In (belated) celebration of my favorite fictional lawyer losing his job, I decided to rebuy the Apollo justice trilogy, since it was 50% off on PS5 shop. (I bought the game on Steam, but then my laptop fucking died before I got to finish it)

Better solutions than age verification BS

Teaching children/teens basic internet safety rules such as not giving out personal information (name, age, etc.) and internet stranger danger

Informing parents/guardians about the existence of the YouTube Kids app before they hand the unfiltered iPad to a kid to watch

Informing about YouTube Teen Accounts

More online teen spaces such as MMOs, pet sites, and RP forums with site rules to keep things appropriate

Emphasis of report and block buttons if something said in said spaces makes someone uncomfortable and/or breaks site rules

Game support forums not being locked to Discord servers and easily accessible to the entire userbase

Parental blocks that restrict downloading dedicated "adult community" apps

In mixed age online spaces, adults being less hesitant about using built in content filters such as tags and mature content labels

Parents/guardians understanding age ratings on items such as movies and video games, especially R and M

Parents, guardians, and trusted adults (ex. teachers, librarians) being available to listen and discuss when a topic is confusing (and not immediately get mad and complain about the material)

Better access to youth library materials (ex. young adult)

More/better offline teen spaces and access to hobbies without too much unnecessary expense

To summarize it overall:

App acts like a browser but paywalls offline reading while reviews state it’s full of intrusive ads and lacks basic functionality such as commenting. Do not use this app. Use the ao3 website. The app uses Gen-AI content for imagery on categories and is essentially forcing people to pay if they want to read your fics offline.

By the way you don’t have to pay anything to read fics offline. You can do it for free using easily accessible resources that don’t cost anything.

You do not need to pay $1 every week, $2 every month, or even $18 a year. It can be done free! By anyone!

You can also turn ao3 into an app itself by adding it to your Home Screen. You don’t need to download shady apps.

Does this not highlight his mentality? After engaging in this behaviour with Ren, he only then thought to ask him about his age. This is unacceptable. Doesn't matter that Ren was an adult anyway, this is STILL unacceptable behaviour.

Do not fucking follow me if you support Zeal, Zerum, Kat, or any other guilty parties.

They covered for a RAPE and insinuated that Ren, the VICTIM, was responsible. It isn't just Zeal. It is Zerum. It is Kat. It's all the people who turned a blind eye to sexual abuse. Do you see how genuinely disgusting that is?

Genuinely the worst update ever I hope they get sued again

Imagine being related to one of the higher-ups and watching them completely wash your inheritance down the drain all because they want to add online dating to a kids game fml

Just a fun reminder: ToS has been completely thrown out in court by a judge before, so theoretically it is possible to do again.

Adding onto this, why the hell did they not just… release the update in waves?

It would’ve given them more time to find actual people to make the dynamic faces, (they literally have hundreds of UGC creators/groups that probably would have LOVED an opportunity to work on official Roblox content, and still decided to use a robot that can’t even identify what each line on a face is meant to represent.)

Not to mention how much easier bug fixing would’ve been, instead of having to fix EVERY SINGLE FACE in basically one sitting, they could’ve focused on 30-50ish, taking in community feedback, common bugs/mistakes, and then applying that knowledge onto the next batch, and rinse and repeat until you have basically seamless updates.

They literally saw the outrage when it was announced… why did they think sending out a half-baked update would make that outrage magically disappear?

I personally didn’t mind the switch when it was announced, as I assumed the faces were going to be as close to 1:1 as possible.

Honestly, I think it could be a good change, but this is not what they announced would happen, and they 100% need to take accountability if they hope to win any reputation back.
