate day.
You never expected you'd be one of the unlucky women.
Your eyes flickered towards the crowd where you parents stood cowardly. They couldn't even look into your sulking eyes. Just had their heads hanging low, tears streaming, as they clutched their newly designer clothing tighter around their frame.
Oh how you were so naive to ever think your parents had a care for you. Selling you off to the king just to have a grasp around thick clothes that brought them comfort although you spent years sewing their own? How pathetic.
How you thought for the first time ever, that you genuinely wanted to kill such careless souls.
The nine other girls had whispered around you to eachother, a silent plea that had hoped for the skies above to keep everyone safe. To keep such a calm yet useless life they had walking around village with no purpose.
You murmured a few whispers of good luck back, planning to add a few more calmness to your voice but that was quickly evaporated into a choke when the sound of heavy footsteps had silenced every person nearby.
Jeon Jungkook— the man who lived through it all, every collapse, building and death on Oakland entered past the long, narrow gates. Everyone knew to grow silent, to straighten their posture, to not look like they were being ever so fucked for selling innocent girls off to a man like him.
"Last years choosing was unfortunate,"
His voice cut through the tense silence of the fog. A few crows had croaked from nearby, flaring their wings upon hearing the low vibrancy of their supports voice.
"I made a mistake of picking a woman that was so... broken. She bored my brain like all else and kept me with the thought of until the day i'd see my beautiful storm. The perfect woman for me to love and taste, to keep until my heart had stopped beating from such an amazing obsession. Until I can look into her eyes and feel every single fiber in my skin melt into love and cherish... will this year disappoint me? Or will I find my heaven on legs?"
He walked past the gravel, his black shoes that were polished to an almost mirrored shine had reflected the weeping clouds above. He didn't look at the elders or the brainless parents, his eyes were too sharp and focused as he moved closer towards the star shaped by you and the nine other girls.
His presence radiated a cold pressure that made your skin bump and your legs lock. He was taller than any man had the right to be, his shoulders broad enough to kill the weak village sun.
The girl next to you was trembling so hard her teeth clattered. Jungkook stopped to look at her— his eyes an obsidian, void of any warmth— had flickered over her frame.
He hovered there for a moment and you saw his lips curl into nothing but uninterest.
"Empty," he murmured, just about loud enough for only you and the other brides to hear. "You hold no place."
His movements were antagonizingly slow as he viewed the rest of you. He was like a predator looking at his prey, calculating and controlling.
His hand would eventually reach out every couple of girls, feeling a chin or shoulder only to pull away when it hadn't satisfied him enough.
Each dismissal had felt like the air was gonna shatter.
He stopped right ahead of you.
And for the first time ever— you had finally gotten the chance to look at the man who quite literally owned death.
His eyes were painfully dark—soulless although he spent his nights feeding on plenty— had held an intensity in them that made your heart skip a beat.
He smelt exactly like cold rain and the devastating whimper of crushed lilies.
"The girl who wishes for death," he whispered, a dark, dangerous spark igniting in his gaze.
He didn't reach for your chin as he had the others. Instead, he stepped into your space, his chest almost brushing yours in a way that forced you to tilt your head back to keep from breaking eye contact.
Breaking eye contact would be the signing of a death.
"I heard your thoughts," he added. "While the others prayed for safety, you prayed for your parents downfall. You looked at your creators with a hate so pure it tasted like wine."
His thumb dropped down to your neck, pressing against the pulse line. He felt his frantic it was, how your thoughts of this being your last day of safety made it race like never before.
"I want to drown in you, my love."
You felt the air get knocked out of your lungs, tears instantly welling up in your eyes.
This was it.
You had to be dead.
He didn't wait for a response and you didn't expect him to. You knew, everyone knew, he didn't offer a single choice.
His hand gripped your elbow in what felt like an iron grasp.
"The rest of you," he spoke to everyone who stared at the event in a fearful silence. "Return back to your meaningless lives. Act like you hadn't just sold my love off for a quick money."
He bagan to walk, dragging you toward the black carriage that waited like a funeral signing. You stumbled just as hard as your heart did, your delicate heels almost snapping in half.
"Don't be scared, pretty one," his breath hit your ear, sending a line of goosebumps directly down your spine. "I've made an omen to Lucifer that a man who possesses deaths body is never allowed to hurt such a beauty. I would be breaking my own rules, Divine. I'm not someone who does that."
You couldn't bring yourself to answer him.
How could you when you've never felt such a pressured fear be pressed down onto your body before?
How could you when your body had such a great tremor in it that death was laughing at your fear?
