Humans are just as they sound——the regular, everyday people. They don’t have abilities, and they don’t work for the government or The Company. These are the civilians, but even if they seem unassuming, regular humans can play very important roles in the new world after the eclipse. Don't write them off as uninteresting, because they're anything but.

• Human characters do not have abilities, and for the time being, and probably always, cannot ever get them. There is a serum that have been created to grant abilities. Although that serum does exist within the confines of this roleplay, we're going to have to say no to your character having somehow gotten their hands on it.

• If your character belongs to either the Government or the Company, they would go under those groups rather than this one. Just to clear things up in case they weren't already clear.

A vast majority of the members of the government are humans, and the exceptions probably either have yet to realize they are different, or are doing their hardest to hide it. These people work for the president, or local government (ie, police force etc). Government members are not people the posthumans want to run into, because they’re uncertain how the government would handle the knowledge that these people were different, and more dangerous.

• Characters belonging to the government can encompass anything from a politician, or senator, to someone who works for the local police force. Posthuman or not, if your character has connections to the government involving their occupation, this is the branch where they belong.

• Don't be discouraged in making a posthuman based in this group. The abilities aren't that hard to hide, and since the eclipse has just happened, it makes perfect sense that someone who has yet to develop abilities or is just now beginning to notice things that are out of the ordinary works for the Government.

• The Government has no ties to the Company, they do not work together, and they have no mission to get rid of those with abilities, because all things considered, they aren't quite aware. This isn't Area 51 type stuff, this is something gone undetected by the government and under the radar thus far. There are no Government organized manhunts for people with abilities... Yet, anyway.

Posthumans are recognized by several names——Heroes, Specials, Superhumans. Whatever the title and whether hero, villain, or somewhere in between, these are those with abilities, or those who will soon come into a realization that they have them. Every member of this group has an ability of some sort, whether they have realized it yet or not. However, it isn’t all fun and games and comic book superpowers. Not everyone without an ability will be accepting of these variations to the norm. And not every posthuman will use their powers for good.

• Not every ability is going to be strong and powerful from the start. It works the same way as anything else; practice makes perfect. It takes time and work to tune them to do exactly what you intend them to. This means we won't have too many people running around with completely mastered abilities and such from the start.

• Some characters will have had their abilities longer than others, and hence will be stronger. We would prefer you not to do this, but since some of the characters who are canons or are in specific situations are written that way, it can't be avoided, so we're allowing it. If you apply for a character and wish for them to have had their ability for a longer amount of time than the recent few weeks, talk it over with one of us.

• Characters who grew up with ties to the company, or from certain canon families may have had their abilities for much longer. We prefer that only Company kids and characters related to them have had their abilities for that long, if only to keep from having hundreds of seriously overpowered characters running around.

• They are not widely known as posthuman. They are simply persons with abilities - the name is simply the way we chose to class them. Their more scientific name. As of right now, no one is going around saying 'oh, yeah, he's a posthuman.

The Company, also known as Primatech, is an organization focused on tracking evolved humans, letting the less dangerous ones go but often keeping the ones they consider to be threats in captivity, or convincing them to work for the company. Most members of this organization have abilities, and agents are trained almost like soldiers in several aspects, and experiments, many not legal or necessarily morally right are conducted by the scientists who work for them. Many—though not all—of the members are corrupt or ruthless, considering they have no qualms about capturing, experimenting on, and/or killing variants like them… or humans that get in their way.

• As stated in the description of the posthuman membergroup, those who grew up within the company are likely to have had knowledge of their abilities prior to the eclipse, even as children. Since the Company knew about the abilities for a while now, they may have pushed those growing up within the organization to develop their abilities.

• According to the series wiki, "[THE COMPANY'S] primary purpose is to identify, monitor and study those individuals with genetically-derived special abilities." IE, monitor those who had abilities, and be sure that the Government doesn't get involved, since not everything they do is exactly legal.

• jonas zimmerman, one of the genetic scientists employed by the company, was responsible for the granting of abilities to two sets of triplets (ie the Zimmerman triplets - Tracy, Barbara, and Niki, and the Petrelli triplets - Peter, Giovanni, and ______).

• They do not necessarily go and hunt down those with abilities, unless they believe those people could be threats. Even then, for the most part, they have no ill intentions - they often monitor and track them, but aside from that it's fairly harmless. If you consider breaking the law and stalking to be harmless.

alright, so, this is us officially announcing that RESERVES ARE NOW OPEN. they will remain open until the site’s opening, and there is no limit as to how many faces you can reserve. 

the canons can be reserved as well, so if you want information on them please ask us! also note that canons have open faces but their abilities can’t be changed. they can be found here along with their abilities if you hover over them. 

also please note that aisling callaghan, brigid callaghan, nieve darcy, and ailis byrne all have the same faceclaim (which you should be able to find on the list, seeing as the admins are taking two of them.)

