{ I'm contemplating putting my Fables blogs on hiatus. Waiting for more canon material plus other, new muses grasping for my attention are making it difficult to write Snow and Bigby well, and a number of my other partners are taking breaks, too. This isn't permanent or anything, probably just until 150 comes out, but until then my actual rp activity on these blogs will be limited, and you might even see me reblogging promos for any other blogs of mine. }

Whoever said â I can rest when Iâm deadâ was a fool
It might be a little too early for a rest, but the wolf needed to gauge her exhaustion - if she pushed too much she could faint, however he too was worried if they stopped now she might not be able to continue

Snow was quick to send him a glower, taking a moment to shift her weight; the cuffs jangled on her wrists, simply two more useless adornments that weighed her down.
âYou can check on the elderly,â she answered crisply, âbut i am fine.â She could hear Roseâs scoff behind her and paused to lift her leg, feeling her twin stumble into her and nearly lose her balance for a moment.
If they did stop, though, undoubtedly she would find herself caring for those elderly among them, because despite his efforts, it was easy to tell many were still frightened to the very core of the big wolf.
uiding a group of refugees is no easy task - many of them got broken bones, or are merely too tired and weakened to have a decent pace. The wolf had learned to make good use of that to check ahead and take down and patrol that might be too close, or to order them to take a few momentsâ rest as he hunts down something both for them and for himself - even through there are times that the prey is scarce and he ends up only getting small things for the most weakened of them.Â
The sounds of tumbling isnât uncommon, but one in particular caught his attention. Watching as the raven-haired damsel struggled, the wolf approached her.Â

He shouldnât be giving any special treatment, but given her bravery a few days ago he was willing to make one exception.
âIâm fine,â Snow insisted quietly, ignoring the way her gut churned from the unsavory combination of fear, hunger and frustration. She wasnât so afraid of the wolf, not after days of traveling and of prioritizing, but she was always wary that his intentions may not be so clear cut.
It was hard enough, too, to deal with such doting along with everything else.Â
âJust because I amââ
ââwas royalty doesnât render me a stranger to walking.â
For a menagerie of reasons, it was considerably difficult for Snow to find someone she could relate to.
Even in her secluded palace sheâd heard of the all-powerful North Wind. For the strength of her magic, the nature of his abilities all but dwarfed hers â only recently was she able to expand her influence to include her entire kingdom, a small bubble of her own wild storm â and she had come to respect, albeit grudgingly, the sheer power of Boreas Frostheart.
The flight to the old howlerâs castle was a pleasant one, with plentiful snow flurries and breathtaking views to occupy her thoughts. She was concerned, to say the least, on many fronts; her own powers aside, she doubted he would so much as give her the time of day, especially when few people had ever encountered the old man on more than one occasion. Supposedly only his servants (not to mention his rumored bastard children) ever spoke to him regularly; perhaps she would catch him in a particularly charitable mood?

It was certain death, she was almost sure; she and Rose would be spending their last days together in utter filth, bound like criminals and likely toiling away until their demise.
Rose had given up struggling the day before. No longer did she tug on the chains that bound them all, nor did she hiss obscenities and curses at those who led them along; she acted like she normally did when she realized she'd already lost whatever fight or argument and had accepted that there was no use in making it worse for herself.
Snow, though? Every moment was spent ignoring the soreness of her joints and the aching in her legs and focusing on any ploy that could possibly get them out of this stupid predicament. Wherever she stumbled upon a dead end to one plan, she'd simply start over, all the while attempting to memorize the path they were taking so that maybe, maybe they could find their way to the portal.
She fought for her survival for all those years; the instinct to fight, to win, was engrained in her. Perhaps if she knew what fate had in store for her on that gloomy, sullen day...

