Like they're at soles settlement and Hancock and Danse have a tense rivalry to the point Danse tells Hancock he doesn't deserve sole and Hancock threatens to kill him if he touches what's his? Then sole swoops in and tells Danse to more or less fuck off I hope it makes sense by all means change it if u want 🫡
I did try to keep this as vague as possible so that if anyone's reading this with your own Sole OC in mind, you can easily fit them in, hence why I'm keeping it gender neutral! I also chose for the settlement to be Sanctuary, because I figured it was the safest bet, but feel free to mentally change that in your head <3

Protective Hancock and Sole
It hadn't taken Sole long to realise that some of their companions weren't exactly.. compatible. It was the main reason why they'd only travel with one at a time. Sure, travelling with Piper and Nick at the same time wouldn't be a problem, but not everybody was so agreeable with the rest of the companions.
Danse was and had always been a prime example of this, but they supposed a Brotherhood upbringing would do that to anyone. Sole did their best to keep Danse as far from the other companions as possible, without making it too obvious to the paladin. Although, they wondered if he would even care.
It had been going well so far, if they weren't travelling with him, Danse would typically return to the Prydwen or the airport. That was until, after travelling together further North, Sole offered for Danse to stay in Sanctuary, not realising that Hancock had been spending a lot of time there lately, too.
Hancock and Danse had never been close, and even then, that was putting it mildly. Sole had never seen two people at each other's throats so intensely for something that, on Danse's end, did not matter in the slightest. None of their other companions cared what Hancock looked like nor what he was, only Danse.
Sole tried not to involve themselves in it, not wanting to cause strife between themselves and their travelling companions. Thankfully, most of Danse and Hancock's arguing did not last, on the rare occasion they'd be anywhere near each other, and they never had any reason to step in.
It was not easy though, especially considering the fact that Sole absolutely adored Hancock, the last time they'd found themselves so enthralled by someone had been their late spouse. It was often hard to travel with Danse, knowing he thought so lowly of someone that Sole found so incredibly special.
After spending most of the day in Sanctuary, working on building some more watchtowers around the perimeter, Sole decided to retreat to the bar in the settlement. It was one of the first things they'd built there and they still found themselves returning to it when they wanted to remember what life was like before the war and before Vault 111.
However, they seemed to have arrived at the wrong time - or perhaps, the right time - watching as Danse and Hancock got in each other's faces at the end of the bar. Sole rolled their eyes, prepared to go over and tell them to break it up.
That was until they heard Danse speak. He practically spat at Hancock, telling him that he did not deserve Sole, that they were one of the last good things about the Commonwealth and they didn't need Hancock ruining that for them.
Of course, that only set Hancock off, threatening Danse, understandably enraged that his relationship with Sole would be brought into this. He didn't get very far before Sole was in between them, scowling fiercely at Danse.
Sole did not say much, but they did not have to, their expression said more than enough. They were furious at Danse, and partially at themselves, for not thinking about the unnecessary drama that having him here would cause.
"Call for a vertibird." Sole told Danse, their voice almost eerily calm for someone who looked so infuriated, "There is not a chance in hell that you're staying here, I don't even wanna look at you."
Danse knew better than to argue back with that. There was only one other time that he had seen Sole wear an expression of such deep hatred, and it had been when talking about Kellogg. He only turned around, without saying another word, ready to walk away and return back to the Brotherhood.
"Danse." Sole's voice caused Danse to stop in his tracks, but what they said next made him continue to walk away, "Don't let me see you anywhere near him again."
Do you have any headcanons or thoughts about MacCready when he leaves little lamplight? I’m not sure if he’s ever discussed about big town where all the little lamplighters go or not.
I kind of wonder if he was mayor of big town for a bit too.
I did read MacCready's wiki page, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything or completely contradicting canon when writing this. Although, I think canon can be whatever anyone wants it to be, I still religiously play Fallout 4 as my courier, rather than Sole. Honestly, I will never tire of writing for MacCready, I think it might be physically impossible.