One of the serving men had stepped aside to open the heavy door of the carriage, a dark horse just ahead giving a slight neigh upon seeing Jungkook. The man who made you felt like a scared little mouse stepped aside, motioning his hand towards the open door.
"Divine shall enter first," he said calmly, his eyes searching your body in a twisted devotion it had you stumbling on yourself as you entered the tiny space.
He waited until you were fully seated to step aside, his scent completely filling your senses as his body had pressed firm against yours. You gulped, a heavy feeling that hurt your throat, and subsided the tears that threatened to come.
The carriage moved into motion, the horses hooves scraping against the gravel in a rhythm clink.
You were leaving your whole life behind.
You've heard plenty of stories about the unlucky brides who were picked by such an alluring man like him.
You loved your life— you had nice friends, a comfort home, an everyday job of gardening to keep the village functioning, and the dream to one day explore the deep and mystical woods that fell just behind Jungkook's manor.
And now?
Death was lurking behind the corner.
Or in this case— sitting so close to your trembling frame that his side was pressed right up against yours.
His hand reached down to grab yours, fingers faintly curling around your wrist as his other slid a huge diamond ring around your finger.
"A vow, a promise," his thumb brushed over your pulse spot, his head turned to look directly at you. "A telling so the rest of the world knows that my storm is forbidden from touching."
You stared down at your hand, feeling completely paralyzed and numb.
Every dream and positive thought, a wish to have a peaceful life was slowly being crushed by the painful weight of his presence.
"You're mourning," he absorbed as you felt his gaze burn onto your side profile. "You're mourning a life that was never going to be enough for you. You were a wild flower trying to bloom in a pot of dust, my Divine."
"I-I never planned for this to happen," tears fell from your eyes as you forced yourself to not look at him. "I never thought my parents would be the type to do such a thing."
You whimpered as you pulled your hand away from his grasp forcefully.
"I'm not your Divine," you cried even harder. "And i'm not the love you've been looking for. Just suck my soul already, death, for I have nothing else to live for."
"Oh how could a beauty be so wrong?"
You moved your hands towards your dress with a plan to hide it under your weight but the feeling of his hand wrapping around your arm had struck you paralyzed to the bone.
"You're the love I need. You're the love i've craved for. I don't care if you don't want me, I don't care if you want to die— i'll continue to cherish you until the day you give in and fall into my barely even alive heart. Until the day you reach for it and bring it the life that it's been waiting to feel for centuries. Make it able to beat. Make it able to be used. You could take days, months, years, centuries— but i'll stay here— watching my Divine until she feels a way for me back."
-
Days passed and you tried to isolate yourself as much as you possibly could.
During the days, it was easy.
You barely even saw death and when you did, you were able to lock yourself away and pretend like you hadn't even seen him.
The strange part is, he never invaded your privacy.
He acted like he never saw you either.
But you knew so well his eyes would find you. You could feel it in your skin— a sharp, burning sensation that made your chest squeeze with something you couldn't quite name.
But you knew better.
You knew the manor was lined with guards, you knew he looked at you with the same eyes a predator would to a prey... and the glimpses of shadow figures you'd sometimes see in the corner of your vision? It felt like a promise that you soon would walk along with them.
But when nighttime rolled around— that's when it was so hard to not even breathe near the guy.
Upon your first arrival— even if he uncharacteristically worshipped your personal bubble of space— it was ordered that you stayed in his room... slept, read, cry— it was all in his dark suite with him right next your side after midnight.
You dreaded midnight.
You would sit in the edge of your bed, fingers nervously clutching the edge of your nightgown as you heard his heavy footsteps approach the room.
And when he entered, he wouldn't look or speak to you— something you always wished for him to do and he obeyed. He would just strip his outer layer of clothes before joining right beside you in bed.
The first few nights you slept next to him was pretty rough. You hated the silky nightgown his butlers had folded for you although the material brought comfort to your skin. It stopped just short of your middle thigh and you always had a high alert conscious of how it moved when you were around Jungkook.
And, hell, his bed was like no other before.
If you thought the silky gown was a soft comfort then you had to be so wrong. His duvets, a heavy material that you wouldn't wish to imagine where he got it from, seemed to weigh down on your trembly body like a much needed hug from a loved one. It was so heavy, in-fact, that it trapped any scent, feeling, and emotion that happened under his sheets.
Whenever his body lay next to yours at midnight, with yours curled in the tightest ball as far as you could from him— you still feel it... the body warmth radiating from him that made you want to crawl closer.
And even if he didn't touch you, just the proximity felt like maddening hands.
And sometimes, when you had cried too hard whenever your mind remembered how simple your life used to be— his fingers would just barely thread through your hair.
