Imagine Jack being told that you’re being treated in a different room…
“Who pulled the kid from the ice?” Jack asked the EMT officers as he worked around the nurses and residents to stabilise the child.
It’s like the air had dipped several degrees from the question and Jack noticed the shared glances from the nurses which made his stomach churn. He passed a tube to Santos and dipped his head to meet Robby’s averting eyes.
“Who, Robby?”
Robby winced. It’s like he was wrestling the truth. In the end, he wasn’t the one to answer, it was Santos. “Y/n’s being treated in South 8. Hypothermia.”
He nod and turned back to the patient on the bed. He had to focus on what was happening now. You were in good hands.
How bad was it?
Jack looked at the monitors. Vitals weren’t crashing but they still needed to improve. Someone called for more blankets as Jack rushed to the cabinet and grabbed the ones closest before passing them to the nurse.
Were you conscious?
“Jack.” Robby called and drew his attention from the mayhem. “Go, we’ve got it from here.”
With that, Jack didn’t waste a single moment. He rushed out of the room, gloves being ripped off and discarded in the first bin he saw. Dana glanced at him but didn’t comment on the direction he was headed.
Jack pulled off his SWAT jacket as he entered the small room in South 8. Dr King and Dr Shen were overseeing your treatment, both brilliant and capable, but Jack dismissed their presence when he saw you on the bed, shivering.
Quickly walking over, Jack held out the jacket. “Come here.” He said softly and helped place the SWAT fabric over your hospital gown. Your arms slipped through the uniform easily despite the slightly looser fit. He watched you snuggle against it as another shiver passed.
“It’s warm…” you whispered.
Jack took your icy hand and smiled. “It’s the hug I can’t give you right now.”

a/n: wow! a proper fic skdfhjdkshf i actually had a good plot and inspo in mind for this lol still recovering from bronchitis but give it up for delayed flufftober day 22 <3 enjoy!
As a child, your mother would lull you to slumber with an old but well loved music box. A few turns of the knob would make the box open, revealing the tiny ballerina inside. She would twirl and twirl to the melody of Clair De Lune- one of your favorite classical pieces- until you eventually doze off. It stood proudly as your family heirloom, your protector against childhood nightmares and insomnia.
Now, your prized possession lays before your feet, shattered into various pieces. Hannah— your toddler, affectionately referred to as Hank 0– stands on the other side, eyes wide and mouth agape. You’re frozen in place, hands trembling.
“Guys? You okay? I heard a crash,” Hank 5 peeks his head inside Hannah’s bedroom and sees the two of you at a standstill. He steps inside the room and assesses the situation, only to cover his mouth and gasp at the sight of the broken music box.
“I need- I need a minute,” your feet act on their own, as you dart out of your daughter’s bedroom and into the hallway. Through the maze of rooms on the third floor, you find your way to your private office and collapse on the sofa, finally letting the tears flow.
“Babe? You in here?” you hear someone call out to you, but you make no response. After a minute or two, the door opens and a familiar man in red sits beside you on the couch.
“House Honey,” Hank 2 gently grasps you by the chin and tilts it up so you’re looking in one another’s eyes, “What’s wrong? I heard the commotion.”
“She broke it,” your whisper is tight and pained, “She broke the music box.”
“Oh, baby,” Hank 2 embraces you and rubs your back, falling silent so you could cry uninterrupted. He holds you close while you sob, a stable front for you to lean upon.
“I know it was an accident,” you finally speak up once finished with crying, “I told her to be careful because of how important it is, but she lost her footing and- and-”
“Accidents happen,” Two confers, “Especially with toddlers.”
“I know, I know- I just…” you sniffle a bit, “She wanted to hold it… she was telling me how pretty and- gnarly-” you let out a weak laugh, “-it was… but now it’s broken.”
“Is it beyond repairable?” questions Hank 2, resting a hand against your cheek to wipe away any excess tears.
You ponder about it before answering, “I’m… I’m not sure.”
“I’m sure One could fix it,” suggests Hank 2, “Or we could take it to a special workshop. We’ll get it repaired.”
“And if it can’t be repaired?” you ask.
Hank 2 cups your cheeks and flashes you his gummy smile, “Then we’ll make a new heirloom, one unique to you and Hannah. How does that sound?”
You nod slowly in response and Hank 2 pecks you on the lips. He then hops off the sofa and extends a hand, “Now, let’s go check in on everyone.”
