How has your journey to Reiki improved and impacted your life? Looking back on my life I can see all the stepping stones and curve balls life have thrown at me to lead me to 1. Study Reiki and 2. wanting to practice it and incorporate it into my life. Reiki has helped me see the bigger picture, become more positive, connected and to trust and believe in the universe wholy that it has our best interest at heart and if we are not on the right path it will keep redirecting us until we are. For once I truly feel I am….! Many published scientific studies have found Reiki to be beneficial for the treatment of depression & anxiety. In one study of Reiki & depression, patients were given Reiki for 6 weeks for an hour to an hour & a half each time. In this study, there was a control group that did not receive Reiki treatments at all. The patients that received Reiki had a significant improvement in depression & stress symptoms as compared to the control group, which had almost no change at all. A year later, the study participants reported continued relief. Other studies measured the effects of Reiki on anxiety & found very similar results to those in the depression study. Another study included patients with a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder & found that the participants found great relief of symptoms. There are studies that examine the effect of various complementary & alternative therapies on schizophrenia. These studies looked at the general effect of meditation, yoga, massage & other therapies like Reiki, according to which a participant chose to use. The effects of these types of therapies (including Reiki) were that the patients saw a big improvement in their level of coping & sense of well being. In an interesting real world example, a group of mental health patients met with a Reiki master & several practitioners to receive Reiki once a week. They had all been recently released from hospital treatment & participated in a daily routine of outpatient groups. The patients had diagnoses of severe depression, schizophrenia, drug & alcohol addiction & other mental disorders. The Reiki master that led the group said that many times the third eye & throat chakras were incredibly open while the heart chakra was generally closed. She saw a lot of improvement in the patients she treated & many asked to be attuned to Reiki so they could continue to help themselves. Many studies have been done that demonstrate that Reiki regulates the pulse rate, blood pressure & immune system. This shows that Reiki produces a tremendous level of peace, calm & relaxation, which can only help those with mental health problems. A bit about Ryan At the end of 2017, Ryan Nell left a career in advertising to found Levitate Meditation - a modern drop-in meditation studio and workplace mindfulness training company. Before training to teach meditation, Ryan worked at some of the world's top advertising agencies, where he learnt his trade managing marketing campaigns for everything from chocolate to cars. Your ‘vibration’ is a way of describing your overall state of being. Everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Even things that look solid are made up of vibrational energy fields at the quantum level. This includes you. All vibrations operate at high & low frequencies, within us & around us. If your vibration is low it will be evident; it's simply a matter of bringing awareness to your situation & then working on rectifying it. Perhaps money no longer flows, your health is poor or you feel surrounded by negative people. When your vibration is high however, this is that beautiful sense of living in the flow. Here you may be inviting inspiring people into life, jumping out of bed each day full of optimism, things may be progressing particularly well in business too. Here are some ways you can raise your vibration: Become conscious of your thoughts. Everything you think, say or feel becomes your reality. When you change those thoughts for the positive, your reality is likely to become positive too. Find something beautiful and appreciate it. Stop rushing for a moment & take the time to appreciate your surroundings. Be conscious of the foods you eat. Some foods vibrate at high frequencies, & some lower If you are consuming foods covered in chemicals & pesticides, or foods found within plastic packaging, it will leave you vibrating lower.