"It's okay to weep," he said one night after you couldn't control your sobs. "But what's not okay is exhausting your body. Sleep, my Divine. It's a necessity. I have nowhere to be for the next eternity, I shall be here when you wake. Always."
You spent hours of the grey days wondering his ridiculously large library or the frost-bitten gardens. Your fingers would gently trail on the petals or leather edges of books like your whole world hadn't just ended for you.
And every morning, he had a chef deliver a self made plate of food you had never tried before.
Like fruits from shimmering gardens, meats with spice so expensive it spun your head, and the soft pastries that melted on your tongue.
You sat alone— with the exception of a nearby maid— and hesitantly chewed down on the food that shimmered under the high chandelier in the dining room.
The table was long enough to sit a whole large family, and yet you sat alone with your frame overpowered by the looming of high ceilings and large ancestor portraits.
Whenever you disliked something, the chef's were strictly forced to cook you something new until it was something you enjoyed.
But the thing was, it was quite hard to enjoy things when everything in your body felt like a great loathing.
Jungkook simply spoiled you and the idea just made you want to scream.
You wished to turn to him, to tell him to stop with the perfection of your treatment— but whenever his presence felt present, he was never seen.
It was like he was trying hard to respect your boundaries by staying far but failed miserably cause he always kept a watch on you.
It was an unsettling feeling that bloomed in your bones but as the days passed, the more you had trained yourself to get used to it.
To not react whenever you felt him although you were in the empty gardens.
Or the quiet library that had passing figures if you squinted too hard.
Or the corner of his bedroom where you would gently play soft notes from a grand piano.
He never demanded anything from you but the way he looked at you with those soulless eyes with the ancient deep hunger— had your body obeying every single gentle request that came from his end.
-
You never believed in ghosts.
You had a clear understanding when it came to them though— declining offers whenever your friends started the Ouija Board, or stood off the sides when kids had idiotically did rituals in the hopes to summon at least something.
It's not like you believed, but you always had a 'Just incase' mentality.
But all of that was until you were captured by death.
Every dark hall you passed, you heard deep whispers that would chill your spine. A flashing movement that made your heart beat, and the movement of your belongings you swore you hadn't touched.
It took you until you felt a cold brush on your shoulder that it wasn't just a dark manor you were living in... it was a graveyard.
It was three in the morning and you went down to the library to get yourself away from the intensity of the sleeping presence next to you.
The candles flickered here and there, the wind howled just outside and it was a perfect setting that had frightened you.
But you stayed put.
You examined the centuries old books with a dim candle, your body relaxed although the scary feeling that had pressed onto your chest. You reached out to grab a book that was bigger than the rest, but at the moment— a nearby candle had flickered out.
You thought maybe you had moved too abruptly.
But not to long after— all of the candles had begun to die out one by one.
Just as darkness had filled the silent room... you heard it. It was a dragging noise, all dark and heavy behind the row of shelves you stood. It felt real, so real it vibrated the floorboards under you.
Your heart hammered against your chest as your fingers had slipped from the book. You froze, clutching your body to reach for a hug you really needed these days.
"J-Jungkook?"
You weren't sure if it was the first time you had said his name.
Your actions had been so fogged up recently that you barely even remembered your days.
It was just a blur of your agony.
You prayed to see his silhouette to walk out from behind the shelves. To see the eyes that made your skin crawl and drive away whatever was lurking in the dark.
But what came instead was a deathly wheeze that pressed right into your ear.
You backed up, your body frantically hitting the shelves behind you with a thud. Many books had fallen but you couldn't bring yourself to even realize when your eyes was locked on the thing looking just not too far ahead of you.
Its body was almost translucent, a man with sulken eyes that younger you would cry over in fear. Its fingers were long and reaching out, looking at you like you were one of its kind.
You tried to move but your legs were grounded to the floor with a sudden weight.
The ghost moved towards you, its swift movements causing your night gown to flutter against your bare skin.
The spirit was mere inches away from your face.
"Get away!" Your arms were able to move but your legs were still being held. You pushed at its chest, only to have your hand get swallowed by the dust of its body.
You felt like a little kid again.
Scared and wishing for a person to hold onto.
"You dare and now you will be banished," the air around you had drastically changed and the low vibrancy that held in his voice had froze the chills in your bones.
You felt... relieved.
Jungkook was suddenly far too close to the scene— being simply manifested like the darkness had sensed the need for his help.
He stood just ahead of you, his broad back and shoulders blocking the nightmare that wheezed ahead of you.
He flicked his wrist and the spirits wheezing had turned into a tormented shriek— the remnant of its presence being quickly sucked into the air.