Post-Lamplight MacCready Headcanons
MacCready didn't spend much time in Big Town truthfully. He had gone there, expecting to be welcomed with open arms by his older friends from Little Lamplight, but to his dismay, he hardly recognised anyone currently living in the town.
He'd certainly had expectations that, after being such a successful mayor in Little Lamplight, he would find something similar in Big Town, at the very least. However, these expectations were soon shattered, Big Town was a far cry from the home that he had grown up in, the one he now sorely missed.
It was hard to bond with the other kids in Big Town while worrying about when the next Super Mutant attack would be. Either, MacCready would get close to someone, just for them to be taken or killed, or he would be completely disregarded by the others there. It was lonely, no matter what he did.
He certainly did not make it easy on himself either, often demanding that he should be respected, seeing that he was the mayor back in Little Lamplight. Some of the kids would jeer at him or dismiss him, others were simply too terrified to acknowledge him at all, more focused on when the next attack would be.
It was only a few months into being sixteen that MacCready decided to leave Big Town, finally growing fed up of living in fear and simply taking off in the night with just a rifle and some food. He never returned and, in truth, he did what he could not to think about Big Town, the people he'd left behind and the looming threat that they still faced with the Super Mutants.
As we already know, MacCready spent most of his time after this wandering the wastelands, as a gun for fire. He never did find a home for many years after that, knowing nothing would ever be the same as Little Lamplight, wishing he'd appreciated just how easy he'd had it when he'd had the chance.
He adjusted better to a life constantly on the road, more so than he had adjusted to Big Town. By then, he had accepted life for what it was. Although, he had always known what the world outside was like, he just never thought he'd have to face it
More often than not, he wondered if he should return to Lamplight, ask them to let him come back. Sure, he wasn't a child anymore, but he'd kept them safe for years, they'd have to let him back in again. Still, he knew the answer and he never did work up the courage to return anywhere near his former home.

What about somewhat the opposite of what you just wrote, would you be up for writing Sole and Deacon as partners in crime. Charmer in this case, good with their words, lying, and using speech craft to get what they want (bartering, act) I've just recently gotten into Fallout 4 more because I got the game and have high charisma.

Whenever I play Fallout 4, I always go with high Charisma and side with the Railroad, so this is what a lot of my playthroughs end up looking like. (I probably rely on Charisma way too much, because I love the Local Leader perk for settlement building.) It's also no secret that Deacon's in my top five when it comes to Fallout 4 companions - maybe Fallout companions in general.

Deacon and Sole as Partners in Crime
They catch on to how similar they are fairly quickly, after their mission to the Switchboard ends in them lying to Desdemona about how Sole had taken on a thousand Synths to save Deacon from an untimely demise.
Of course, Deacon had been watching Sole for a while prior to this, so after reading their interview with Piper about the 'carnivorous guinea pigs' in Vault 111, he knew they'd be thick as thieves.
Deacon's great at lying, but with the help of Sole, it feels as though the two could lie their way out of any situation - including but not limited to convincing a raider he was turning ghoul to prevent a fight from breaking out, since they had no bullets left.
Surprisingly, having someone just as terrible at being honest as he is helps a lot, it certainly takes away a lot of the guilt of lying to his friends in the Railroad, since it's not just him doing it anymore.
A lot of late night campfires also include Sole and Deacon coming up with the most ludicrous false identities for themselves, which naturally have a backstory to go along with them too.
It's not just the Railroad they seem to irritate with their bold-faced lies either, Cait's threatened to rip their heads off about eight times now, which - considering it's Cait - is probably some kind of record for the least amount of times she's said it to one person.
In a strange way, it does make Deacon feel less lonely, knowing he could lie to Sole a thousand times and they'd still accept him, because they're just as bad.
Still, he isn't sure how he's going to explain the whole Barbara thing to them and be taken seriously.
New Vegas companions reactions after Old World Blues when courier goes “Would you like to meet my brain :D?” I 100% believe it was a missed opportunity for the companions to meet courier’s brain.
Old World Blues is, without a doubt, my favourite DLC for Fallout New Vegas. The first time I played it, I finished it in one day and it felt very fever dreamish. I wish I'd gone into it not knowing what actually happened in the DLC, but I got into New Vegas really late compared to 3 and 4, so I already knew a lot about the game beforehand from social media.