{ I'm really in the mood for Homelands threads, so like this for a starter? }
{ Really before I die I want an au where Snow is a fucking fierce queen in the Homelands. }
"Do I smell breakfast or is that the house burning down?"
Bigby gave his surroundings a swift glance, just to make sure nothing was set ablaze. No smoke was picked up by his nostrils, that was if he didnât count the charred pan in the kitchen. Then he realized she was toying with him. âThatâs a lil on the harsh side. My food not good enough for you?â He smirked just a little as he placed the plate of his typical ham and eggs on the small dining table situated in apartment. âIs there any real reason why youâve made a visit? Or are you here just to judge my culinary skills?â
Once again; Snow was correct, though he still couldnât help but feel he had a high level of involvement behind the negligence. Â No one was meant to die under his authority, he was a sheriff who was instructed to make sure everyone was safe. He had been so careless. Â Bigby knew exactly what Snow was thinking, there was one other that was to blame for this mess. That sick freak; Crane. That man repulsed him to the core, from his lack of respect of lower fables, to his stalker behaviour around his boss. All those rape fantasies the man held was enough to make the sheriff want to tear him into thousands of pieces. Not also forgetting the embezzlement. When they were exiled from the homelands, none of them had expected it to be this damn hard. They were all trying to survive in an alien world, not so much now due to the extended time they had lived here. There was always the danger of exposure, no fable could truly relax. Â It wasnât fair to send those who couldnât be human to the farm, it was for their safety. This was all the adversaryâs fault. âThe moment we were exiled, luck has never been on our side. We just have to make the best of the situation we have.â
He placed a hand on Snowâs shoulder, aware that she was still visibly upset by the incident. âWe can make it better, Crane is gone and youâre running this town. I trust you can do whatâs right for us.â
âBut thatâs what Iâm worried about, Bigby.â
Sheâd always failed to recognize how idealistic, how immature a notion it was; the lines separating what they wanted to do for people and what they could do for people had never been clear cut for Snow. She was so against the notion that they couldnât give Fabletown citizens everything theyâd all deserved that sheâd chosen to ignore it, but now she couldnât run from it anymore; she was in charge now.
âWhat if I canât? Iâm going to listen to people, Iâm going to try, but what if thereâre problems we just canât fix after all? Then what are we here for?â

What else could she say? There was a good chance she might not even come back alive from this, killed by her own husband, gutted in the street or head ripped off like the other poor souls heâd murdered since his return...
âI love you, okay? And daddy does too, even if heâs out of it right now.â God, the words were enough to choke her. âIâllâ Iâll talk to you all soon.â

Domestic Starters 2.0Accepting
âWhat? Bigby!â
Well, at least it probably meant he was trying to help around the house, butâ
âYou know we donât have money to just throw around,â Snow said, with a grumble that dissolved into a defeated sigh. She didnât think dishwashers could even⌠break like that. âHow on earth did you even manage that?â
âNo, but stubbornness definitely doesnât help it.â With a sigh she stood, giving the machine one last disdainful look â there it was, little over a monthâs paycheck â before rolling the buttons into her blazer pocket.
âWell, we donât have the time to worry about it now,â Snow concluded hurriedly, âbecause weâre behind enough as it is. I should be getting back to work. Weâll have appointments coming in soonâŚâ
âRight,â he nodded a subsequent time to prove he was still listening. Stubbornness was one of his major flaws, it made things a lot more challenging for him to complete. Pride meant a lot to him, all of his time back in the woodlands involved him announcing to everything he encountered that he was the biggest and most powerful creature of all. No one could make him do anything, that old mentality was hard to shake. Â For Snow, heâd sacrifice that. He had already given up so many things for her.
Snowâs voice was rushed, making it clear to Bigby that she had no time to discuss about his previous destructive behaviour. Work had to be finished. âYeah, you should get back to the office, I wouldnât want you facing more frustrated clients over your tardiness. â
Snow dragged her fingernails through her hair, unwashed for days and grimy, her eyes skipping from the toes of her worn shoes to her supplies scattered around her, her cane lying a little over armâs length away. Sheâd become dizzy and lost her balance, not an unusual problem for her these days, and her legs, still recuperating from nerve issues, had started giving her problems again.
As much as she hated to admit it, she was well and truly stuck; she hadnât counted on having more issues while she was out, and certainly hadnât fathomed she would possibly end up leaving the Farm without her stupid goddamn pillsâ
Wait. Footfalls. She froze and straightened herself, straining to listen. They were even and quick, probably not undead but it didnât mean she was any safer. The burnt-out shell of a nearby car became her support as she tried to pull herself to her feet, grumbling curses in her exasperation.
{ loudmouthedfloridian }
âIâm sorry that it had to come to this.â
Snow didnât know any other way to deal with thisâBigby had left her with no other choice but to confront him. Sheâd do what she had to, whether it meant restraining him or even killing him, to protect her children, no matter how much it pained her.
âBut I had to go to the city. I left Therese in charge, but itâll take all of you to keep each other out of trouble, Winter.â