The candles in the room flared to life all at once, turning the library to look like it was casted in golden hour.
He turned to look at you and the sheer rage in his features had quickly vanished into something more darker. Like possessive relief.
He pulled you into his arms immediately, the sudden reach leaving you with a silent gasp. His hands were roaming everywhere— your back, arms, your face— checking for damage like an animal.
"Did it touch you?" He leaned in to bury his face into the crook of your neck.
His breath was hot and frantic against your skin.
It had your heart fluttering.
"Did that pathetic dead of nothingness touch you, Divine?"
"Jungkook," you gasped, hands flying out to clench the fabric of his tank top into your trembly palms. "I-It was scary. I didn't like tha-"
"I know, I know," he murmured as his hands had reached down to cup under your thighs. You didn't have a second to process his touch until he scooped you up into his arms, wrapping your legs around his waist. "I won't ever make the horrible mistake of letting that happen to you again. Nothing in this house, living or dead, will ever be allowed to breathe around you without my permission again, okay? I would rather die again than have you scared, my love."
He began to walk towards the doors of the library, keeping his grip strong around your thighs as the two of you approached the cold of his room.
He gently set your body down onto the cloudy mattress, the foam sinking under your weight. His hands smoothed down your wonky gown, eyes darkening the more he stared at your body under his touch.
You watched him watch you, your breath coming in shallow hitches. His hands retreated from your thighs but his eyes continued to roam around you in a way it made your skin prickle.
It wasn't a look of affection your old friends in the village described love as.
It was something else.
He moved to sit down on the edge of the bed, his knuckles dangerously close to the soft skin on your leg, it was something you were too exhausted to fight.
"You're still shaking, there's no need to be scared," his hand discreetly started to drag over your thigh again. "I will protect you, always."
His hand rested just short of below your hip, fingers just barely under the silk of your gown. His touch was so warm and pulling, it had swallowed up a hot squeeze in the lower parts of your tummy.
"Jungkook," you breathed his name once again, your silent murmur causing his fingers to slightly curl into your flesh.
"Yes, baby?"
The endless delivery of nicknames towards you always had caused your heart to skip. You always ignored it... but now, looking into his eyes— it was a hard flutter that was hard to resist.
"Thank you for coming to me," it was so hard for you to talk, all of your senses entirely focused on the way his palm had swallowed below your hip. "I was really scared. It... it was like a nightmare."
"You will never have to be scared again," he promised in a rasp, his delivery screaming nothing but a strong vow. "I'll banish those spirits as soon as I can tomorrow, every dead human will be gone. No more of that."
"You promise?" You asked, just now feeling the tremble in your fingers finally begin to slow down from the horrific shock.
"I put my whole life on it, my love."
His hand slowly moved from your skin to shuffle his body against the headboard. He didn't even get you a chance to wonder what he was doing until he pulled you firmly onto his lap.
You were openly straddling him now, the gown bunching between your thighs in a way it made your cheeks flush.
Your hands flew to his chest and now suddenly, you were aware of the hardness of the muscle beneath his chest.
One arm had pushed you flush up against his frame while the other had cupped the back of your head, fingers threading deep in your hair.
The closeness felt suffocating yet so real.
You dropped your forehead to his shoulder.
For once, you were relaxing in the weight of his presence.
"I know this world is too much. I know I am too much. But I am all you have, and I will be everything you need."
He murmured into your hair, his thumb reaching out to smooth over and over again on the softness of your cheek.
He pressed you harder against him, feeling the way your breasts had bunched up against his chest, and kept his gaze trained on the way your eyes seemed to glisten at the sheer proximity.
And for the first time in a while— you let your eyes close with no fear for the man that had stole you from your home.
-
That night seemed to spark something between the two of you.
Midnights had changed from having a huge distance between your bodies to your thighs straddling around his lap.
He'd hold you flush against him, hands always threading through your hair, until you grew tired enough to sleep just up against him.
The more time you spent with your face buried into the skin of his neck— the more you had felt something soft settle into your veins.
The more you wanted to hold onto him.
The more where you had actually seeked out for him during the day.
You'd walk around his manor freely, feeling a weight off your shoulders because the passing of the figures had vanished and didn't dare to return since that night.
You looked past corners and down halls to find his broad shoulders and once you would— your lips would curl into a smile.
"Hi, Jungkook," you'd wave to him shyly.
He always took a note of the way you smiled at him. How your eyes scrunched, your cheeks dyed a soft flush, and how you seemed to discreetly move closer to his body.
"Hey, baby," he'd greet back, fingers threading through your hair before stopping at your neck.
Not choking you, but had held a soft grip around the curve of your throat.
