Min Yoongi, a complex human (Part 1)
In a world where fans often forget that there’s a real, multi-faceted person underneath the stage persona, let’s take a few moments to look at one human I’ve found to be particularly interesting.
One thing I really like about Bangtan is how each rapper has a distinct style or specialty and therefore have their own identities, rather than just being Rapper #1, #2, and #3. Namjoon writes beautiful, interesting lyrics, Hoseok’s rap style seems to be more based on how words sound, but Yoongi’s style is my personal favorite. It’s so emotive and expressive of whatever he’s feeling and thinking.
As a rapper rather than an “idol-rapper”:
He’s always working on one or the other. Seriously. Even during Bon Voyage. (I couldn’t find a picture of it, sorry…)
I really love the way he produces music, to be honest. I explained it this way to my little sister: “There’s a certain amount of sound that a space can hold in songs/compositions. Most of the time, people either don’t fill it out properly, or overload it so that your ears are overwhelmed and unable to process everything.” I’ve found most of his work to be a really good balance of sounds and silence, and I really appreciate that. Also, let’s not forget how different the music he produces for BTS, for himself (Agust D), and for other artists (Suran) sound from each other. He has a recognizable style, but it’s flexible and that means he has room to grow. :-)
Yoongi’s not the most enthusiastic about performing and being a “k-pop idol”, but there are times when he seems to be enjoying himself, haha
And then there are times where he absolutely hates it and it’s hilarious hahaha
