Hermitcraft Dispatch AU Pt. 1

Ok so I just finished playing Dispatch and I freaking LOVED it! Sooooo I thought it would be fun to combine my two current hyperfixations and make a Hermitcraft Dispatch AU!

Quick overview for those who have never played Dispatch:

In this AU Impulse works as a superhero dispatcher, someone who analyzes a team’s strengths and weaknesses and answers distress calls by the sending the hero most suited to the job. However, he’s been assigned to the Hermit Program, a team of former villains trying to become heroes. To say the least, it’s like trying to herd cats and the office and comm lines are always in chaos when the Hermits show up to work.

grian was showing up to the shopping district every day zonked off his gourd on magic mycelium. goes into the barge and checks that mumbo's seroquel is still locked in his secret cabinet (he has been hiding it from him because the paranoia is making him "more determined to win"). shouts at a public hep worker doing their job. visits his 30 foot tall square of a son and feels nothing. sees his ex thang scar strutting his shit round the town hall while bdubs follows him actually visibly sweating with the amount of restraint he's exhibiting in not dropping to his knees and sucking him sloppy style on the diamond throne. goes back to his house with no back wall. rinse and repeat until he loses and has to take his square son out like old yeller

One of the many reasons I loved the dream SMP was 1) because it was comprised mainly of pvpers and speedrunners, with hardly any building or redstone specialists, and 2) entering the End was forbidden and the End never factored into the SMP at any point. It led to a lack of resources and infrastructure that gave the server a medieval feeling to it. Players who accumulated a lot of resources usually did so through solo grinding. No one could make communal resource farms because they'd all be at risk of becoming pieces in the geopolitical war games, and/or being destroyed (I think the only piece of communal infrastructure that survived unscathed was the underground spider farm near the Eggpire). People didn't have elytra, and roads were constantly being destroyed, so the primary method of rapid transportation was Riptide tridents, which as far as I'm aware is pretty unique to the Dream SMP and showcases the really awesome and interesting alternatives that can develop in a no-End lategame. God the dog-eat-dog worlds that a bunch of bored men create are hell to live in and absolutely marvellous to tell stories in. The SMPs with End access and reliable resource reserves and infrastructure just can't compare.