"How is my pain divine breathing today? Are you having fun? Did you eat? I missed feeling your skin under my palms."
You'd chuckle at his words and burry your face into the hardness of his chest.
One night, it took him a while to return to you.
You were wide awake, waiting impatiently to feel the warmth of his body under your straddle. Your fingers traced his duvet, feet moving in a fidget while you kept your eyes trained on his bedroom door.
You didn't realize how much you craved the way his hands felt around you until you felt your throat prickle with thorns.
Finally, the door creaked and you found yourself beaming like a lost puppy finding its owner.
Jungkook walked in, exhaustion swallowing his bones as he did his usual removal of his button up shirt. He looked tired but when his eyes had found you, they were brighter than you had ever seen them.
A feverish glint that showed the end of his patience.
He sank into the edge of the bed, pausing for just a moment to let his eyes trail you waiting impatiently to have his arms wrapped around your body.
"I'm sorry i'm so late, Divine," he rasped as he pulled you flush against his chest.
You immediately cooed under your breath, snuggling yourself closer to his body.
"I had to settle with some villagers..."
You only just hummed, paying no mind in the dark delivery of his words as your fingers reached out to grab ahold of his flexed biceps.
He slowly leaned his head closer to the crook of your neck hesitant— checking the waters to see if you would tense or pull away.
You didn't.
So his lips had found your neck.
You gasped but immediately leaned yourself closer into the friction of his lips.
He trailed kisses upward deliberately, moving from the curve of your collarbone to the sensitive spot beneath your jaw.
Every touch was a slow claim that sent a shockwave of heat through your veins.
Your fingers twisted into his hair, your lips parting in a moan as you hardened your hips against his. Upon hearing your noise, his tongue lapped out— reaching to nibble between his teeth before smoothing out the reddened skin.
"Oh, how you taste exactly how my dreams defined you to be," he said into your skin, his voice vibrating against your sensitive spot. "My sweet girl, I could suffocate in this, y'know? Ask me to and i'd end my century old lifeline to keep you as mine. To be able to feel and taste you until there's no tomorrow."
The way his mouth felt against your glistening neck made your legs tremble from just the sheer velocity of it all.
You whimpered into the air, hips buckling against his and at the moment you felt the hardness of him grow just under your very thin underwear.
Just feeling how huge he was made your mind short circuit into nothing but the feel of Jeon Jungkook. He was thick. Rough. Perfect in a way that had your hips grinding against his in a desperate attempt to pleasure that knot in you that has spent forever begging to feel grasped upon.
"Divine, you're making my head spin," he rasped as the ridge of his cock strained just under his pants and it had your hips rolling over his, chasing the way it felt hardening into the thin of your underwear.
Jungkook's mouth sealed over the pulse point beneath your ear, feeling the way your heart had reacted to his touch.
"It's too good," you muttered to him as your thighs quivered on both sides of his hips, the muscles burning from keeping yourself balanced. Your clit was now soaked and working to drag along the length of him desperately.
"Fuck, you're soaking right through for me," he rasped as one hand gripped your ass to guide your grinding into a slower rythem. "This feels like a dream too real, my Divine. You're making me go crazy. It's so hard to not loose my footing and fuck you right here until you're Mrs Death herself."
"Mmm, Jungkook," your breath hit the side of his face and upon hearing your breathless plea had urged his cock to twitch right under you, growing impossibly harder.
He buckled his hips up, diving his hard bulge into your clit. You were so soaked your fabric had clung to each fold and curve and he took a second to soak in the sight, his eyes having a life in them you've never seen before.
"Oh my beautiful girl, craving for me while looking at me with a doe's eyes," his hands moved your hips harder against just bulge and your eyes rolled back, feeling the way it sent a scorching pleasure down to your stomach. "And when I was staring to think you were a sweet soul. Should I change your nickname? Are you the perfect little slut for your husband?"
"Y-Yes," you gasped, nodding your head as you felt every ounce in your body tighten up into a knot. "M'yours."
"You're mine?" He repeated like he couldn't believe that the words had left your mouth.
Yes, he had thought of the idea of you being his in his head and hell, maybe even aloud plenty of times— but not once did he think you'd be down to accept the fact and say it yourself.
But now, here you were— chasing an orgasm as you grinded yourself against his cock.
"Your girl, your slut... Mrs Death," you panted, your thighs clenching around his as you felt your pussy throb intensely against him.
Pleasure was pooling at your stomach and as you felt that tight knot in your core suddenly begin to slip— you realized just how badly you've craved this man.
"Wanna be yours forever, Jungkook," you continued, using your free hand to cup your breast over your thin gown. "Eternity."
