Tried making this post before but couldn't. On strong anxiety meds now, so... here it goes. I want to be transparent and admit that I did use an "ai chatbot" to help me write some of this. When I'm ready, I'll be able to write a better post.
tl/dr:
Our beautiful Kuiper passed away suddenly on September 17th from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was only 4 years old and seemed perfectly healthy.
Sudden cardiac death can happen in young dogs without warning. Please hug your pets extra tight.
Not ready to talk much about it yet, but wanted his friends to know. Thank you for understanding as we grieve our special boy.
It's with a shattered heart that I share that my beautiful boy, Kuiper, passed away suddenly on September 17th 2025 from a cardiac event. He was only 4 years old. No prior health issues despite yearly vet screenings and being watched full-time by a family that works from home.
He was playing ball with us just an hour before. I was giving him forehead kisses maybe 10 minutes before.
Despite being young and seemingly healthy, Kuiper had an undiagnosed heart condition that took him from us without warning. Even with immediate CPR and emergency vet care, we were unable to revive him.
Sudden cardiac death can happen in young dogs, even with no prior symptoms. Please cherish every moment with your furry family members.
I'm not ready to talk much about it yet, but wanted any followers of us to know what happened to this special, incredible boy. Thank you for understanding as I grieve.
He was my emotional support animal, despite not being registered. Anxiety attacks and depressive episodes and overstimulation - all of that was made so much easier since I got to know him. He is my best friend, and I love him forever.
Somewhere across the rainbow bridge, my grandparents are playing ball with him and giving him lots of kisses.
He's my friend's mystery mix rescue doggo! He turned 2 years old on January 1st (his chosen birthday)! He's friendly, loyal, smart, and loves his long walks. Just a total certified good boy.
