Can’t articulate how much I love this episode, this program means so much to me. Just because I don't really post anymore doesn't mean this program hasn't changed me, or that 6.2 along with others in particular hasn't hugely effected me or that they won't continue to drift around in my mind. It just means that I don't need to talk about it here anymore.

Hi there! Just though I'd add while I'd also like a Patsy-Delia kiss for gay representation, I also understand why it has not been included. Tom and Barbara were shown as physically intimate to highlight the fact the pill was becoming available at the time the show is set and there was concern about the effect it would have on sexual morality/behaviour. Barbara herself says that while she doesn't believe in sex before marriage she understood how young people could reach that point, as she (1/2)

and Tom had an overwhelming attraction, as we all saw. But heterosexual affection was acceptable. Patsy and Delia faced a different problem- society at large did not recognise their sexuality and feelings for one another so they cannot express themselves publically. Their lack of physical contact on the show reflects the social repression they face, emphasising it to the viewer. Thankfully it is still made clear they love and support each other in a positive relationship. Rant over! :) (2/2)

Patsy/Delia - Multiple m/f couples on the show have had smooches on screen (for ex, Tom/Barbara making out repeatedly after barely being together). So it's glaring that a couple who wants to get married has not kissed at all (even teasing fans w/the phone booth and cutting out the Gateway Club kiss). Queer characters are still often blatantly censored when it comes to visible physical intimacy. Things will not be satisfactory until we get rid of these awful double standards wherever they appear.

Hey so I totally get that and I wasn’t trying to undermine the importance of representation or the double standard that I do agree is there. I know this will come out as a bad excuse but I’m gay myself and I feel we are doing alright in programming right now. Fair enough, I would like a Patsy and Delia kiss too but I don’t think it’s 100% necessary for CtM, I think other programs like sense8 and ointb have us covered from that side. Granted, Barbara and Tom have got a lot more than we have and that isn’t fair, I do agree with everyone on that front.For me, Patsy and Delia have helped because they’re a gay couple on a family program on BBC. This has helped me because I watch CtM with my family and it brings good conversations about for us. I don’t necessarily think a kiss is needed for this but I would like one, especially because of the double standard in regards to Barbara and Tom.TL;DRI would like a kiss, but I’m not going mad about it because I don’t think it’s the end of the world if we don’t get one. Although I do understand why people really really want it, especially due to the double standard.

Are there any vids/ recordings of helen george singing about on the internet because i know she trained at a top musical theatre school and sang backup for elton john so she must be pretty darn good and im bloody DESPERATE to hear her voice

I knew she was a singer and I’d love to hear her sing as well. So I had a good look and all I could find was this video, she barely sings in it and it’s pretty poor quality audio but from what I can tell she has a really nice voice! The song starts just before one minute in and she sings first at around 3:05.

Religion in Call the Midwife

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. and especially after tonight’s episode. Personally, despite pressure from some of my family, I’m not religious. I was wondering how many of you are Christians, how many of you have another religion, and how many have none at all. And if this effects your enjoyment of the program and your understanding of characters? I’m really interested in this it would be fantastic if anyone could get back to me! Thank you.