New Vegas Companions Meet Six's Brain
(Includes: Arcade, Boone, Cass, Lily, Raul and Veronica)
Arcade Gannon
He's understandably horrified, as one usually would be when introduced to the talking brain of their friend. In all fairness, he had been insisting for weeks that all of the courier's tales about their time in the Big Mt were fake, so maybe he'd had this coming - not that it makes the sight before him any less jarring. Between this and the courier surviving a bullet to the head, he's starting to doubt that his friend is even human.
Craig Boone
Initially, he seems to be taking everything in quite well, until the courier's brain starts speaking to him, upon which point Boone leaves the room and refuses to come back in. He's seen a lot whilst travelling with the courier, but this is definitely the worst of all for him. He has a headache for about a week after that, it takes another week for him to stop looking at the courier in horror.
Cass
Even with the courier's brain right in front of her, talking to her, she refuses to believe it, insisting that they must be playing some kind of prank on her. There's no way the courier's just galivanting around the Mojave without a brain and there's definitely no way that said brain is simply sat in some pod talking to her. Even after the shock wears off, she'll argue it's not true, as though her life depends on it.
Lily Bowen
Of course, she's extremely concerned about everything the courier said had happened to them in the Big Mt - at least now the scar around their scalp makes sense. Lily does make an effort of trying to talk to the brain, however, as soon as she realises it's not the friendliest, she decides to leave it alone. Given that she was turned into a Nightkin, it's not that far of a stretch for her to believe that a human could survive without a brain.
Raul Tejada
Once he's over the shock of what he's seeing, Raul's actually somewhat amused by the courier's brain. Although, this doesn't last very long. He taps on the glass a little too harshly, earning a few colourful insults from the brain and immediately asks the courier never to bring them back here.
Veronica Santangelo
She finds the whole situation remarkable. Obviously, it isn't ideal for the courier, but the fact that a person can survive without a brain and walk around with little to no difference is incredible. After hearing the brain talk to the courier, she figures it's best to not make conversation with it, but that doesn't mean she won't have a million questions lined up for Six now that she knows their stories about the Big Mt were all true.
Heyo! If it's not too much trouble, could I get the FO4 companions reacting to a Sole who's super good with wild animals? Like the animal friend and wasteland whisperer perks but they're out here cuddling wild molerats and are able to pet Deathclaws. If that's not too much to ask, thank you muchly. Love your stuff!
I don't play around with Animal Friend and Wasteland Whisperer as much as I'd like to. I did once befriend a Deathclaw in Fallout 3, who died about five seconds later. He was great while he lasted though. Anyways, I'm glad you're enjoying the requests, thank you so much! I hope this one lives up to your expectations!

