look we know i love an arranged marriage romance but for once i’d like for the arranged marriage couple to actually be a product of their time (since this trope is usually only in period dramas) and get down to Business without all the whole “well we don’t REALLY like each other” nonsense. like you’re telling me every arranged married couple in history waited to fall in love BEFORE having sex? if people don’t bother with that outside marriage, why would they inside? lol
90% of age gaps don’t matter when you’re a grown adult as long as you don’t have a repeated pattern of dating people barely legal. I would date someone 30 years older than me if I liked them who gaf
This entire conversation is somehow 90% people infantilizing themselves and 10% actually people talking about the issue of men who never grow out of dating 18/19 year olds. No it is not a big deal when a 25 year old dates a 35 year old please get a grip
Honestly if you’re in your mid twenties infantilizing yourself on this level maybe you shouldn’t be dating anyone
Consent is hot and all TO A POINT but if you want someone to be insanely obsessed with someone else which is not actually healthy but fun to watch, then you gotta have BALANCE. If a man is willing to take 108 lashes and forget about his father's murder for a woman then he also is going to bite her on the shoulder until he draws blood because he was feeling a little unwanted and it's okay because she bites him back but also because it's that sort of passion that leads to the hot sacrificial stuff, do you see what I'm saying?
If a person is severely and attractively unhinged for the other person, you have to deal with all the benefits and consequences
I mean, I wouldn’t expect a guy who willingly takes 108 lashes for a woman to be right in his mind, like of course he doesn’t understand boundaries and consent. Audiences liking him taking the lashes but not liking him for not understanding consent is too demanding and that’s entirely audiences’ problem if they want to grumble about consent. You cannot call that man unhinged and then get shocked and angry at him when he bites and gets all over the place.
It’s like looking for shades of green in a red flag.
You said I killed you-haunt me, then! Be with me always-take any form-drive me mad!
only do not leave me in this abyss, where I cannot find you!
Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights
ALAYM mirror scene: 🫣😳...
I'm a sucker for fucked up relationships. Unhinged obsession. Limitless devotion. Love to the point of destruction.
It's not lying. It's looking at things another way.

feel like you can easily adapt something Odyssey-like to a lot of different contexts. like you’re some Levantine emir barely holding onto your province during the Crusades and some Kurdish upstart (Salah ad-Din obviously) is demanding you help him liberate Jerusalem and you go and win and then you’re stuck wandering the Levant with your army for ten years but instead of monsters and gods you keep having to fight off rogue Templars and jinn and maybe most of your army is killed by a freak landslide in Wadi Nahr al-Kalb (in modern Lebanon) and at some point you get lost in the Syrian desert and wind up at some oasis (that may or may not be real) and accidentally marry a lady jinn
and your (human) wife is ruling your province in your stead while fending off suitors (idk, i haven’t thought this part through)
my favorite green witch and her blue themed prince

Accurate Catherine and Heathcliff because Hollywood refuses to make accurate adaptations 😮💨
The ending everyone dreams of (maybe, maybe or not)
