echo runs cold as a result of what was done to him on skako minor. wrecker runs hot as a result of the enhancements made on him when he was being grown in a lab on kamino.

headcanon that echo slowly and subconsciously becomes very close to wrecker because of how warm he is. he’s a warm presence in both body and mind. he’s kind and almost always cheerful. he’s already very physically affectionate. over time, echo finds himself just leaning on him in quiet moments. sitting beside him on the marauder on the way to missions. and on nights where he can’t sleep, either from being cold, nightmares, or both, he shuffles over to wrecker’s bunk. wrecker never pushes him and just holds him to give him his warmth and presence.

at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.

Maul with his Mandalorian companion. Touches that take place when no one watches. Hands brushing. Shoulders pressed closer than usual. Glimpses that linger more often.

When the others of the collective are dismissed Maul and his companion take tea in the space that Maul claimed as his. The touches are longer now as the tea is passed over.

He scrunches his nose when the Mandalorian places an extra cube of sugar in their tea. He will indulge them pushing the small tin of the stuff closer to them.

They sip their tea in the quiet. The cacophony of the day slowly fading away.

The cups are put away. The two sit back against the wall. Hands interlocked. This was enough.

The mandalorian shifts to press their forehead gently against Mauls. Mindful of the horns. This has been perfected over time. A keldabe kiss.

Maul sighed at the touch, the slight coolness of their skin upon his. This was enough.

do you ever think about how, out of the entire batch, the one you could call the adrenaline junkie is TECH. he's so fucking crazy it terrifies his teammates and others alike. he had a plan so absurd ANAKIN SKYWALKER looked at him like he was insane. he probably would have taken the zillo beast home if it hadn't tried to eat the others. he joins the super dangerous racing death game after only having done like 3 hours of research just to prove a point and gets so into it he probably could have made a crazy good profit over time. the entire tech turn and his flight patterns are bizarre and risky. he LOVES his high-risk-high-reward situations and its excellent.

headcanon that the bad batch bois can hardly ever sleep peacefully unless they’re all sleeping in the same room/ship together.

they’ve been stuck with each other for probably almost their whole lives, and are obviously very attached to one another. we saw that they all shared a special room in the first episode of TBB (unlike the special “pod bunks” we see in TCW). on the marauder, it looks like they all sleep in bunks close together there too. so they’re pretty much with each other 24/7. so sleeping apart from one another has to feel so strange and disconcerting to them.

even when echo joins, he’s pretty much the same way. sleeping alone is too scary for him; after what happened on Skako Minor, being alone for too long freaks him out. and he DEF has nightmares for a long time, if not nightly. and the norm for the rest of the batch is to sleep near each other, so they have no issue with him sleeping close by one of them.

they’re so used to each other’s little quirks at night that it’s comforting to them. tech’s tinkering, wrecker’s snoring, crosshair’s restlessness in his sleep, echo’s prosthetics clicking or creaking when he’s moving, etc. if they try to sleep apart from one another, they end up going into the other’s rooms and sleeping on the floor so they can feel safe and comfortable again

I never actually thought about this before but how did Maul go about getting this tea set?

Did he go to a market, probably with Rook, looking for one because he realised he was pretty fond of the Cassius tea Pre Vizsla served him that one time?

Would he have questioned the merchant how the tea set/brewing works? It's probably fair to assume he's never made tea in his life. Would Rook have stepped in and offered her assistance since she'd likely be familiar with brewing that specific tea due to her upbringing? If so, does that mean there's possibly an unseen moment where Rook taught Maul how to brew tea?

touch starved echo who has no idea what that means. who doesn't understand why his skin hurts so bad and his bones ache and there is a hollowness in his chest that just won't go away. and he wants touch so bad it is so embarrassing. he wants to reach out and hug and touch and he wants to be held tight and intensely in any and every way. someone who was used to being constantly surrounded by people now feeling so isolated, like no one will want to touch him after this. and when they do it's torturous. like he's on fire and desperate and he wants to sob because good god he's wanted this so bad but it's so overwhelming to even be hugged and the 99s try and Rex tries and Cody tries but he can barely handle them running a hand over his back if they even tried to hold him he'd explode but he needs it. fuck he needs it. he needs them to do it he needs them to not be scared away when he wants to shove them and cry but he can't ask that of them, to make them feel like they're hurting him. they aren't hurting him please just touch him touch him please.