ABOUT RESERVES: 

you can reserve as many faces as you want but every single one of them need to have a blurb posted in the tag (and have no fear! the admins will be required to post blurbs as well - or at least those of us able to).

all you have to do is write a little something about your character and tag it as genesisrp then send us an ask with your alias, faceclaim, ability, and which blog you posted the blurb on just in case it didn’t show up in the tag (because tumblr is a fickle friend)

there are no duplicate abilities. ability reserves are first come first served the same way that faces are. this may change once the site is up and running and we have a fair amount of members.

if you wish to twin a face that someone else has reserved, contact them first (although i’m pretty sure that goes without saying.)

since reserves are open, using specific faces for your blurbs is perfectly acceptable but if someone gets to the face before you, you will have to ask for a different face

the tag is a good place to post requests as well, so make sure you check there and see if there are any requests that catch your fancy!

they will last for 24 HOURS once we open. but you can ask for an extension if you can’t finish in that time.

and here's the plot. it's sort of vague, but we wanted to give you guys a lot of freedom. hopefully this will help with your blurbs / character ideas when we open reserves!

for the membergroups, we wanted to choose something we didn't see used as often, and after throwing around suggestions we wound up going with the five elements. of course, this is possibly prone to change as we finish the site, but for now this is the official membergroup list, so you can draw from this when you work on your blurbs.

so long story short i'm pushing reserves back to tomorrow because i just now realized we haven't released membergroups, or the plot. that's my fault. i'm so sorry. so, give me a few minutes and i'll have those up for you guys <3 that way when reserves open you can have a solid idea of what membergroup they should be and what location, that sort of stuff. but just really quick let's go through some things.

we've decided on a shipper app, in case you guys missed that. 

reserves will mean posting a blurb about your character - try to get over 150 words for that, please! having solid character ideas is always helpful, plus it helps people pre-plot and get interested before the site opens, which helps get the site to a good start!

the reserves list can be found here - it looks long, but don't fret! most of the length are the canons, and those do not have set faceclaims. however, if you hover over the names, it should come up with a little hover label and you can find reserved abilities there. we do not allow multiple of the same ability, at least for now, so make sure that when reserves open you don't try to ask for one that's already listed!

you can reserve as many faces as you want, as long as there is a blurb for them in the tag!

reserves will last twenty four hours from opening, but you can be granted extensions if you can't finish by then.

the roleplay will be set in three cities: new york, las vegas, and odessa - three that were key in the show that we're basing this roleplay off of. your character can live in any one of those cities, or you can note if they commute on a regular basis. you aren't confined to interacting with characters within your own city, since it's realistic to say that they can easily travel from place to place!

as far as faceclaim rules; we have no 5 years +/- rule. but we ask that you be realistic with how old your character can portray, and we prefer no internet celebrities or site models. only well known celebrities such as models, singers, actors and actresses. 

i can't quite give out image sizes yet since we're still working on things, but we'll be sure to let you know when we're done!

for everyone's sake, please start posting in the tag. anything. absolutely anything. moodboards, blurbs w/o faceclaims until reserves open up. anything. just get involved for us okay.

A ‘Ring of Fire’ solar eclipse is a rare phenomenon that occurs when the moon’s orbit is at its apogee: the part of its orbit farthest away from the Earth. Because the moon is so far away, it seems smaller than normal to the human eye. The result is that the moon doesn’t entirely block out our view of the sun, but leaves an “annulus,” or ring of sunlight glowing around it. Hence the term  “annular” eclipse rather than a “total” eclipse.

out of the three votes we received about reserves, the majority vote was that we open them now. of course, that doesn't mean right now because we still have a couple things to finish before we open them, but just keep your eyes open for that announcement soon. since when reserves open, it will be to everyone, there will be no early reserves contests. however, when they do open, you'll be allowed to reserve as many faces as you want. there will be an announcement posted at some point today to denote open reserves, so keep an eye out for that!

alright guys. 

we would really like to get some feedback, because otherwise, since no one is posting in the tag or anything of the sort, it seems to us as admins working hard on a site that the interest isn’t there, which does make us iffy in ways about pushing for opening. we’d just like to be absolutely certain that there are enough people interested in the site to get it off to a good start, and without your input or enthusiasm, that’s difficult.

we asked some questions here and we would seriously appreciate your input, because whatever you guys want we're here to cater to. we're attempting to make this place as welcoming and for you as it can be. but we can't do that if you don't tell us anything.
