Sorta spoilers for like, seasons 15-finale of RvB
I'm reading and re-reading and RE-READING the scrapped Red vs. Blue seasons 17 and 18 concepts.
Fuck they're cool, it would've been so gay 🙏 and had supportive friendships and stories about deepening connection and learning to respect your friends and it looks so heartwarming
Wash's injury would've been taken seriously (I'm glaring at you, Zero) everybody would've been present for Sarge's death
Grif x Simmons was gonna have an arc
Sarge would've come out as bi
Wash would have an arc about healing from his injury and learning to adapt to a new life being disabled
Carolina got a fucking break
Doc had actual really cool plot relevant THINGS TO DO
I do have like,,, some things I'm side eye-ing though but it's hard to make judgments when these are all just ideas and not whole scripts (except for episodes 1 and 2 of scrapped season 17)
Like, Sarge still dies a heroic death (im fairly certain), and if it's anything like the true finale, I would have absolutely loved the writing for it, but yknow... character comes out as queer and then dies shortly thereafter 😬 yeah..
Also from the scraps of dialog, it looks like they were writing asexual Donut as a guy who doesn't date at all and isn't interested in romancing anyone which as we all know, asexual doesn't work that way. aSEXual means no sex attraction so they'd either write AroAce Donut or clarify that he doesn't fuck
But yknow, I just wanna appreciate the massive swing that Jason Weight was trying to take with these seasons. Taking very beloved and cherished characters that have been around for nearly 20+ years and giving them the "Oops, All Queer" treatment mightve caused ripples in some circles but man he went for it and I respect the hell out of him for it.
I'm planning on storyboarding some of the dialog that I like as a "what could've been" just-for-fun project