Companions React to an Animal Loving Sole
(Includes: Cait, Codsworth, Curie, Danse, Deacon, Hancock, MacCready, Nick, Piper, Preston and X6-88)
Cait
She'll immediately assume that Sole has some kind of death wish the first time she sees them carelessly approaching a wild Molerat with their hand held out. It's only when Sole doesn't lose a limb to the creature that Cait finds herself somewhat impressed, although, she makes a comment about how they'll probably catch all sorts of diseases from 'that rodent'. She doesn't think too much of it afterwards, that is until she finds Sole coming back into Sanctuary with a Deathclaw in tow, it's at that point that Cait will start to question Sole's sanity. Eventually, she gets used to finding Sole hanging out with Radscorpions, as though they aren't known for killing people without hesitation. She still finds it weird and she still isn't happy about that one time she woke up to a Radroach casually jumping around her head, but it becomes one of those things about Sole that she just accepts.
Codsworth
Having known Sole for as long as he has, Codsworth is no stranger to his old friend's affinity for all different kinds of animals. He can still recall the amount of stray dogs and cats that Sole had brought into their home before the war, despite their spouse worrying that one might jump up at Shaun one day. If anything, Codsworth actually likes that this is something that hasn't changed about Sole - there's a lot of bad in the Wasteland and Codsworth knows better than any of the other companions how much this new world has changed Sole, so he finds it comforting to see some aspects of him are still the same. Of course, Codsworth is still sure to keep his distance from the creatures that Sole befriends; sure, they may like Sole, but who's to say they'll feel the same way about his robot companion?
Curie
She loves having the opportunity to see the creatures of the Commonwealth up close and if Sole's happy to befriend every Mirelurk in sight, then Curie is more than happy to join him. Once Sole gets an animal to settle down, they usually tend to warm up to Curie immediately after - there was an incident with a Radstag kicking her over once, Curie doesn't like to talk about it. She also finds it interesting to see how the different animals in the wasteland have adapted and mutated to their environment and is more than happy to discuss it with Sole, if they're willing to listen.
Paladin Danse
Initially, he thinks that stopping to pet every abomination that they come across is a waste of both their time and he makes this very clear to Sole. He tries to shut down Sole's attempts to befriend these animals as often as he can, although sometimes he can't help but find it quite mesmerising to watch a Deathclaw peacefully wander about right before his eyes. Still, it's only when Sole manages to tame a whole pack of rabid molerats that Danse wonders if their odd love for animals isn't so bad after all, not that he'd ever swallow his pride for long enough to admit that to Sole.
Deacon
He does try to get used to the idea that Sole is going to pet every dangerous, man-eating creature that they come across, but it just freaks him out way too much. The stray mongrels following them around and wanting to play fetch are cute, even he can't deny that, although he'd prefer Dogmeat over them any day, but there's no way he'll ever get used to turning around and seeing a Deathclaw following after them like a big puppy. All Deacon asks is that Sole doesn't take it personal if he leaves them to fend for themselves when it comes to dealing with animals, he'd just prefer not to give a Molerat head scratches if he can help it.
Hancock
Considering Sole chose to take him on their travels, he doesn't find it all that surprising that they'd want to pick up every other ugly stray they come across too. Admittedly, it's probably one of his favourite things about travelling with Sole, he'll never warm up to any of the bugs - Mirelurks are a firm no for him - that somehow become docile in Sole's presence, but he's got a soft spot for the Molerats. He'd love to bring one back home with him, for the sake of having some company and a mascot for Goodneighbor, but he gets the feeling nobody else in town would approve of that, so for now, it stays a simple daydream for him.
MacCready
Once he gets over the shock of a pack of friendly Yaoi Guais swarming him and Sole, he's immediately jealous of this strange talent his friend has and wants to know how they do it. He refuses to take Sole not knowing for an answer and makes it his life goal to befriend at least one animal out in the Wasteland, of course, this ends with a dog bite on his arm and a bruised ego, especially when Sole manages to calm down the dog that had just attacked him. After that, he figures it's best for his own safety if he leaves the animal befriending to Sole, but he does ask for his own pet Deathclaw more times than he can count - not that it'd be very practical to have around Duncan, but a man can dream.
Nick Valentine
There's not a lot left in the Commonwealth that can shock Nick Valentine, he's near enough seen it all and so, although Sole is expecting a much bigger reaction from the synth detective, he just accepts it. Besides, he once came across a girl roaming Boston Commons with a Sentry Bot for a best friend, a Mirelurk Queen isn't exactly that big of a surprise in comparison. That doesn't mean he won't go out of his way to pet any animals that Sole manages to tam on their travels, his favourite was probably the Radroach that Sole taught to roll over.
Piper Wright
She genuinely thinks that she's having some kind of fever dream that first time she sees it, there's no way Sole would actually be sat at their campfire with a Mutant Hound sat on their lap peacefully. After pinching herself a few times and accepting the reality in front of her, Piper doesn't hesitate to dub Sole "The Wasteland Whisperer." If anything, she likes the bonus of not having to worry about fighting off any creatures whilst they're out on their travels, she just wishes that at least someone back in Diamond City would believe her when she told them about her Vault Dweller friend who can tame even the most vicious of creatures; even Nat thinks she's full of it.
Preston Garvey
The first time that Preston saw Sole tame an animal was the Deathclaw back in Concord and for a moment, he was convinced that he was already dead and he just hadn't realised yet. At first, he wasn't sure how to bring it up to Sole to question it and so he decided not to question their odd talent at all, that was until he started travelling with them and they came across a Radroach nest. Preston still can't quite believe that there's someone out there that can befriend any animal they come across no matter what, but he finds it remarkable and he really doesn't mind when Sole brings animals back to Sanctuary. He's actually rather fond of the Yaoi Guai Sole brought back after going to clear out a settlement, he just hopes that they stay friendly, for everyone's sake.

He doesn't see the point in befriending any of the creatures out in the Wasteland, it's far better to simply put them out of their misery after the generations of mutation they've had to endure. He makes this known to Sole immediately, which seems to offend his travelling companion, after that, he decides not to comment on it at all, aside from a few eye rolls and scoffs here and there. Of course, he doesn't complain too much when it comes to having the extra back up of a Deathclaw during a fight with raiders or Super Mutants.

Preston is so underrated, I'm so glad he has some fans out there! I personally don't tend to use him unless I'm running a Minutemen playthrough, but he's severely under appreciated. Poor guy just wants to help the Commonwealth. (Accidentally made him hate me in my last playthrough because I was playing around with Nuka World, sorry Preston </3)