"Fuck, stop your words baby or i'll just come right here," he thrust his hips upward again, leaving you to moan into the air. "Shit..."
"T-That's okay, Jungkook," you replied, eyes rolling back with highness of ecstasy as you peppered kisses onto his cheek. "I can't hold on... much... longer."
"Do it now, Divine. We need our sleep... I need to savor you for a night where I can keep you up and fucked out into the sun rises. Now isn't the time. Now is just the test of eachothers taste."
You nodded breathlessly as you unclenched on knot, pleasure racking through your veins as you trembled against his large body. He groaned into your skin, his own pleasure hooding his eyes but he continued to grind up against you until you were completely slump.
"Good girl," his chest was rising and falling in heaves, his brow sweating as he layed you back, under him, to press kisses onto your face— a grounding through your orgasm. "Look at you, so fucking perfect, huh? Continue that, baby. You're doing so good."
You were in a feeling you had never felt before and with your eyes rolling in the back of your head, Jungkook continued to sweetly nibble at your cheeks until you were calm and catching your breath under him— and just the thought had your heart beating erratically.
"You have the power to steal the world from my hands," he whispered to you as he laid on his side, curling your body right to himself. You fit against him perfectly. "You had a fucking man like me coming from just looking at your face and hearing your voice. You know how special you are?"
You let out soft sound as you curled your body closer to his although space was nonexistent already. The realization of what you had just done— your hips speaking a surrender— sent a new wave of heat over your skin.
But, it didn't feel... wrong.
It felt right.
"You gave me exactly what I needed, baby," he huffed. "And for now on— I will continue to hold you until you're ready."
-
You woke to the sound of the bathtub faucet running.
Cold tiles bit into your skin where your scrunched nightgown had failed to cover but the body you were clinging onto was quick to subside that cold with warmth.
It didn't take you long to realize your body was sat on the edge of the tiled jacuzzi and Jungkook had one arm securing you safely to him while the other tested the waters streaming down below.
You let out a soft noise, one that seemed to curl his fingers around your hips and pressed your cheek against his stomach.
"Hey, my gorgeous. I didn't mean to wake you up from your slumber... I just figured I should get you washed up," he whispered into your hair, hands gently kneading the delicate skin where he covered marks in just the night before. "If that's alright with you."
"Mhm," you nodded, your hair tangling from the friction of your head moving against his taut muscles. "That's fine..."
"Feel the water then, my girl. Hopefully it's good enough for you."
The truth was, you never wanted to unhook your arms from around his waist but you still had forced yourself to. You dipped your fingers into the waters, feeling it lap around your skin, and you let out a satisfied hum.
"It's perfect, Jungkook." You smiled up at him.
His eyes softened— a rare yet vulnerable expression that made your heart ache.
"Perfect," he whispered as his hands reached out to gently remove your clothing away from your body. "Everything about you is, Divine."
When he had fully slipped your gown off of you, a low and guttural groan had echoed from his throat.
"Oh how your body is the best thing my eyes have ever been graced to bless upon," his reached out, his hand cupping your left breast— thumb pressing into the peaked bud. You let out a small whimper. "Not only is your face such a sight, your body too? I'm believed I could come alone by just staring at the way your curves glisten under my lights. How your cunt seems to ache. Pretty lady, sometimes I think you're a dream that feels too real."
Your body arched into his large, calloused hands despite yourself. Sleep still weighted on your eyelids but your mental was already fully awake to chase the way his palms had pressed up against your nipple.
All he did was simple stuff to you and it made you feel crazy.
"I told myself I should wait, but the way your body fits so perfectly against mine and how your eyes are so alluring... it's making that strain ever so hard."
He leaned in to give your earlobe a quick nibble before backing away to look back into your eyes.
"Will you be willing, my love? Would you want to take my cock?"
Before you could answer, he slid one massive hand down from your breast to the softness at the inner parts of your thighs. You reached out to grab ahold of his biceps and absentmindedly hooked your hips closer to his hand.
"Fuck, my girl is already so wet for me," he muttered, still resting the waters by cupping your pussy. "Can you loose yourself in me as much as I loose myself in you? You're not such an innocent bitch you walk around as, huh, with your pretty little cunt begging for my fingers?"
His middle finger parted to trace the slick lapping between your thighs. And you grabbed ahold of his wrist, holding his tatted hand there in place. "D-Don't stop, Jungkook," you hung your head forward against his stomach again. "Feels s'good."
"Whatever my love asks for," he obeyed as he pressed his palm against your clit, causing you to ache harder in a moan. "Look down."