You take his hand and pull yourself off the couch. The two of you head downstairs and find Hannah in the living room, sitting perched upon her father’s lap. Hank 4 sits to their right while Hanks 1 and 3 are hovering over the coffee table, tools and pieces in hand.
“What are you guys doing?” you ask the group, eyebrows raised.
“Performing surgery,” replies Hank 3, as he passes Hank 1 a screwdriver.
“Repairing your music box,” Hank 1 adds on, taking the tool and tightening a component of the music box. He lets out a satisfied sigh and makes room for you to see. Sure enough, your engineer and surgeon husbands did repair your music box!
“Only question left is if it works,” you murmur softly, as you examine the repaired device. Before you test it out, you turn your attention to Hank 5 and Hannah. You scoot closer to them and place a hand on Hannah’s back, which grabs her attention.
“Mama?” your daughter looks at you with wet eyes and a quivering bottom lip. She sniffles and blinks, tears flowing down her chubby cheeks, as she cries out to you, “I’m sorry, Mama!”
You’re quick to hug your toddler and soothe her, letting the little one cry it out in your arms. Hank 5 joins in with a kiss on top of Hannah’s head and hums to her, “You did the right thing by saying sorry, Hannie.”
“I tripped…” she mumbles through the tears and you nod, “You did. It was an accident and sometimes, accident happen.”
“But the box…” she trails off.
You wipe away your daughter’s tears while you explain to her, “It broke and that made Mana sad because the music box is really special. It was your Grandma’s and your Great-Grandma’s and so therefore, it’s what we call a family heirloom.”
“Heir… loom…” she repeats back, a slight stammer to the word because of her ongoing language development.
Nonetheless, you continue, “Yes! That means it’s really special for our family and I gave you the music box because you’re my baby like how Grandma gave me it when I was little because I’m her baby.”
Hannah’s enraptured by your explanation, eyes twinkle with awe instead of sorrow. You chuckle a little at the sight and pepper her cheeks with kisses, earning much delighted giggles from your little one.
“Hannah, would you like to turn the music box on?” you ask your daughter.
Hannah looks at you then at Hank 5, unsure what to do. Hank 5 gives her a nod and a reassuring smile before placing the toddler in front of the music box. You and the other Hanks step back, as your brunet husband demonstrates how to turn the device on.
Hannah begins to turn the knob with as much delicateness a two year old could muster. After the third rotation, the music box springs to life and the ballerina starts twirling to the melody.
You watch with a small smile, as Hannah focuses in on the music, her eyes never leaving the sight of the ballerina. Despite being an identical copy of Hank 5, she looks just like you when you first were gifted the music box:
Transfixed and awestruck, falling in love with the melody.
The Arlong pirates put up quite the fight. But, with Luffy’s support backing each of you, it was nothing that you couldn’t handle.
You had split from the group temporarily after being pursued by two of the fishman pirates. They managed to land a few bruises but you caught their patterns and, with decisive strikes, knocked them down.
When you returned to Arlong Park, Zoro and Sanji were in their own individual battles. You watched as they fought in sync, like they had done this hundreds of times.
As you observed, you noticed that another fishman pirate had snuck up from the water. Reaching into your belt, you pulled out a dagger and sent it whizzing through the air. It made impact with the fishman, sending him down but not before Zoro and Sanji delivered their own blows.
Zoro frowned and turned to the cook. “I had that one.”
“If you had him, I wouldn’t have got him.” Sanji stepped forward with a smirk.
You approached. Passing between them before they chose to tackle each other, you collected your dagger - the real weapon that defeated the pirate - in a slow motion to ensure that they caught on.
Turning to them, you stepped over to Zoro and pressed a kiss to his cheek. Then you moved to Sanji and pressed another light kiss to his cheek.
“I think it’s cute when you’re both wrong.” You teased, enjoying the way Zoro and Sanji had been stunned into silence.
You spot Usopp emerging from another gate at Arlong Park and waved before bolting in his direction.

Imagine Johnny admiring you when he sees you flying alongside the Excelsior…
Johnny looked out through the window and simply stared. He pressed a button to open the communication link so you could access the bridge conversation.
“Have I ever told you how hot you look floating through the stars?” He wondered.
Sue chuckled softly under her breath at the flirty remark. Ben, on the other hand, stared at the blonde-haired man. “Seriously, Johnny?”