Preston Garvey Headcanons
Although they met in unfortunate circumstances, Sturges, Mama Murphy and the Longs are the closest thing he's ever had to a real family, as he lost his biological family at a young age and doesn't really remember them.
He expected to rise up the ranks of the Minutemen easily, but actually struggled at first and fell behind his peers a little. It did knock his confidence a lot, but he managed to work his way up, it just took him a bit longer.
Deathclaws just creep him out, more so than any other creatures in the Wasteland, the one in Concord didn't help that.
It's more or less canon that he has a lot of guilt regarding the Quincy Massacre, which is a big reason as to why he's hesitant to help out more settlements. He's worried about not being able to save people a second time around.
He bought Sunset Sarsaparilla from a trader from the Mojave once and no other drink has ever compared to it since, he's often considered heading out West just to get another bottle.
Piper managed to convince him to do an interview for the Publick once, about how the Minutemen had changed since Sole had taken over as the General. It was inevitably scrapped as he stumbled over his words so many times, there wasn't anything coherent that Piper could write about.
Despite most of the Minutemen he used to know being gone, he managed to track down some of the remnants and makes an effort to see them as often as he can. It's somewhat therapeutic to be able to recount old stories with them.

New Vegas Companions React to a Courier with Chronic Migraines

Arcade Gannon
We already know he's gonna be giving the courier a lecture on the effects of chem addiction, that goes without saying. He's been in Freeside long enough to see how addiction has affected others around him and he's actually grown to like the courier, so there's no way he's going to watch the same thing happen to them. He knows he can't stop the migraines altogether, but he's willing to be patient with the courier when they do come around and make sure his friend gets the best care possible. He'll likely suggest that the courier lets the Followers try and treat them, since that's probably the best medical care they could get, but if they don't want to go with that option, he won't push.
Craig Boone
While his own issues with head pain are nothing compared to the courier's, Boone's suffered from his fair share of stress migraines, with everything that's happened in the past few years. He can sympathise better than the courier may expect and surprisingly enough, he's actually very understanding if Six needs more time to rest up or can't do something on a day where their migraines are worse than usual. He knows the pain and the idea of having to deal with that consistently is a terrifying thought to him, so he can't begin to imagine how the courier managed to keep it together for so long. Boon knows his presence alone can't stop the migraines, but he hopes that it's at least a comfort for the courier.
Cass
Any headaches she's suffered from have always been cured by a bottle of whiskey to knock her out for the night, which is the first thing she suggests to Six. Although, when they explain that it's not just your average headache and not even chems are helping anymore, she realises it might take more than alcohol to ease the courier's pain. She finds it quit frustrating at first, when she wants to get back on the road and the courier can hardly lift their head off the ground, but she'd never voice her irritation - it's not like Six can help it. Over time, she becomes more understanding and used to the idea that some days, it's easier on the courier to take a break and try to rest up, she doesn't have the best bedside manner, but she tries to do what she can and it's the thought that counts.

HI!! Yeah, it's about time I brought this blog back from the dead lmao, I've been meaning to get around to it for a while now, so this is long overdue. As for this request, I love Deacon so much (I think I just have a soft spot for silly guys w sunglasses tbh???? Because I also love Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat) Deacon deserves way more love though, I don't think I ever would've romanced him personally, but I do wish the option was there for the Deacon lovers.

Deacon with a 'Gullible' Sole
Deacon doesn't question it initially, most people tend to fall for his lies, apart from the likes of his fellow Railroad agents, who are more than used to his antics.
Besides, saying he's a synth isn't exactly something that Sole can disprove, unless they plan on killing him to find out, which doesn't sound like an ideal outcome, if you ask him.
But when Sole seems to believe his claim that he's the real leader of the Railroad, no questions asked, he starts to wonder if he's just a good liar or if Sole is somewhat naïve.
He decides to test out his theory, seeing how bold his lies can be until Sole stops falling for them.
At first, he starts small. "Hey, did you know I once beat a Super Mutant to death with a box of Sugar Bombs?"
They eventually get more outlandish, until he's effortlessly convincing Sole that Carrington is a Brahmin, who became sentient and has a really good surgeon.
He has more fun than he expects to, telling the most ridiculous lies he can think of, coming up with intricate stories behind them, more to entertain himself than anything.
Eventually he starts to feel a little guilty about all the lying, surely, this is just bullying at this point, especially when Sole believes him wholeheartedly every single time.
So, he decides to come clean... Well, Glory insists he comes clean, by threatening to put a dead bloatfly in his bed.
Much to his surprise, when he tells Sole the truth, they simply nod and tell him that they've known all along.
He hadn't planned for this outcome, and it starts to make him question the whole situation. Who'd been fooling who?
Sole explains that they'd known he was lying after taking a look at the 'recall code' he'd given them and after that, they'd just enjoyed seeing how creative his lies could get.
Admittedly, Deacon can't help but be impressed that, for once in his life, he's the one being tricked.
But he will make a point to dramatically sulk about it for a few days, his pride is a little hurt after all.