You listen to his words, eyes falling down to his sweatpants where his cock was visibly strained. You watched as it twitched desperately against the fabric as his finger circled your entrance with slowness.
"Just watching your pretty little cunt has me hard, Y/n." He breathed. "Looking at you soaking my fingers while I haven't even pushed inside yet. You want me to stretch you open right here, don't you? Want my thick cock stuffing your greedy beauty until you're dripping down my balls?"
He didn't even wait for an answer next. He quickly stuffed his finger inside of you, knuckle deep, curling against the spongy spot just deep. Upon hearing your noises, he groaned as if he were punched while his thumb did hard circles on your clit.
You looked back down to his bulge, only to widen your eyes when you saw a wet patch of precum soak his sweatpants. You almost reached out to him but he already leaned in, mouth replacing his hand in your breast to flick his tongue over your hardened peak.
You threw out a bundle of curses, back arching harder into the hot of his mouth until it felt pained and sore, his finger continuing to curl that perfect spot inside you until the corners of your vision blurred.
His teeth buried into your nipple, teeth roughly nibbling into your nipple until you cried out for him.
"Those noises, the sweetness... it haunts my dreams," he admitted as his hand started to thrust—slowly—as if a tease or a small gesture to savor your pleasure up into he was fully pounding into you. "Everything about you has me intoxicated, love."
He was muttering nonsense against your flesh, mind too drunken with everything about you as he felt as if his head was spinning. But he was enjoying the way watching you cry out for him made his cock ache. How beautiful your face looked when your brows furrowed together, chasing that pleasure he himself was doing to you.
You tangled your fingers in his hair, tugging hard as a second finger joined the first inside of you. He scissored them into you, stretching you wider.
The burn felt perfect— your walls stretching and clenching around him, that white hot pleasure building up just in your abdomen, and how his hand was angled so his palm had rubbed against your clit as his fingers twisted and hit your g-spot over and over again.
He pulled back from your breast just enough to watch his fingers disappear inside you with strings of slick connecting between the two of you. "Look at that," he mused.
He dropped down to his knees, free hand reaching out to pry your legs apart with a force that had you yelping. You were leaking freely now, feeling the coldness of his bathroom hit your cunt where his fingers continued to move restlessly.
His tongue dragged up your inner thigh, leaving both his groan of satisfaction and a saliva trail over your trembly flesh. He leaned his lips to your heat, nose pressing against your clit as he did a slow lick from where his fingers paced to your throbbing nub and he sucked your cunt inside his mouth, cheeks hallowing with a slurp as you swore everything around you spun. Your fingers twisted harder at his scalp, thighs tightening around his head.
Your hips buckled after feeling his lips, chasing the rhythm as pleasure cooked tighter and tighter in your gut.
"That's it, gorgeous— ride my fucking face," his words were muffled and wet, but deep enough to have you spiraling. "Think about how imma fill you up after, how you're gonna be trembling in my arms."
Every nerve in your body felt to be on the highest level. Everything felt intense and the severity had you hoping and questioning how he would feel deep inside of your body.
"I-I want..." you stuttered, your legs shaking for the sheer velocity of his finger and mouth alone.
He looked up from your cunt, lips swollen and glistening, his chin even coated with your own arousal as his darkened eyes stared back at yours. You felt yourself flesh.
"Yes, Divine?"
"You," you replied back, curling one finger in his hair before smoothing your hands down his face until you were gripping his broad shoulders. "All you... you're cock, your kiss, your love... please. Jungkook, please."
You felt him physically and roughly, shudder against you.
And as if something hard had settled deep inside him, his eyes hardened as he roughly removed his fingers from your folds with a plop. His hands squeezed your hips deep enough to have you whimpering— and airborned you until he walked to his bathroom, laying you on your back and spreading your legs upon for him.
His kneecaps buried into the mattress as he towered over you, fingers fumbling around the hem of his pants until he roughly removed the fabric down his thighs. His cock sprang out, leaking and thick— enough to have your heart skipping a beat deep inside your chest.
He wrapped his palm around the base, eyes scanning in the way you breathed up at him— giving himself a few deep strokes as he cursed under his breath.
"Oh, how I am a ruined man," he pressed the head of his cock against your clenching need and the thickness had everything in you trembling. "I'm about to enter you, baby, please tell me if it's too rough."
You nodded, words hard to reach although your lips were slightly agape. He gave your cheek a kiss before slowly pushing himself inside of you, the hard stretch causing you to scream into his arm while one of his hands smoothed out your hair.
"Look at you," he amused the way you trembled and cried, the stretch of him bulging into your stomach. "Such a good girl, huh? You take my cock perfectly... I knew the stars bounded us to be together."