You flew a little closer to his window and winked, knowing exactly how much it made his stomach flutter. “Why don’t you open the hatch and tell me in person?”
The belt buckle was off in a second. You watched Johnny speed-swim his way through anti-gravity to the receiving dock. Reed was focused on aligning the ship with the lightspeed port but he seemed to have an ear on the conversation.
“Keep it PG or I’m dropping you both back on Earth.”
You couldn’t help but laugh before swerving under the spacecraft to the other side of the Excelsior. When you arrived to the right spot, the hanger door was already open and waiting. You flew inside, letting your feet make contact with the floor as the outer door closed.
The chamber hissed, decontaminating and filling the space with breathable air at the same time. There was a beep to indicate the process being complete and another smaller hiss opened the interior doors - where Johnny was waiting.
You stepped through and before the second set of doors sealed, Johnny’s hands found your face, his mouth landing perfectly against yours. The kiss was intense as if he hadn’t seen you in years. With warm lips, Johnny was heating up your space-cooled body from the inside. Then he peppered soft kisses down your jaw to your exposed collarbone.
You knew that there was a mission to focus on but Johnny Storm was quickly rearranging your priorities.
A small burst of invisible energy suddenly knocked the wind out of you and Johnny splitting you apart.
You regained your balance fairly quickly but Johnny bumped into the wall.
“Nice going, sis.” He muttered, annoyed.
The intercom chimed before Sue’s voice echoed in the air, a somewhat bright lilt in her tone. “Back to the bridge, lovebirds. We’re about to jump.”
You looked at Johnny just as he did the same. He motioned to you follow and you caught a gentle, satisfied smile on his face when he turned. It wasn’t until you passed a reflection of yourself that you realised why - Johnny Storm had left a light love mark on your skin. It peeked through the neck of your outfit and you quickly covered the exposed skin when you entered the bridge.
Finding your seat, there were no comments about what had happened. Everyone was locked in and ready to speed into the galaxy.
You glanced at Johnny as Reed began the countdown. The sooner that you all dealt with this ‘Galactus’, the sooner you could settle in his arms again.

You had been running across the beach shore for far too long. The muscles in your legs were aching, your sword felt as heavy as iron bricks, and your eyes were growing fuzzy - so fuzzy that you missed the fact that someone was standing in front until you barrelled into them.
With a small oomph! you stumbled backwards and landed on the sandy ground. Looking up, you found Mihawk curiously staring back.
“You know, I was sent here to apprehend a rogue group of pirates. It was a very easy task… until I arrived.” He said.
You ducked on instinct as an explosion sounded from behind. “I didn’t start this.”
Mihawk glared. He didn’t believe a word nor was he impressed. “Then why, pray tell, was it your name scratched onto the side of their armada?”
Pausing mid-crouch, you pursed your lips and straightened up. You had hoped that he had missed that detail but he didn’t have hawk-like vision for nothing.
“I had my reasons.” Another glare from him and you conceded with a dramatic sigh. “Fine, I was mad at their captain.”
Mihawk glanced behind you and swiped his sword through the air, sending a powerful cutting blast towards three pirates, who had been after you, and sent them into the sea. “I never expected you to cause a squabble over something so trivial.”
This time, you narrowed your eyes at him. “He called me a ‘useless, sea-chasing, pirate-wannabe’.”
“That’s creative.” Mihawk drawled, swinging his sword to rest over his shoulder. “Perhaps, I should pay him a visit.”
You knew that if Mihawk made it to the pirate, there would be whole missing armada because of the comment.
“Trust me, it’s under control.” You said and scratched the back of your neck. “Although, I think I might need a ride out of here.”
At that, Mihawk chuckled low and smooth. “And you think that I’m simply going to let you use my boat to escape a problem that you created?“
Stepping forward, you stared into his eyes. You could feel the heat coming off his skin and the smell of the sea. “I think you like me enough to not leave me stranded.” You said with confidence and then smiled, softening your voice. “I just can’t prove it yet.”

Mihawk had to work extra hard to hold himself together when you spoke to him like that - voice low and alluring. He needed to be more careful. Had you been any closer, Mihawk would have planted a kiss against your mouth and you would have finally understand the depth of his emotional attachment.
As he watched you walk away, in the wrong direction, Mihawk realised that he needed to put enough distance between you both. He refused to put you in danger by his enemies or a be used as a pawn by the World Government. But first, he needed to help you out of this sticky mess.
