How many rainy days in a row? ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Bits of the Precip Discussion issued by WPC.
The first of our tropical downpours is already in view on matrix radar.
Looks like some thunderstorms and rain will be rolling through tomorrow afternoon. And note it will be 85° tomorrow according to NWSâs latest forecasts. My weather station says we are up to 82% relative humidity already.
Quiet today, although you can feel a bit more humidity in the air. That will continue in the days ahead, bring showers and storms in a diurnal pattern with two-inch plus precipitable water values coming, some of those storms could pack a punch.
I am not given to flood worries, as I live on comparatively high ground, to the point that no NWS hurricane map even covers my part of Brooklyn. There is no eventuality where evacuation would be ordered. That said, there appears to be multiple rounds of rain coming between noon today and 6AM Tuesday. Two inches to four inches could rock the house, as the saying goes. And forget about the BQE in those conditions. Let alone the Cross Bronx!
Almost that time NYC, and it wonât be pretty,
Radar is starting to fill in. Just be aware of that as you plan your evening.
Right around fireworks time, nature may arrive with her own.

That storm up near Toronto is going to hit our tropical humidity and squeeze it out like a wet sponge later on.
So it look like the NAM beat the HRRR here!
It will be interesting to see if the NAM is correct about a bowed squall line rolling through this evening. The HRRR shows them boiling away before they reach the coast. Only one answer can be correct.
Didnât bother looking up the overnight low temp because I am quite sure it wasnât very low. When it is 85° with a dew point temp of 70°, that is pretty hideous.
In the blazing afternoon sun on my Brooklyn rooftop.
Our overnight low in Central Park was 82.9°, which is pretty darn hot when you factor in that dew point of 75°. Air you can wear, indeed.
Air Quality suffers in weather like this. Later on, in the afternoon heat, the AQI is forecast rise to 126, which is unhealthy for sensitive groups.