He leaned down until his lips were mere centimeters away from yours, his breath hit against yours and the new angle having his cock hit somewhere deep inside you.
One hand braced just next to your head and the other reached out to cup your face.
His lips met yours at just that moment, giving a harsh kiss as if he had been waiting centuries to feel the perfect lips like yours... maybe he has, though.
You could feel his smile against your lips and you were beaming too, heart a crazy rhythm as you swallowed his groan.
His tongue slid past your lips, swirling around yours in a way that it made you squeeze around his cock. He sucked your bottom lip between his teeth, giving a nibble before you had applied the same action to him, only just his upper lip.
Your heads tilted in unison as you both continued to seek the most in swallowing eachothers taste. His hand that was in your cunt before had curled around your nape, dragging you impossibly closer to his mouth.
"Brace, my love. I'm gonna fuck you now, have you crying against my lips like my perfect little slut you are," he whispered against your lips before nibbling your bottom lip again. Your hips buckled as he started a slow and deliberate thrust, one that had your legs circling around his hips, heels pressing against his back to push him closer to you.
He drove himself deeper into you with each thrust, the thickness of him dragging inside of you until he bottomed out. The stretch was too much but oh so perfect, something that had your fingernails digging into his skin.
He continued to kiss you passionately while his hips started to slam into yours in a quicker rate, sensing yourself getting used to him. Your cunt was spasming against his cock, the wet sounds in the room almost as loud as your cries and moans of pleasure.
You felt so stretched and strongly claimed, that as he pounded himself into you—ripping his lips from yours— you could hardly breathe.
"My wife... taking me so well," He watched the way the swell of your breasts bounced with every slam, how your throat muscles tightened with every moan once his head hit that deep spot in you. "Such a good, pretty slut for me."
"It's too much," you cried, the feeling of the pleasure coaxing your skin felt like tiny needles poking into you over and over again. Your pussy felt destroyed and you were sure your heart was gonna break from his crazy it was acting. "Jungkook—”
"Want me to slow down, my love?" He rasped and yet still kept his pacing terribly hard. His hands found your hips, punching you harder against him.
And although your mind was screaming at you to answer 'yes' to the man who was slowly ruining you— you only just shook your head. "N-No," you scratched at his back. "Never."
"Perfect answer," he kissed your hand before lifting your body off of the bed, harder into him. Your back was in pain, bending hard to hook your ass harder against his abdomen but nothing in you seemed to care. Just how he felt inside of you was everything your body and mind cared about.
With this new angle, it had his tip hitting in places you didn't even know could be reached in your body. You whimpered into the crook of his neck, clinging to his body desperately as your vision splotched white.
"I n-need to... i'm going to come, Jungkook," you pleaded, your thighs trembling restlessly as he pulled your hair into a makeshift ponytail. He pulled your head back until your eyes welled up in tears and you let his gaze.
"Do it," his chest was heaving, breathing erratically hard while he pressed soft kisses to your temple— a rough contrast to how his cock was treating your inside.
Your toes curled openly, a wave of pure heat crashing through your limbs as you felt the tightness in you snap. Your eyes rolled back with a scream, your whole body trembling in a deep orgasm in his arms as he fucked you through it.
Your slick coated his shaft, a dream that became to reality, and desperate enough that had his thrusts growing sloppy and turning into a violent jolt. His noises were deep and guttural as you felt his arousal spread out into your quivering cunt, coating every wall and flesh with a promise of ownership.
You both fell back into the bed, holding each other as you both chased to regain a stable breathing. "I love you," he repeated over and over again his wet and sloppy kisses had marked your flushed face.
You reached out to grasp his cheeks— fingers still having a small tremor— and the same diamond ring he kept for you pressed gently into his skin.
His eyes flickered for it for just a second before looking back at you.
"Yours forever," you vowed, kissing him then your ring after, then looking back into his eyes. "Mrs Death..."
He let out a breath, almost a chuckle, as he curled your body straight into his. "The bath might be cold now and the sun must rise soon... but for us, the light has no meaning. We have all the time, my divine."
You relaxed into his arms, the movement now naturally and no where near the old resistant.
And as the two of you quietly held eachother with a bath long forgotten— the beautiful yet dark forever had finally begun.

The bass throbbing through your noise-canceling headphones is the only thing keeping your feet moving in a steady rhythm against the black rubber tread of the treadmill. It’s past 11:30 PM. The small, private fitness center located on the ground floor of your luxury apartment block is usually completely dead by this hour, illuminated only by the harsh white glow of overhead LED panels and the amber city lights bleeding through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Sleeping naked together after having sex
